Mulderland's Dino Crisis *Enhancement Pack* - UPDATED!

An easy, automated way to upgrade your Dino Crisis installation to Dino Crisis Classic REbirth with all required patches and mods, plus optional improvements.

Intro

I propose here a "MulderLoad installer" from my Mulderland project. It's an automatic installer written with NSIS, fully open-source and built with Github Actions. I try to make Enhancement Packs for many great games.

Regarding Dino Crisis, this enhancement pack is designed to work with the Steam Release. It will:

• Downgrade the game to the GOG v1.0 Hotfix 3 version.
  
• Install Dino Crisis Classic REbirth in a "rebirth" subfolder.
  
• Install High-Quality Audio (Dreamcast version).
  
• Install High-Quality Textures (Dreamcast, upscaled).
  
• Install MulderConfig to fix Steam Overlay and Steam Input, and enable playing Non-REbirth versions (useful for playing in French, German, Italian, or Spanish).
  
• Optionally remove non-REbirth files to save disk space.

Dino Crisis Classic REbirth

Dino Crisis Classic REbirth is a set of patches made by the Classic REbirth Team. All credits go to them. I'm only trying to make the installation process easier and more accessible.

It has the following advantages over the regular Steam or GOG version (source: PCGW)

• Replaces DirectDraw 5.00 with DirectX 9, for improved compatibility with modern GPUs (and prevents rundll32.exe from executing for no good reason). OpenGL and DirectX11 will be implemented in the future.
  
• Replaces DirectInput 3.00/5.00 with new input methods such as XInput, RawInput, DirectInput 8.0 (also native keyboard support).
  
• This allows most controllers to be detected and supported by the game.
  
• Replaces DirectShow video playback with a custom video player that doesn’t depend on deprecated Microsoft technologies.
  
• No codecs required, FFmpeg takes care of Indeo5 and adds native MP4 + AAC support.
  
• Adds a new 3D rendering mode with more precise transformation methods that fix wobbliness and texture warping.
  
• Improves sound capabilities of the game, making the audio driver switch from 22050Hz 8bit audio driver to 44100Hz 16bits.
  
• It also fixes a bug that causes music to increasingly speed up when player gets damaged across rooms without healing.
  
• Adds resolutions higher than 640×480 (supports 4K too), adds a hotkey to switch resolution in game, and provides a more stable borderless window mode to replace glitchy fullscreen.
  
• Adds an optional adaptative wide screen mode to fill the whole screen area (e.g. 16:9 and 16:10).
  
• Fixes frame rate issue to provide smooth 30/60 FPS support.
  
• Translates the Japanese version into English (optionally, enabled by default)
  
• High Quality Videos
  
• High Quality Audio (Background Music and Voice) from the (superior) Dreamcast version
  
• Compatible with the High Quality Textures Pack (upscaled from the Dreamcast version) - proposed in my installer too.

IMPORTANT for Non English / Non Japanese speakers::
Classic REbirth is based on the Japanese version of the game.
It includes an English Translation (enabled by default), but that means you can only play in English or in Japanese when playing Classic REbirth.

As far as I know, there is no subtitles / no fansubs / no mod to support subtitles. If you know a way, please tell me and I'll add it to this Pack!

UPDATE: with MulderConfig, you can still play "NON-Rebirth" easily with working Steam Overlay & Steam Input :)

Download & apply the Enhancement Pack

1) Get the latest version of the installer here:

Be sure to look at the "Steam Enhancement Pack" (I have made a dedicated pack for GOG too)
Click on "Download" to get the file "dino-crisis-steam-steam-enhancement-pack.exe"

2) Run the installer

Double click on the executable.
No need to run it as admin. If the installer refuses to run, read the section "A MulderLoad installer refuses to run" on my help page: https://www.mulderland.com/help

3) Follow instructions

Screen 3 : here, you can choose to remove "Non Rebirth" files to save space (but of course if you do that, you won't be able to play it anymore, even with MulderConfig).

It's done!

By default, the game will now run Classic REbirth in English, with Steam Overlay & Steam Input enabled.

First time this error message is normal , it’s how Classic rebirth is. But the configuration window should open next. Which os are you using?

No, it's not supposed to be like that. Try to launch MulderConfig and click on Save & Apply.

When I launch the game, it doesn't show that I'm playing it on Steam, and it doesn't track my playtime. Is it supposed to be like that, or is there a way to fix it?

My Copy also auto shoot when aim, but when i remove the mod, everything is fine

How do you aim without shooting? As soon as I hold down the trigger button she automatically shoots.
