Listing all objectives for every story mission in Samurai Warriors 4 DX.

Introduction

I've been looking around for how to get all the objectives complete so thought I'd collate them all into one place that's easier to view when I'm playing Samurai Warriors 4 DX myself.

These are generally all copied from from replies on GameFAQS[gamefaqs.gamespot.com].

Anyway I hope this helps you as much as it's been helping me!

Legend of the Oda

Oda Stage 1: Battle of Okehazama

• Seize Tange Garrison!: Defeat Ujitoshi Sena in order to take Tange Garrison.
  
• Seize Zenshoji Garrison!: Defeat Hanzo Hattori and Ujiyoshi Yoshida in order to take Zenshoji Garrison.
  
• Ambush, Initiated: Take the path on the cliffs in order to enter the Imagawa Main Camp and ambush the Imagawa Army!
  
• Break through the Eastern Garrison: Defeat Naotora Ii in order to take the Eastern Garrison!
  
• A Retainer's Final Moment: Defeat Naomori Ii and Yasutomo Asahina!
  
• No Enemy Shall Escape: Prevent Nagateru Udono from reaching Washitu Garrison!
  
• Hit Them When Their Guard's Down: Defeat Masanobu Yui in order to take Nakajima Garrison!
  
• Supply Soldiers on the Run: Prevent all the Supply Soldiers from reaching the Retreat Point! You need to be quick for this one.
  
• Siege of Narumi Castle: Defeat Motonobu Okabe, Munenobu Matsui, and Noritsugu Yamaguchi in order to take Narumi Castle!
  
• Distinguishing Oneself (Toshiie): Ensure that Toshiie Maeda defeats Motonobu Okabe, Munenobu Matsui, and Noritsugu Yamaguchi!

Oda Stage 2: Nobunaga's Ascent

• The Final Touches: Escort the Supply Soldiers to Sunomata!
  
• Kanbei's Trap: Defeat Katahide Gamo and Sadahide Gamo!
  
• Persuade Kanbei: Defeat Kanbei Kuroda!
  
• Burn Them with Fire: Defeat Munenori Yagyu and Michikatsu Inoue in order to secure a fire attack point!
  
• The Saito Destroyed: Defeat Tatsuoki Saito and Hanbei Takenaka!
  
• Challenge Aceepted: Prevent Koshosho and Nagafusa Shinohara from approaching Nobunaga Oda!
  
• Defend Sunomata! (Hideyoshi + Magoichi): Prevent enemy officers from infiltrating Sunomata until the Temporary Castle is finished!
  
• Motivated by the Enemy (Mitsuhide): Ensure that Mitsuhide Akechi defeats Yoshitsugu Miyoshi and Junkei Tsutsui!
  
• Destroying One's Own Home (No): Ensure No defeats Shigenori Takenaka, Saizo Kani, and Michitoshi Nagai!
  
• Mop Up: Defeat all enemy officers! Occurs near the end of the stage, unknown trigger but you should be able to get it at least once.

Oda Stage 3: Conflict at Rokujo

• The Siege of Honkokuji: Defeat Nagafusa Shinohara, and prevent Yashichi Uno from being defeated!
  
• An Incomprehensible Ambush: Prevent the Fireball Soldiers from infiltrating Honkokuji!
  
• Cornered: Deat Nobuyasu Atagi and Masayasu Sogo!
  
• Enemy Army Annihilated: Defeat Yasunaga Miyoshi and Junkei Tsutsui!
  
• Sworn Revenge: Deat Tatsuoki Saito and Michitoshi Nagai!
  
• Slaughter the Miyoshi: Prevent Nagayasu Miyoshi, Masayasu Miyoshi and Tomomichi Iwanari from reaching the Retreat Point!
  
• Friends in Trouble (Mitsuhide + Nagamasa): Defeat the Gatekeeper, and rescue the allied officers at the Eastern Garrison! Enter the Eastern Garrison; all gates will shut; switch to other character and defeat the Gatekeeper; can be done on the way to defeat the Fireball Soldier in the South.
  
