"At a posture more upright than a typical snapjaw, a folded arm behind his back reserves intent. Obscuring much of the face is a pillowy cloud of fabric about their neck. Above this cloud, painted in aqua dust, two longing, distant eyes peer. Their long black skirt swathes the lower figure, billowing in the wind and tossing light every which way."

With a somewhat longer expected lifespan than within the tumultuous clans of his peers, the Snapjaw Socialite turns to machines - and their scholars - for the answers of the world. The warm amber glow of cathode tubes in his humble study carry the strained mind far from the howling and feeding it knew from birth. Far from the day-to-day desperation. From arid canyons of cracks across parched lips, to a blueprint pen held eruditely between them. And an endearingly-gnawed one, at that. The great question still evades, still shuts the door behind him and sends him back out into the ravenous world: What spared him from their fate?
