Help, I don't know what any of the panels in the game do!
Most important panels have a small ? help button on them. Clicking on that provides an in-depth explanation of the panel, as well as screenshots for clarity.

I don't know what the laws in the National Convention do!
Hovering over reforms in the National Convention (in the selection screen with the big paper scroll) will display more information about them on the left; both a descriptive and a mechanical description of the reform are shown.
How do I get more votes in the National Convention?
Use the Propaganda action to convert the population of nearby regions to your faction; this will grant you more votes in the National Convention (provided that the populations in those regions can vote).

You can leverage these votes to pass reforms in the National Convention which give more social classes the ability to vote (because by default, only the Bourgeoisie and Nobility can vote).
I can't create new armies or merge armies together!
Create new armies by selecting your officers' units and clicking Mobilize.

You can move officers between armies with Transfer under the same menu.

Each army must have at least 1 officer in it, and units without officers cannot be mobilized or transferred.
I can't seem to kill any enemy leaders (their army just respawns?)
When armies are defeated in battle, their officers regroup and retreat to a nearby region.

You have defeated them, but they aren't dead!

After you reach the 2nd coup, you have the ability to execute leaders once all of their territories are captured using the Trial System.
Are there Skill Trees in this game?
Yes!

  • Buildings can be upgraded, yielding more resources.

  • Units gain XP by surviving battles, and will level up to Veteran and Elite units, which come with upgrades and new attributes for those units.

  • Drastic National Convention reform can be voted into place and advanced towards more radical reforms, like having no elections, allowing executions, etc.
How/why do mechs factor into the revolution?
In revolutionary battle, Mechs are more than just damage sponges. They play a vital role in the game, especially for anyone attempting The Royalists playthrough.

  • The Royalists' Loyal attribute makes Mech units more resilient when standing next to a friendly mech.

  • In fact, if they take too much damage too quickly, they'll overheat. This costs them a whole turn off and deals them damage.

  • The Grenadiers unit exists explicitly to counter mechs by driving their heat up rapidly.

  • They also have some more obvious strategy attributes like a lot more health, the Repair action and, of course, increased damage to truly bring the revolution to life.

So there's some depth to the Mechs in terms of how you play our your revolution.
