Description


Hey, we heard you liked Engineered Coffee, so we had Engineered Coffee engineer you some Engineered Coffee.

Through a mutually beneficial hostile takeover, Engineered Coffee Industries has acquired the Cosmic Coffee brand! Now you can have the great taste of Cosmic Coffee crafted from your own food processor.

This little mod adds the ability to grow you very own Engineered Coffee plant in a Farm Plot, harvest it, roast it, and turn it into a few delicious recipes in the Food Processor.

It's even compatible with nukeguard's Vertical and Inset farm plots!



Where do I find the beans?
  • Wild Eng. Coffee: Fruit bushes out in the wild now have a 1:20 chance of dropping coffee beans instead of the normal fruit. The farm plot is unaffected, fruit will bear fruit and coffee will bear coffee.

  • Trade & Exploration: You may also stumble upon raw beans by trading with vendors or through looting Unknown Signals.

  • Processing: The raw coffee can be processed into beans for planting in the Farm Plot or roasted for consumption or use in recipes.



Recipes
  • Roasted Eng. Coffee: These roasted beans can be eaten directly for a small boost of food, health, and suit energy. Does it make sense that coffee gives you literal energy for your suit?... Hey, shut up.

  • Cosmic Coffee: Same great coffee available at most vendors, now brewed from the comfort of your own Food Processor. Also adds a little suit energy.

  • Eng. Coffee Dark Roast: Fueled by good math and bad spelling, this double shot of dark roast blend will give you all the energy you need to keep things under conrtol. Double the stats of the Cosmic Coffee.

  • Eng. Coffee Cake: This delicious packaged cake is the perfect dessert to wash down that aftertaste of banana beef.

  • Coffee Braised Brisket: Mildly bitter "beef" brisket braised to charred perfection, tastes suspiciously like dehydrated MRE.

  • Little Okay Burger: Is the burger good? Eh, it's a little okay. (Viewers will understand this little inside joke from my daughter.)

  • Sabiroid Sushi: Raw alien in rice, what's the worst that could happen? Make sure to visit our restaurant inside the ECI HQ on Mars!

  • Sereni-Tea: I am a Tea Leaf on the Wind! For my friends across the pond who don't like brown bean water, here is some brown leaf water!

Mod Compatibility
Unfortunately the seeds for farm plots are a whitelist, so if you want to grow coffee on your modded planter, please add the following to your EntityComponents.sbc: (I have already incorporated nukeguard's Vertical (wall) Farm Plot)

Any word regarding the Potato crashes? I can confirm I receive the following: [FATAL] Keen: Definition of "MyObjectBuilder_ConsumableItem/Potatoes" is missing.

this is on a heavily modded server, however this is the only mod I have adding foodstuffs.

Until then I will attempt to fight back the uncaffeinated horde of engineers throwing themselves at me like bugs on a windshield.

Weird, I have potatoes enabled for compatibility with Aegir's mod, but it shouldn't spawn them. I will check the files

Hi EC, enjoying the mod and (YT) videos. Quick concern, since subscribing to coffee mod, I sometimes get "potatoes" from random drops. If I let it go through my base via sorters, it crashes SE. If I manually check cargo box, there are no potatoes and no ill effect. I can empty manually and potato inventory item disappears. I only use a few mods, leak detector, paint, auto lcd, and coffee. The potatoes are ID'd by auto lcd giving an inventory of a cargo box connected to grinder system. Crash happens when I enable sorter to empty grinder cargo into base main cargo. Anyways, I'm late for coffee and coffee cake. Bye

To increase drop rates, you would need to modify the SBC in the mod folder. I plan to take a look at all that after the next update. I have a feeling the economy contract stuff will mess with it anyway.

Hey just an fyi the burger has the exact same recipe as the vanilla burrito but gives less food.

I have harvested a ton of fruit bushes, but no coffee yet. is there a way to increase the odds?
