Vapora Island, a small sanctuary in the middle of nowhere...

Its people are a friendly bunch. Everyone knows everyone. They lend eachother help when they need it, working and playing alongside eachother to build a better future under the watchful eyes of King Scotia.

Peace is bound to corruption, however, and everything changed when their beloved monarch disappeared. In his absence, one loyal Chancellor Chrenarette stepped in to bring about a new tranquility upon the islanders. It was she who made a decision; Scotia must be replaced by one of them. And what better way to decide who controls the future of this fertile, growing island?

Card games! A tournament of card games, to be precise.

And that is where our hero comes into play. In the midst of this chaos, a young outsider washes up on the coastline to find themselves wrapped up in this war for the throne. Along their quest to reach the top, they must befriend their contemporaries and band together with them to find out the secret lying beneath the surface of this sinister circuit...

Tranquil Corrupt Genocide is a card-themed, turn-based RPG that tells this story. Inspired heavily by campy, cliché '90s video games and animation, it aims to be an over-the-top homage to the nonsensically serious. Players control either Cap or Mari in a struggle to become the best of the best, collecting cards, fighting battles, and... managing interpersonal relationships?

To do that, however, you must overcome sixteen other competitors in a ranked climb up a colossal tower named Chateau Soleil. At the top awaits the golden prize, the throne of King Scotia. On your free time, though, you're more than welcome to explore the island and make nice with the Vaporians. Doing so might even reward you handsomely...

The game features loads of gorgeous pixel art and a 50+ song chiptune soundtrack, and is slated for an early 2015 release.