• Attack of the Mercenaries: Prevent Magoichi Saika from approaching Yoshiaki Ashikaga!
  
• Barring the Way: Prevent Goemon Ishikawa from reaching the Construction Point!
  
• Peril approaches Nobunaga: Prevent the Rifle Captains from approaching Nobunaga Oda! When the stage is nearly over (usually when only Koshosho is left), a battle message will display that there's strange activity at some garrisons; go to one of them and you will discover a Rifle Captain; don't delay, if they appear before you discover them, you won't get this mission.

Oda Stage 4: Retreat from Kanegasaki

• Break through the Enemy's Siege!: Defeat Naotsune Endo and Tsunachika Kaiho in order to secure an escape route!
  
• Crossing Kutsuki: Assist Nobunaga Oda and Mototsuna Kutsuki in their rendezvous attempt! Defeat the generic officer North of Mototsuna and there shouldn't be a problem.
  
• Takatora Todo's Ambush: Defeat Takatora Todo!
  
• Yoshitsugu Otani's Ambush: Defeat Yoshitsugu Otani!
  
• I Won't Do That (Hideyoshi + Katsuie): In order to persuade Oichi, defeat only the Maids!
  
• Great Retreat: Escort all the allied officers to the Retreat Point!
  
• Encounter (Hanbei): Defeat Tatsuoki Saito!
  
• Nagamasa Azai and Yoshikage Asakura: Defeat Yoshikage Asakura and Nagamas Azai!

Legend of the Oda: Continued

Oda Stage 5: Battle of Noda-Fukushima

• Suppression: Defeat Yoshikiyo Kozei and Masakatsu Miyoshi!
  
• Siege of Noda Castle: Defeat Murashige Araki and Shigemasa Toda in order to capture Noda Castle!
  
• Burn Everything: Defeat Tatsuoki Saito in order to prepare for the fire attack!
  
• A Ruthless Attack: Defeat Koshosho, Masayasu Miyoshi and Tomomichi Iwanari!
  
• Helping Fukushima Castle: Prevent Takatora Todo and Yoshitsugu Otani from reaching Fukushima Castle! You'll probably need to split up for this one, since they spawn from opposite sides of the map.
  
• Nobunaga's Harsh Decision: Defeat Oichi!
  
• No Mercy: Defeat 200 enemies in 2 minutes! This popped for me after finishing Suppression, but didn't on subsequent playthroughs. Unclear trigger.
  
• A Deal Made with Magoichi (Hideyoshi): Defeat Yoshitsugu Maeba, Nagashige Toda and Nobuyoshi Hosokawa, without defeating any of the Saika Rebels! This one's easy, just watch where you're hitting (especially on lower difficulties). Magoichi counts as a Saika Rebel too.
  
• Persuading Yoshiaki: Defeat Nagayasu Miyoshi, Harukado Settsu and Fujihide Mitsubuchi! You should get a message about allied defections about the same time that Burn Everything pops; approach the defected allies to trigger this.
  
• Our Fight Is Not with You (Hideyoshi, Hanbei): Defeat Masayasu Sogo and his allies without defeating any of the Peasants! Triggers around the same time as A Ruthless Attack. Again, you'll need to watch who you're hitting, but it shouldn't be too hard.
  
• Preventing an Escape (Nobunaga, Mitsuhide, Ranmaru, Hisahide): Prevent Nobuyasu Atagi and Yasunaga Miyoshi from escaping from Fukushima Castle!

Oda Stage 6: Battle of Nagashino:

• Let the Battle Begin!: Defeat Nobuyuki Sanada and Yukimura Sanada!
  
• First Cavalry Unit's Destruction: Lure Nobutsuna Sanada and Masatane Hara to the palisades!
  
• Weak Spot: Prevent Sakon Shima and Masatsugu Tsuchiya from infiltrating Nagashino Castle!
  
