Tenna Editor

Tenna Editor is another unofficial Deltarune Save Editor.
Motivation
Harsh progression in Chapter 3 motivated me to look for a tool for editing saves.
There is a very popular Spamton Editor out there, which at the time when I wanted to use it, was unavailable. And after it got back online, it didn't have the features I needed.
I decided to work on an alternative that works like a modern web app that doesn't rely on external servers to function.

Features
At this point, I release this app as beta-quality software.
There are already more features than present in Spamton Editor, and there is a lot more to come.
Currently, most of the essential things that you might want to change are present, but there are hundreds of flags that I haven't covered yet.

There are five main tabs:
  • Home (basic save options)
  • Inventory
  • Party
  • Light World
  • Story
  • Recruits

Some of them have their own subtabs.
For example, in the Party tab, each character has their own subtab for managing their stats and equipment.

One Editor To Edit Everything
Tenna Editor automatically detects your save file Chapter when you upload it.
It is currently compatible with all saves from Chapters 1 to 4.

NOTE: Console versions are currently unsupported.

All the saves you make are saved in the memory of your browser.
You can use custom names to easily identify and switch between them seamlessly.
Editor adapts to your save, displaying only values and tabs that apply to the current chapter.

All Inside Your Browser
Tenna Editor operates entirely within your browser. All data processing occurs on your device, ensuring that no information is sent elsewhere.

You can also choose to install Tenna Editor as a Progressive Web App (PWA) on compatible devices and browsers. This allows it to function like a traditional desktop or mobile app, complete with its own shortcut and offline access.

Works Everywhere (almost)
Although primarily designed for widescreen use, Tenna Editor functions well on mobile devices, offering full feature support.

Name And Design
I really enjoyed character of Tenna while playing Chapter 3.
This combined with existance of Spamton Editor caused instant decision to just name it after Tenna as Spamton and Tenna are very related characters that you probably know already.

You can`t get this from an EGG!

I put a lot of effort into making the layout look distinct and directly inspired by Tenna's colors. The design went through many iterations. I also tried to incorporate additional design elements inspired by Tenna, such as some yellow accents, but they didn’t quite fit well. I'm not particularly fan of designing user interfaces in general, so I welcome any suggestions!
It's Open Source
Tenna Editor is an open-source project released under the zlib license. This means you can modify it, self-host it, or do pretty much anything else you like.

I encourage you to contribute!
There are many people who have spent countless hours exploring the game code and likely know much more about it than I do.

Adding new content like flags is a fairly easy process. All data related to the game is stored in /src/data. Everything is parsed automatically, and the editor exports them in a 1:1 way the game does.

You can find full source code repository hosted on GitHub[github.com].
Special Thanks
  • Toby Fox and whole Team behind Deltarune - for creating the game.
  • Spamton Editor[saveeditor.spamton.com] - for being direct inspiration.
  • Flowey's Time Machine[crumblingstatue.github.io] - for being another inspiration.
  • Deltarune Wiki[deltarune.wiki] - for much useful information that sped up the process of building this project significantly.
  • Undertale Mod Tool[github.com] - for allowing me to mine through the game code and assets to understand how things work.
Closing Remarks And Path Forward
This is not yet a full release of this project.
There is a lot of work to do until this project is fully completed.
Besides missing features, the code is messy in a few places, and documentation could be improved as well.

I wanted to share it with you right now because I think this might be useful for many of you.
I want to know your honest opinion about what works well and what does not.
So feel free to leave your feedback here or on GitHub (preferred, especially when reporting bugs).

If you encounter an issue with uploading your save, I encourage you to upload it or its content (you can open it with notepad) to pastebin or another file-sharing service and provide a link here. This will allow me to find the issue and fix it.

I would love to see this as a stand alone executable not tied to a browser tool. Also if any one could give me a list of all plot id's that would be great

Not worth uploading my save for but if I could figure out the line in the save file where the flag for having seen the Chapter 3 Ball Machine secret is so I can get the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing back that'd be swell

Thanks for the feedback. Please drop your save files in the comments here, and I will look into them. Currently, I do not have much free time to develop this further, but for sure, it is going to change in the future.
also the berdlys arm checkmark is reversed, instead of saying its broke after snowgrave it says its not.
Hey so the legs on the vessel are kinda broken bc when i had the last ones on(the ones at the very end that are the odd ones out) and put the save in this save editor the legs just disappeared and when i reselected them the first 3 are reversed and the last one is what the first 3 should look like, when i put the last ones on again and put this file back in spamton save editor the legs showed up as the 3rd ones not the last ones so i dont know which one is right, i know this is still beta but just pointing it out, also the "defeated king violently" checkmark is unmarked when i loaded my ch 2 save in and i am doing a violent route, also the manual drop thing showed up as not dropped but then again i DID drop it twice and the sans number thing says i got number but not called even though i called it.

when i try to upload a chapter 3 file it does not respond or actually upload anything

I can only upload chapter one files. Any other file just doesn't appear in the box when I upload it.
Here is the pastebin link for my chapter 3 file in case it helps:

1) For the Chapter 3 Dark World Options, the option to toggle if you encountered the "Love" or "Hate" secret room with the two coloured Golden Sams and which one you picked.
2) Another Chapter 3 option, the option to toggle whether or not you made the Golden Son 2 happy that there is a Golden Son 3.
These two are both options I forgot to do in my save and I'm not sure if they have any implications later, but it would be cool, if possible, for them to be options in the Editor.
3) Similar to the option to sleep through Tenna's introduction, you could also add the option to toggle if you slept through the Church scene in Chapter 4 for consistency.
4) Finally, for Chapter 4 you could also add the option to toggle whether or not you went to the diner with Susie. Related to this, would also be the inclusion of "Took Asriel's Money" in the Chapter 4 section, as you can do it here as well if you didn't in Chapter 1.
These are just some other suggestions that I thought of.

Thanks for the quick response and the reference in the patch notes! Another thing I want to mention are some suggestions for you to add in the Tenna Editor for Chapters 3 & 4. I don’t mean to sound overbearing in any way through this, just want to give some ideas I had thought of. It goes over the character limit if I send it with this message so I’ll send it in the next.
