Tips for achieving "One Shot" and "100 Times Too Many" in Alien: Isolation
Hey guys,

There is a total of 7 hidden achievements and 4 of those are unmissable story progression achievements. This leaves:

One Shot
100 Times Too Many

but you will get "Run.Hide.Survive" while doing "One Shot".

Hopefully in this guide you'll find everything you need to finish off those last hidden achievements!

Achievement: One Shot
To achieve One Shot it requires you to finish the entire campaign without dieing once. At first this might seem like some epic BS but you're actually able to load your current save file before you are killed and still have the achievement count as long as you never reach the death load screen.

If you do reach the death load screen it saves your current death but you're then able to rewind to a previous save before you were killed and it still counts as having no deaths.

  • When the death animation is happening hit ESC and load your current save. This will negate the current death

  • If you're not quick enough at hitting ESC and you are killed reload to a "previous save" back before you were killed.
Warning: Loading "previous save" after dieing may only work once so if you want to play it extra safe load the "mission save" of the mission you died in.

  • Watch out for Synthetics when on low health, if they do grab you and you don't have enough health to survive it, hit ESC and reload before you die.

  • Also watch out for Face Huggers. It's possible to hit ESC before they kill you but their death animation is extemely fast.

  • You're able to achieve "One Shot" on any difficulty so playing on a lower difficulty will help save a bit of time and allows you to be more reckless like running through gun fire.

  • LCpl. Schultz pointed out that you don't need to start a new game when going for "One shot", you can simply load back to a save where you haven't been killed before but to play it extra safe i would start a new game when going for one shot.

Here's an example of when to reload to avoid a death counting:

Achievement: 100 Times Too Many
This achievement is basically just a grind by letting the Alien kill you 100 times. It can be done pretty much any time you can encounter the Alien but here is a few tips that might help speed it along.

  • "Mission 18 - Tomorrow, Together" is the best spot to farm deaths shown here by Carlos in his video that i'll link at the end.

  • It has to be the Alien that gets the kill, watch your health when around humans.

  • The Alien death count stacks with multiple playthroughs, saves and DLC.

Thank you for taking the time to read this guide and hopefully you were able to clean up those last hidden achievements!

Yeah it will, if you reload the mission save or reload back to a time before you died then you should still get the 1 shot achievement.

When i was going for my 1 shot achievement i died to a face hugger and reloaded the current mission save, started from the beginning of that same mission and still got the 1 shot achievement after i completed the rest of the game.

if a face hugger gets you and you die can you still reload a previous save or the mission save and still get the one shot achievement?

Yeah they should stack with the DLC deaths or at least they did back in 2014. They should count even through multiple play-throughs and saves as well! :)

Hey dude, in the 100 Times Too Many achievement, does the deaths at DLCs such as Last Survivor and etc count as a death to get the achievement?

Uh, yeah, can we please have more guides like this? :steamhappy:

No worries and congrats on the 100%. Thanks for the confirmation, I'll add it to the guide and give credit!

Turned out it was all good, I managed to fully complete the game and get all the achievements! Btw I can confirm that I did get the achievement on the novice difficulty. Thanks a lot for the tips Ghost Town, they really helped! :steamsunny:

Yeah i think so! It seems that achievements unlock while playing novice so One Shot should be possible but i personally did it on normal so i can't 100% guarantee it.

Can you get one shot on novice difficulty?
Waveform  [author] Jul 17, 2020 @ 12:58am
I have to be honest, i'm not sure if it will count as a death or not but if you restart back to the beginning of the mission it happened in then that should put you back on track for the one shot achievement.

It's been 6 years since i made this guide though so hopefully it hasn't been patched and everything works the same way. Best of luck!
