Operation Daigyo Ami

Description
In the Sea of Japan right on the brink of an invasion by Nato forces, the Russians attempt a last ditch desperate breakout with everything they have, can you stop them and prevent them from escaping?

WARNING: this mission is meant to be LONG and has quite a few units in it so it can chug older computers a bit, also be aware this is my first public mission and it is missing mission end triggers, i have included all necessary information and some light narrative in a pop-up message just after mission start.

Feedback is welcomed as this is my first mission i am making public, it could use refinement and has not been play tested before release. (cant really do it myself as i know where everything is and where its all going etc etc)

1/22/2025: added new requirement to fix loading error causing the mission to never start.

2/10/2025: workshop requirements updated to account for "New Threat" dependency

2/14/2025: added dependency for HMS Belfast

thank you for the feedback @GOMANCZ3 i do feel the biggest limitation is the engine itself but as you said we are still in early access so here is hoping that changes over time, since i have not gotten all that much feedback overall, perhaps i should change the description from hard mission to long mission instead? again due to the engine making the game want to chug for alot of people

I would not call it hard. Its a complex but relatively simple mission. But there are just too many units. It will brick any computer and the moment you start launching aircraft it gets worse. Also the distances to travel are insane, especially since you cant fast forward because then you will crash or go down to 5 fps. You could go the route of making this into three separate missions, and everything would work fine. I get it, big mission sounds cool, but the game is in early acces, the engine simply isnt built for this kind of load.

@jwhuntleyiv i have replicated the problem and found the cause, it appears that i was thinking ahead farther than the steam workshop itself, the Type 22 frigate has a Lynx helicopter it requires to function, the workshop is not smart enough to know of a requirement that has its own requirement, so i have now added the helicopter as a requirement here as well, that "should" fix the problem, please do let me know, if this mission has been unplayable this entire time and none of the 60 subs other than yourself have said so i will be quite upset...

yeah i see it but once I enable all the mods and try to load the mission it gets stuck in loading screen

@jwhuntleyiv it appears to still be working on my end when using the workshop version, have you enabled it through the in-game mod manager? it should then appear near the bottom of the main scenarios list after that.

Can't seem to get this one to work after multiple attempts
