Report on Soviet Attack and Imminent Invasion of Iceland

Date: March 3, 1988

Summary of Events:

At approximately 13:00 yesterday, Soviet bombers launched a significant airstrike on our airfields in Iceland. The attack inflicted substantial damage to our stationed aircraft, limiting our aerial capabilities on the island. In response, we have moved the remaining operational aircraft to reserve airfields; however, these facilities lack the capacity to accommodate larger bombers, leaving us with only smaller aircraft for immediate operations.

Current Situation:

Intelligence now confirms an incoming Soviet invasion force heading towards Reykjavik. Local Icelandic defense units and the USS Drum are already stationed in the area but are assessed as insufficient to repel a large-scale assault.

Reinforcements:

A carrier task force has been dispatched and is currently 350 nautical miles from Iceland, moving swiftly to provide support.

Objective:

Sink the soviet landing ships to stop the invasion of Iceland.
Take as little losses as possible and deal maximum damage to the Soviet fleet.
