Description
Tired of the same old titles like King, Emperor, Caesar, or Basileus in the vanilla game? Try this mod!
I’ve added new character interactions, allowing human players to:

Rename any character

- Including family and dynasty names

Customize nicknames for any character

- Can be saved as a prefix or suffix
- Can posthumously grant honorary titles to deceased characters

Create custom titles for a character

- Character titles can coexist with title-based names and will override the latter
- However, unless the character also holds a custom title-based name, the character title will not be displayed after death

Change a character’s family

- Includes creating branches, merging branches, changing parents, altering dynasties, and copying genetic traits
- To select a deceased character, open their memory interface and mark them
And these functions can be disabled by modifying the game rules

Customize title-based names

First, you need to select a character through a new private interaction and choose a title you like

- Must be a ruler with a title; otherwise, you cannot proceed.
- No restrictions on title rank—barons, adventurers, and landless nobles are also eligible.
- For titles without clear successors, such as theocracies and republics, wait a few days for the correct heir to be identified.

Then, get ready to create your own custom title!

Now you can customize titles:
● Ruler
● Spouse
● Children
● Heir
● Knight
● Realm

- Follow the event pop-ups to complete the process. Only the ruler title is mandatory; other options are customizable as needed.
- Note: A character cannot have more than one custom title at a time. If a second is acquired, the higher-ranked or earlier-acquired title will be retained, and the other will be removed.

In addition to plain text, I’ve prepared 16 colored text options

- After selecting, copy the text into a .txt file, modify it, and paste it back. Ensure the format is:
color_purple Text Color!

- Of course, you can also get more colors through other mods.

As long as the character holds the title, they will have your custom name

- When the title is inherited or transferred, the new character will also inherit the custom name.

- However, due to the vanilla game’s limitation of shared titles, historical rulers’ custom names for the same title will be lost. To avoid this, I’ve set them to basic titles like King, Duke, etc. I haven’t found a better or more convenient solution yet.

- For the same reason, all knight flavor names are set to basic titles unless customized.

- You might use manual renaming or other nickname-modifying mods to address these issues.

Compatibility

This mod modifies the memory interface in the character UI. If other mods also change this, place this mod lower in the load order to prioritize its content, or higher to prioritize others.

The name of "other holdings" is used for property types that may be newly added by other modules
And the name of city can take effect normally, but only if you hold it

Love the mod, thank you for making this, while it's not a major problem, I find that changing the name of cities or "other holdings" (I assume this includes empty holdings) doesn't seem to work. It works just fine for castles and temples though, which is more than good enough for me.

哈喽作者,好像自定义绰号在宗族树界面会有bug诶。它会显示character_titled_first...然后就占满格子了而不是直接显示绰号和名字

历史统治者的头衔称谓仍然有可能丢失,取决于官方是否为历史人物特别设置了头衔称谓
