UCS Official List

Description
Unturned Curation Standard (UCS)

The Unturned Curation Standard is a group of like-minded server owners and their networks. Servers verified with UCS follows its moderation guidelines, utilizes the global ban system, and are confirmed to be real (not fake server clones).

Additional member servers/networks will be added to this list, so be sure to have us subbed.

Some notes: Recently this has been mistranslated to some as a power grab among server owners. The coalition behind this was formed prior to any curated map changes. This is unrelated to those changes. The point in this is to verify servers that follow common guidelines and also protect servers against known cheaters.

Member Servers/Networks

- Infected Network
- Sanctum Network
- Syntale Network
- Deapse Network
- LC Network
- Uncreated Warfare
- Unturned Mexico
- Kodak
- Restore Monarchy
- Unbeaten Network
- Fenix Network

UCS Guidelines

Definitions:

Cheating - Using third party cheating software or personally made modifications to the vanilla game in order to gain an advantage over other players or to cause harm to a server.
DDoSing - Engaging in network attacks and other spoofing attempts that deny service to players.
Doxxing - Exposing real life location, selves, and other information that could permanently harm another user.

1. Harassment, discrimination, and racism.
- Servers should properly train their staff team to handle situations regarding harassment, discrimination, and racism.
- Servers should maintain a "zero tolerance" stance regarding the discrimination of others based on their race, gender, nationality, etc.
- Punishments for multiple offenses should incrementally become more consequential.

2. DDoSing, doxxing, and cheating.
- Servers should immediately moderate users conveying DDoS or doxxing threats towards another server or another user.
- Servers are obligated to tell threatened servers about the user, in the case of players threatening to DDoS competing servers.
- Servers should propose a UCS global ban for users continuously DDoSing, doxxing, or cheating.

3. Avoiding unfair, illegal, and disgraceful practices ("scumbag practices").
- Server staff should not threaten other servers with illegal actions (DDoSing, exposing real selves, etc.).
- Server staff should not abuse game flaws to harm other servers in any way.
- Server committee members should put up votes to blacklist (put advisory against) servers that engage in these very practices.

4. Improper usage of the global bans system.
- All kick, ban, and rejection messages originating from the fact that a player is globally banned through UCS must notify the player they were were "UCS global banned" or "banned globally by UCS" and provides a proper discord link to the UCS discord so that they can properly appeal.
- All bans added to the UCS ban system must require plausible proof. You cannot ban through word of mouth, you or a trusted manager has to review the reports/evidence prior.
- Bans can only be applied by management/senior moderation of the member servers/networks. These must be trusted people. The committee can vote to force you to remove a person's access to the system.

UCS Global Ban System

The UCS Global Ban is used by our member servers to prevent problematic users from joining any server that is part of the standard. The reasons a user might be global banned are but not limited to:
- DDoSing
- Doxxing.
- Cheating, promoting exploits.
- Blatant discrimination (e.g. obvious racism, spamming racial slurs).

UCS does have an upcoming appeals system. However, if you have an appeal you would like to send to us, please contact one of our system admins on Discord: jdancem, karmawsyd, rbmkblaze, danielwillett

UCS Membership

Those serving on the UCS committee need to follow our own codex and server hosting rules (as posted above). If you would like further information on getting your server or network on the UCS list, please contact jdancem, karmawsyd, rbmkblaze, or danielwillett .

Your claim that a global ban system does nothing is factually incorrect. I’ve been using both public and private ban APIs across multiple networks for a long time, and they have helped identify and ban cheaters. You’re underestimating how many people closet-cheat. Most of the cheaters I come across aren’t just rage hackers but are regular players looking for an advantage.

Rage cheaters don’t last long because auto-detection systems catch them quickly. The bigger issue is closet cheaters, who try to avoid detection while still gaining an edge. A global ban system helps track and remove these players across multiple servers, making it much harder for them to stay undetected.

Saying this provides a "false sense of security" ignores the reality that it’s an extra layer of defense. No system is perfect, but making cheating more difficult and time-consuming absolutely helps reduce the problem.

It does absolutely nothing to stop cheaters. Steam accounts can be bought in bulk for <$0.10 and IP bans are easily bypassed with a VPN/proxy. It doesn't matter how many times I ban cheaters from my server, they can come back within minutes at times. I know from experience.

Realistically when people cheat on Unturned they usually:
a) Rage hack on 3-4 servers, get banned, get bored and hop off the game
b) Repeatedly harass/disrupt one server, over and over and over again.

Both of these scenarios are completely unaffected by global bans, they do nothing to stop those patterns which I'd say are definitely the most common with cheaters on this game. No one really closet cheats long-term on this game, although that does sometimes happen.

My point is that this doesn't actually do anything, if anything this gives server owners a false sense of security.

Evading is always possible, but the goal of a global ban system isn’t to stop cheaters completely. It is to make it more difficult for them to keep hopping from server to server. The more effort it takes to bypass bans, the less appealing it becomes to keep trying.

For most cheaters, picking a new server is easier than dealing with the hassle of evading bans. It is not a perfect solution, but pretending that doing nothing is better does not make sense either.

Maybe making a decent server-side anticheat would help more than this easily bypassed global ban system. This isn't stopping cheaters at all.

BlazingFlame, that does not make any difference. Players did not consent or know that their IPs were being collected and stored on your servers via your platform. They can not retroactively consent to that, as you are having server admins turn over that information for use in your database. That's insane, there's very little chance that's legal in most places, certainly not where I live. And that's ignoring EU law like GDPR, have you thought of that?
BlazingFlame Feb 28, 2025 @ 12:25am
Yall are overthinking this for a block game.

We are NOT:
* sharing every single player's IP address who joins one of our servers with everyone, only players that have actually been globally banned from our server.
* migrating all bans, only cheaters and ddossers.

Normal players are literally unaffected by this system, like just don't cheat its not that hard.

We will take constructive criticism and are already discussing how to making adjustments to accommodate some of your suggestions and further respect player's privacy.

Unturned is a free game running on Unity and has literally no anti-cheat if you're running on Linux, a child can make cheats for it. It's necessary to do something about it and I don't see you doing anything to help the situation other than lashing out because you and Jdance have some beef that no one really cares about.

Clearly you have a problem with Jdance but this is not the place for it.

coming from 'VoidTempest' idk if I can believe that
asineth0 Feb 27, 2025 @ 4:28pm
Still no bans or consequences for Hypnotic, a server that had pedophiles on their staff team, repeatedly doxxed another server owner, and some of their own staff team have proven BE bans for cheating on a competing server.

There is absolutely zero accountability should be expected form the people running UCS, Jdance should not be trusted with this power.
Jdance  [author] Feb 24, 2025 @ 5:21pm
I guess that works too.
