EASY HATS
I made this guide with the help from r/MegabonkOfficial on reddit. Shoutout to this reddit thread.
I ordered achievements according to their difficulty.

  • Santa Hat: find and open the present on Forest 1.

  • Green/Blue/Red frogs: On every forest tier there's an egg, after activating the egg it will burst spawning 3 frogs, killing them will reward you with a chest and achievement. These eggs can sometimes spawn on top of trees or stone pillars. I'd recommend leaving eggs for later when you have enough damage to kill frogs instantly, otherwise they will run around the map and you'll have to hunt them down.

  • Shady hats: you'll unlock these hats by playing the game normally. Buy items from shady guys and you're good to go.

  • Microwave: you'll unlock this hat by playing game normally. Just use damn microwaves.

  • Crown: get rank 100 as every character. You get rank xp by getting xp in the run and progressing to next stage.

  • Kevin Hat: self-explanatory, I'm not sure if everyone's picking kevin in their runs, but if you don't then you should, to get this achievement just pick at least one kevin and play the run casually, you may want to match lifesteal% with kevins' proc chance for greater survivability.

  • Sheriff's hat: pick Dex, Sniper rifle, Katana. Pick XP, Damage, Precision, Quantity tome. Disable items that don't increase your damage output. Choose graveyard, just play until you feel confident that you can 1 shot 2k health boss, then activate grave pylon that gives you a key, the first ghost that spawns will have so little hp that you'll probably one shot it and get achievement in one try.

  • Headset: pick Dex, Katana, Scythe, Dragon's breath. Pick XP, Chaos, Quantity, Damage tomes. Items are up for your decision. Restart until you start with at least 2 Boss curses, activate them before activating boss, rest is up for your skill. Got this achievement in my first try.

  • Magic hat: Disable 1 weapon slot and pick only listed weapons, pick XP, Chaos, Quantity, Damage tomes, items are up for your decision, but echo shard and old mask are important. Since we're not picking cursed tome, we'll activate greed shrines as we level up. Our first priority is XP tome then our weapons. I expect getting this achievement on 3rd stage, or after beating the final boss

  • Iron helm: disable all weapons except for the listed ones, pick XP, Chaos, Quantity, Damage/Precision tomes, if you haven't unlocked Chaos, you may pick size (but you'll passively gain size on your weapons by leveling them), then just play, if you've beaten the final boss then you'll probably figure out.

  • Pilot helm (u/keekmeister suggestion): disable two weapon slots. take mines, pick XP, Size, Damage, Quantity tomes. Disable all items that deal damage (and banish them during run), items are optional anyway. For stage use Desert 1 with Swarm challenge enabled, at the start just run around while breaking pots and activate a few shrines, if lucky pick extra jumps, duration, size, quantity. When using mines, position yourself above a group of enemies and start swirling in a circle, as you descend, pick a safe location and start over. Make a good use of tornadoes that frequently spawn around the map. Be aware of enemies that start climbing other enemies, especially those fast bone balls. I expect getting it in 2-3 runs.

  • Clown: disable 1 weapon slot, pick sniper rifle and shotgun, pick XP, Chaos, Thorns, Damage tomes, disable all items except for Key, Cactus, Echo shard, Quin's mask, Anvil, Magnet, Chonkplate. During run ban every item that does damage: i.e. power gloves, spicy meatball, fork, ice cube, big bonk and electric plug. Slurp gloves and thunder mitts don't matter because they activate on cooldown and you'll have plenty of time in between their activation. Invest into XP>Thorns>Damage, pick lifesteal and 1 shield from shrines, also invest some levels in shotgun and rifle to feel confident, you may also activate greed shrines. After finding quin's mask, press RMB to enable aiming, move your cursor away from enemies and allow them to touch you, if done correctly, you'll one shot every enemy that touches you. I expect getting this achievement during first swarm on stage two. Took me 2 tries (died first try lol).

  • Sunglasses: Use this build. Take Lightning staff, Revolver, Wireless Dagger. Pick XP, Damage, Precision, Quantity tomes. Disable all items except for Key, Echo Shard, Golden Sneakers, Turbo Skates, Demonic Soul, Grandma’s Secret Tonic, Kevin, Sucky magnet, Lightning Rod, Anvil, Joe’s dagger. During run ban borgar, beacon, spiky shield, giant fork, sucky magnet (after getting 1 copy), you will be left with 2 banishes, spend them on whatever you don’t need. Don’t worry about getting bad items at the start, invest levels in XP while zooming around the map activating every grave that gives you XP and difficulty, after reaching 10x XP invest in Quantity, Precision, Damage and Chaos. Pick crit damage/damage from shrines, get at least 1 shield for survivability. Bald heads for Crit chance, crit damage, damage, XP, attack speed. It's good to look for Green credit cards and stack luck so you get more legendary items. Boss fight will be easy and you should kill the boss in less than 10 seconds.

