What things to do when you're starting your first factory.

1. Never stress about any of the work, trust me, it will all come out smooth however you do it.

2. Make sure to space things out evenly, and USE PLATFORMS. They help out so much for space and land area and give a huge advantage in evenness.

3. Never forget about the MAM (research center). I'm sure you'll find out about it on your own time, but there are too many things inside of it that I easily forgot about, and lacked behind on some of my production.

4. If you ever need recipe information, there's a Wiki for you that will suit your needs for knowledge.

5. You don't need to go swapping tab to tab to tab on your browser for a calculator, you can simply press N inside of the game that will give you the immediate answer.

Things NOT to do when making a sky-factory or mega-base

1. Never use nuclear plants near your main base, always do it at a separate area of land, it will irradiate the entire area for who knows how long.

2. KEEP. WATER. FLOWING. If for any reason nuclear power plants stop receiving a sufficient amount of water, be prepared for a buildup of uranium waste by setting up a 'hub' of containers to combat the amount of waste, preferably separated from most buildings.

3. Try your best not to drag water all over the map, the flow rates appear to be much better near the source where it is coming from. AKA the closer the thing is to the extractor, the more it should receive

4. Hypertubes can be alot of fun in many ways, but never put 7+ entrances in a row as they'll send you to infinity and beyond and maybe even meet Darth Vader

5. If you do happen to do number 4, just place a jump pad slime thing wherever you land. Don't forget to put everything in a chest or container before you use them. You never know when it will send ya'!

Number 4 was my primary means of transportation for an entire playthrough. Massive Hypertube Cannons at various POIs and a couple smaller ones as needed. I could get anywhere on the map from the northwest desert in a single cannon launch.