• Easing the Siege on Nagashino Castle: Defeat Masasada Saegusa and Narishige Wada in order to capture Mt. Tobigasu Garrison!
  
• A Desperate Lord: Defeat Nobufusa Baba and his allies, and prevent the allied officers from being defeated!
  
• The Brothers Rally: Defeat Nobuyuki Sanada and Yukimura Sanada!
  
• In Captivity: Defeat Masazumi Kosaka and prevent Sune'emon Torii from being defeated!
  
• Don't Be Careless: Defeat Kunoichi and prevent the Guard Captain at the Storehouse from being defeated!
  
• Key Locations: Defeat Katsusuke Atobe and prevent Sadayoshi Okudaira from being defeated!
  
• The Siege Ends: Defeat Masateru Sanada in order to capture the Western Garrison!

Oda Stage 7: Conquest of Kishu

• Saika Mercenaries Destroyed: Defeat 200 enemy troops!
  
• Payback: Defeat Koshosho!
  
• Assault: Defeat Terumoto Mori, Munekatsu Nomi and Katatane Shirai!
  
• Amidst the Flames: Defeat Munenori Yagyu and his allies!
  
• Resistance: Defeat all the Fireball Soldiers!
  
• A Mutual Foe: Defeat Masanobu Honda and Yoshihisa Mori!
  
• Borrowing a Deployment Map: Defeat Masayasu Miyoshi in order to get the deployment map! Hang around Masayasu after the fire attack triggers to pop this one. You might need to wait a while, this stage has lots of message spam...
  
• Preventing a Plan: Defeat Takakage Kobayakawa! Approach him to trigger this; note the time limit.
  
• Desperate Defense: Defeat Yoshitake Iida and Kataaki Hironaka! These two should arrive late into the battle.
  
• Bandit Assistance: Defeat Goemon Ishikawa! Make sure to to intercept him before he raids your main camp.

Oda Stage 8: Incident at Honnoji

• Defense of the Main Camp: Defeat Kitsugo Murata and Naganori Kanamori!
  
• The Siege of Nijo Castle: Defeat Hidekatsu Fukutomi (Steam Censored) and Yoshikatsu Mori in order to lay a siege on Nijo Castle!
  
• Stop the Reinforcements: Prevent Tatsu Kato and Naonori Akaza from reaching Honnoji!
  
• For My Father: Defeat Nobutada Oda!
  
• A Trial - Slaying a Friend: Defeat Ranmaru Mori!
  
• A Trial - Slaying the Demon King's Wife: Defeat No!
  
• Last Resort: Prevent Nagamasu Oda and Gen'i Maeda from reaching the Retreat Point! There's little margin for error with this one since they're deployed so close to the retreat point, but it's easy enough to camp outside their gates until they're flushed out.
  
• Strike First: Defeat Sadakatsu Murai and Munenobu Murai! Before defeating Nobutada, take the hidden path within Nijo Castle to trigger this.
  
• Shower of Arrows: Defeat all the Archer Captains on top of the tower! Running into the towers with your horse is the quickest way to finish this one.
  
• Main Camp in Danger: Prevent Jinsuke Yuasa and Shoju Ogura from infiltrating the Akechi Main Camp! This should pop about the same time as Slaying a Friend. Immediately have your partner target Shoju and hope that the AI actually gets them there in time.
  
• The Final Trial (Mitsuhide): Ensure that Mitsuhide Akechi defeats Nobunaga Oda with a Musou Attack! Wait out Nobunaga's conversation without killing him to trigger this one - be careful, he has a lot to say.

Takeda Stage 1: Battle of Kawanakajima

• Mountain Climb: Defeat Takaie Suibara to break through the Central Garrison!
  
• The Next Generation: Defeat Kagekatsu Uesugi and Kanetsugu Naoe!
  
• Lord of the Uesugi Army: Defeat Kagemochi Amakasu!
  