  • Head Pot (Stainless steel): disable 1 weapon slot and all weapons except Katana and Dex, alternatively don't disable weapon slots and pick Katana, Dex, Dragon's breath (currently it provides you with massive damage in early game then falls off, but it's that good trust me bro), pick luck/xp/chaos/precision or damage tomes, disable all legendary items except for Magnet, Anvil, Pot, lower tier items are up for your choice, Key is mandatory, stack keys (15 and more are good). How to play: our first priority is maximum luck near the end of our run, look for credit card (green), then kevin+golden shield, invest levels mainly in xp and luck tome, try to stack as many keys as possible, if you're sure that you can't stack more start opening chests on the stage but don't be too greedy, on 1st stage open till you hit 500(?) chest price, on second stage and later it doesn't matter too much, you may activate greed shrines if you're feeling confident, ban as much legendary items as you can (ban magnet/ice cube/lightning orb after getting one, ban power gloves, spicy meatball, giant fork (if you're using precision tome), za warudo (you'll probably won't need it), keep big bonk and overpowered lamp for damage, but if you have enough of them and feel confident then ban them). I've unlocked it in ~10 tries without counting restarts on first stage, I expect getting 4 pots on stage 3, based on how wildly unfortunate some runs can be, just give this a few tries, or try other strategy.
HARD HATS
Looong top hat (and also top hat): Personally, I never beaten 300k, my pb was 294k and it was at the time of game release, but, I tried again and got 600k (see the image below)

The build:
Play as Dicehead, take Dex, Katana and Dragon's breath, pick Luck, XP, Cursed, Chaos tomes, disable all items except for Key, Echo shard, Kevin, Grandma's secret tonic, Sucky magnet, Lightning orb, Anvil, Joe's dagger, Pot (stainless steel), Wizard's Hat.

How to play:
You need to restart until you get 2 microwaves so you can stack keys or time bracelets early, Shady guys>moais in early game so having 6 shady guys is very nice.

2 boss curses is enough (and even 3 bosses on the first stage might be too much).

You have to find a second weapon ASAP, the best that you can get is dragon's breath, next is dex and last is katana

Early game don't focus too much on tomes and pick them whenever you can, but weapon upgrades come first, then focus on XP tome, more xp more levels more random passive upgrades, run around the map and pray to find green credit card, even more important for damage output is grandma's secret tonic, everything else may wait

Invest in XP>Luck>Dragon's breath>Dex, from shrines pick Powerup drop chance>Projectile Count>Crit Damage>Damage to Elites>Elite Spawn increase, if you need lifesteal or extra jumps then pick them.

Focus on maxxing luck, ignore greed shrines unless you're confident, don't level up cursed tome unless you're confident, ideal difficulty at the end of first stage is ~30%, 50+% and you will struggle a lot and probably lose if you've summoned 3 bosses or more.

If you didn't find green credit card on stage one, don't worry and pray that you will find it late.

On stage one stay up to 1:30 after time's up, on stage two you may stay up to 10:00 after time's up (but I usually don't last after 8:00), on stage three it might be up to 14:00, and on final boss' arena stay for as long as you can.

It's important to find sucky magnet at stage two so you can stay beyond the map and still get exp from far across.

Stack some za warudos, on stage two and three come to the corner beyond the map (but near the boss portal!), enemies will spawn inside map boundaries and will have to come to you long way allowing you to survive further until you pop one or two za warudos.

Ban immediately: power gloves, ice cube, giant fork. Get 1 copy of this item then ban it next time you see it: Spicy meatball, Sucky magnet. Ban Lightning Orb after getting 4 copies. Ban za warudo when you have 10 or more, you don't need a lot of them.

Looking at the picture you may ask why ban fork, it's because dice will stack overcrit multiplied by crit damage, fork ruins this damage by capping it at 4x original damage + 0.15x per fork copy (or maybe 0.30x per copy if it converts the same way crit damage does), so if you're running 400% crit chance with 2x crit damage, its already 2x4=8x damage, in my case with 18 forks it's actually 6.7x damage, but because of chaos tome and dicehead's passive, you will have way over 3x or even 4x crit damage, resulting in 4x4=16x damage at 400% crit chance, which is easily gettable through both chaos tome and dicehead's passive as well as weapon upgrades, don't be a dummy like me and ban fork please.

Banning ice cube: got it from Rizzotto's videos on youtube, he claims that enemies have stun count, applying slow stacks reduces the amount of available stacks on enemies, lightning orbs are more preferred because they stun enemies instead of just slowing them. Also Lightning orb and ice cube deal the same damage and scale linearly 0.4n x damage (n=amount of item).

Looong top hat run:
CHEEEEEEEESE
UPD. I didn't notice that in latest version they changed requirements. Now you don't have to do this on desert and you can do it on both desert and forest maps. This makes beating this challenge much easier, yet nothing's changed for the build, I've tried redoing this challenge on forest t3, and easily got through first and second stage, got 8 cheese and snek, but lost the run during final boss fight due to low movement speed% and only 3 extra jumps, so keep that in mind.

