Description
Welcome to a next era of immersive sound for Arma 3!

JSRS SOUNDMOD 2025 takes the audio experience to the new level, setting new standards for authenticity and creating a seamless, all-encompassing soundscape.

🌟 What is it?
JSRS SOUNDMOD 2025 is the evolution of the beloved soundmod, delivering a revamped and modernized sound environment for Arma 3. The focus is on creating a unified and immersive soundscape for all assets.

  • Completely reworked weapon sound architecture
    Weapons now operate on a clean Shot + Tail system with clearly separated positioning and spatialization.
    This drastically reduces clutter while improving clarity, punch and distance perception.

  • Advanced Tail & Distance System
    A fully rebuilt tail system with refined fade behavior, spatial depth and environmental response.
    No artificial layering, no stereo gimmicks — just controlled, believable distance acoustics.

  • EVR – Environmental Vehicle Reverberation
    A new vehicle audio layer simulating reflected pressure and environmental response.
    Adds mass, scale and presence to helicopters and jets — without relying on obstruction tricks.

  • Expanded Movement & Interaction Audio
    New dedicated sounds for tactical movement, ADS, leaning, inventory, map interaction and NVG usage.
    Slow movement is now genuinely quiet — sprinting and panic movement are not.

  • Biome & Atmospheric Soundscape
    Distinct audio layers for Nordic, Boreal, Winter, Savanna, Temperate Europe, Jungle and Tropic environments.
    Includes wildlife, wind, weather and terrain-dependent ambience.

  • Enhanced Soundscape Integration
    Gunfire dynamically echoes off of distant hills and mountain areas, adding natural reflections and depth based on terrain.

  • Modernized Audio Pipeline
    Internally rebuilt configs, naming structure and build pipeline (HEMTT-based) for long-term stability, scalability and maintainability.

This is not just louder sound.
It is a cleaner, more controlled and more physically grounded audio system for Arma 3.

Dev Branch–Only Features (Not available on Stable)

  • Interior Explosion Sounds
    Explosions that occur inside buildings use a dedicated interior acoustic model, including enclosed pressure response and reduced exterior bleed.
    This feature relies on engine-side functionality that is currently only available on the Dev / Profiling branch.

  • Dynamic Ducking System
    A real-time ducking effect based on the newer xAudio backend, allowing weapons and explosions to naturally push back environmental sounds.
    This improves clarity, punch and overall mix control, but is not supported by the Stable branch audio driver.

These features are therefore exclusive to the Dev Build.
If Bohemia Interactive reverts the newer xAudio backend, the ducking system will be affected accordingly.

  • Activate the mod in the launcher and enjoy

All-in-One Compatibility Integration
The previously separate AiO Compatibility Pack is now fully integrated into this release.
All supported compatibility modules are included by default.

  • No additional downloads required
  • Compatibility is handled internally by JSRS

If you do not want to use certain compatibility modules, you can safely remove them manually:

jsrs2025\addons\compat_xyz

Simply delete the corresponding compat addon pbo and bisign files for the mod you don’t want to covered by JSRS.
This allows full control over which integrations are active without affecting the core mod.