• You Shall Not Pass: Defeat Aya and all of the Omyouji in order to lower the bridge!
  
• Hachimanbara Siege: Defeat enemy officers!
  
• Assisting Your Allies (Yukimura + Nobuyuki): Defeat enemy soldiers in order to assist your allies in their march!
  
• Kaizu Castle Defense: Prevent Kagetora Uesugi, Sadamitsu Usami and Sanesada Usami from entering Kaizu Castle!
  
• Taking Out the Pillar: Defeat Kagetsuna Naoe to secure Zenkoji!
  
• Final Duel (Shingen): Defeat Kenshin Uesugi while maintaining a combo count at or above a specified number!

Takeda Stage 2: Invasion of Suruga

• Burning Like Fire: Defeat the enemy troops!
  
• Raging Inferno: Defeat the enemy officers!
  
• A Good Officer Is Hard to Find: Defeat Naotora Ii and prevent Nobukimi Anayama from being defeated!
  
• An Irritated Tiger: Defeat Ujinaga Narita, Tomonao Ueda and Yasutada Haga!
  
• A Maiden and a Warrior: Defeat Lady Hayakawa!
  
• Defend the Betrayer: Escort Nobuoki Asahina to the Summit Garrison!
  
• Fuma's Shadow (Kunoichi + Sakon): Defeat Isuke Ninokuruwa!
  
• Thwarting the Ill Winds: Defeat Kotaro Fuma!
  
• Maiden on the Attack: Prevent Kai from infiltrating the Central Northern Garrison!

Takeda Stage 3: Battle of Mikatagahara

• The Brave Warriors of Mikawa: Defeat Naotora Ii and her allies!
  
• At All Costs: Defeat Yoshinobu Natsume and Tadahiro Torii!
  
• Warriors Off to Battle: Defeat Tadakatsu Honda in order to break through the Oiwake Bridge South Gate!
  
• The Final Garrison: Defeat Ina!
  
• Pride of the Warriors of Mikawa: Defeat the enemy troops!
  
• Hanzo's Attack: Prevent Hanzo Hattori from infiltrating the Takeda Main Camp!

Shikoku Stage 1: Battle of Shimanto River

• Devastation by Bows and Arrows: Defeat all the Archer Captains! Run the towers down with your horse to make this easy.
  
• Protecting the Main Forces: Defeat Akizane Ichimada and Shigezane Ichimada!
  
• Key to the South - Ginchiyo: Defeat Ginchiyo Tachibana in order to prevent Yoshishige Fukutome (Steam Censored) from being defeated!
  
• Key to the North - Muneshige: Defeat Muneshige Tachibana in order to prevent Chikayasu Kosokabe from being defeated!
  
• Nakamura Castle in Danger: Prevent Koshosho, Norisada Watanabe and Genba Eguchi from infiltrating Nakamura Castle!
  
• Danger in the South: Defeat Muneyuki Yoshihiro in order to assist the mobile unit!
  
• Ambush Troops in the South: Prevent Akisumi Usuki and Shigeie Uchida from approaching Yoshishige Fukutome! (Steam Censored)

• Resist the Temptation!: Defeat Toramura Yano and his allies!
  
• Capture the Central Garrison: Defeat Kanehisa Unase, Mitsuyoshi Kamata and Dayu Oteramatsu in order to capture the Central Garrison!
  
• Koshosho's Plan: Prevent Goemon Ishikawa and Munenori Yagyu from infiltrating the East Main Camp and West Main Camp!
  
• Goemon's Attack: Defeat Goemon Ishikawa!
  
• Koshosho's Seduction: Prevent Koshosho from reaching the Target Point!
  
• Capture the Western Garrison: Defeat Sanshiro Umazume in order to capture the Western Garrison!
  
• Attack of the Sinister Beauty: Defeat Mitsutake Shinomiya, Tomonori Furukawa and Kiyohisa Takashi in order to protect the East Main Camp!
  