Cheesy hat.
4 days of my life gone.

I've tried 5 different builds, the usual one with Katana and Dex with Cursed tome, the one I used on Calcium, the Megachad's maximum size with Aura/Frostwalker/Scythe and some other. None of them worked. I tried different item combinations, tried both maxxing difficulty and ignoring it entirely.
2 times I died when I almost killed anubis while having snek and 8 cheese. 3 times I couldn't find snek on third stage. 1 time I had 6 cheese and didn't even realize until I beat anubis.

But I got it.

Amog is a weak character with the worst starting weapon in the game. You have to lock in for this achievement. Play on forest tier 3.

The build:
Pick Aegis for survivability, Dex and Katana for DPS. Pick Luck, XP, Quantity and Damage. Ban Immediately: Borgar, Slippery ring, Medkit, Power Gloves, Giant Fork. Ban after getting one copy: Spicy meatball, Ice cube.
Disable all items except: Key, Echo Shard, Moldy gloves, Snek. That's right, we're disabling them all. We need to maximize our chances of getting Cheese, Green Credit Card and Snek.

How to play:
restart till you get a stage with 2 white microwaves (use them to duplicate keys and/or cheese), start moving from pot to charge shrine to pot, you must find any weapon ASAP, preferably Aegis as your first weapon, in early game invest in XP tome then quantity tome and precision, then from time to time lvl up luck tome.

Use white microwaves to stack keys, blue microwaves for echo shards and/or feathers (early game), Unstable transfusion (viable if you have many projectiles or a lamp), pink for green credit cards.

From shrines, pick at least 1 shield, Extra jumps, lifesteal, crit damage / damage, XP, powerup drop chance, max hp, movement speed (important for final boss fight), and armor. Also you should have at least 1 campfire, during final boss fight you can stand for a little between attacks to regenerate some health.

DO NOT ACTIVATE ANY GREED SHRINES. Difficulty will kill you.

As I said, run around the map and break all pots that you see, activate shrines, buy items from shady guys.

If you're lucky you might find snek on first stage, but don't be cheeky and lock in, you still need to get 8 cheese and slay the final boss. Stack keys, open chests from time to time, after getting 5-10 keys you want to stack cheese, pray that you get microwaves on later stages.

In case you didn't find snek at later stages, don't waste money, start maxxing luck tome and only then open chests (except for free chests, you can open them whenever you want).

If you found snek and 8 cheese, you still have to slay final boss. Start maxxing weapons, and precision / damage tome, more importantly get at least 20-30 proj. count, you will need a lot of Aegis' shields during final boss fight.

Final boss fight:
Let's hope that you got 20+ proj count., you have 30%+ movement speed, and 5+ extra jumps. Let's also hope that you have campfire and some lifesteal. It's time to kill the boss.

Until he takes all your weapons you should be able to skip to the first pylon charging phase, move around and charge distant pylons, dodge homing balls, move away from ground attacks.

Let's hope that you got Aegis as your first weapon, after charging 1 pylon you will get it back, after a short period Aegis will recover all its shields, after this rest of the fight should be easy.

Damage boss, activate shrines, damage boss, activate shrines, finally kill the boss.

If you're low on health stay afk for a little to recover some health, dodge red balls at any cost, and you should be good.

Good luck.

Generally helpful, but i'd like to add:
Iron Helm
it took me like 20 tries until i found a strategy.
Tomes: XP > Luck > Dmg > Quantity; stage 1 the Tome priority is: Quantity / XP.
Since weapons are short-range try only taking Size + Damage and ignore Knockbacks, and focus on Size from Charge Shrines. Try Cheese (3-5x) and enable Gas Mask (helps a lot against bosses). Try not to take Armor or other def stats as his Armor-Scaling is enough, but do take some Livesteal.
For enabled Items, only take: BB, Key; DemonB, Shard, Knuckles; Toxic B, Slutty C, DemonS, Bob, Gas Mask, (maybe Tonic and Kevin but only if it fits to our strategies), CursedG, Magnet, Anvil, SH, Joe's Dagger, Snek, Pot (probably wont scale that high but why not); Lastly try focusing weapon upgrades on Scythe or Hero Sword; For my clear i skipped any Crit and didnt get a single Legendary Item, but still invested in those (XP around lv30 and Luck lv 14) and still got it.

Thank you for the guide. Got the Cheese Hat on my second attempt!

> Can someone explain to me what the thought process is supposed to be during a run. What do I try to prioritize during the magic hat run?

I have problem with this hat, too. Unlocked most of hats already (pot, cheese, etc.).

The problem is that required weapons just don't do enough damage. And then I can't survive because I rely on damage, not defense. I've used dexecutioner and XP, luck, projectile count and chaos tome.

As for items I'm not sure what of them are good to supplement damage, tried different ones. Couldn't find a nice guide on this achievement.