• Koshosho's Puppet: Defeat Hyogonosuke Akutagawa and Yoshiyuki Kitahara! These two spawn in the enemy camp after some words from Koshosho, so be careful not to defeat her until they're safely down.

Shikoku Stage 3: Invasion of Iyo

• Force Your Way Through: Defeat Motozumi Katsura and Munekatsu Nomi in order to break through the Eastern Checkpoint!
  
• Infiltrating Kurose Castle: Defeat all the Gatekeepers!
  
• Rallying as a Family: Defeat Motoharu Kikkawa and Motonaga Kikkawa!
  
• Defending Kurose Castle: Defeat Kinhiro Saionji and his allies in order to capture Kurose Castle!
  
• Defeating the Mastermind: Defeat Takakage Kobayakawa!
  
• An Army Marches on its Stomach: Prevent all Supply Soldiers from reaching Yuzuki Castle!
  
• Putting on the Charm - Elder Brother (Koshosho): Ensure that Koshosho defeats Naomasa Ono with a Musou Attack!
  
• Putting on the Charm - Younger Brother (Koshosho): Ensure that Koshosho defeats Naoyuki Ono with a Musou Attack!
  
• The Advancing Mori Army: Defeat Mototaka Shishido in order to stop the Mori Army's advance!
  
• The Meticulous Mori Army: Defeat all the Spies! Look out for a lone rice bale to spawn a Spy, then let the red objective arrow guide you to the other two.

Shikoku Stage 4: Battle of Hiketa:

• The Navy Appears: Defeat Yoshitaka Kuki and Yasuharu Wakisaka!
  
• Precious Reinforcements: Defeat Kageyu Sengoku and Gonbei Mori, and prevent Nobukage Kagawa and Yorikane Onishi from being defeated!
  
• Koshosho's Wits: Defeat Masanori Fukushima!
  
• Capturing Toramaru Castle: Defeat Kiyomasa Kato in order to capture Toramaru Castle!
  
• Capturing Sogo Castle: Defeat Nene and Masayuki Sogo in order to capture Sogo Castle!
  
• For a Friend: Defeat Yoshitsugu Otani! Make sure you beat him to clear this before defeating Mitsunari, since they spawn really close.
  
• Capture the First Ship: Defeat Kazutoyo Yamauchi and all the Shield Soldiers in order to capture the First Ship!
  
• Capture the Second Ship: Defeat Masayasu Sogo and all the Sumos in order to capture the Second Ship!
  
• Follow your Master (Gracia): Ensure that Gracia defeats 300 enemy troops in 1:30!
  
• Koshosho's Crisis: Defeat all the Ninja Masters and prevent Koshosho from being defeated!
  
• Ninja Assault (Koshosho): Defeat all the Ninja Masters!

Kinki Stage 1: Battle of Kannonji Castle

• Rescue of the Oda Army Main Camp: Defeat Shigemasa Yoshida and Katamori Shindo!

• Family Feud: Defeat Masahisa Sakai and Tsuneoki Ikeda in order to break through the front line!
  
• Protect the Vanguard: Defeat Ina and Toshiharu Saito, and prevent Kazumasa Isono from being defeated!
  
• Surrender, Please: Defeat Hideyoshi Hashiba!
  
• For Our Master: Defeat Ieyasu Tokugawa!
  
• The Oda Make their Move: Prevent Mitsuhide Akechi and Katsuie Shibata from infiltrating the Azai Main Camp!
  
• Nagamasa's Conviction (Nagamasa): Ensure that Nagamasa Azai defeats 200 enemies in 2 minutes!
  
• Helping the Asakura: Defeat Mototada Torii and Moritsuna Watanabe, and prevent Kagetake Asakura from being defeated!
  
• Naotora Attacks: Defeat Naotora Ii!

Kinki Stage 4: Battle of Odani Castle

Note: This stage is pretty dialogue heavy - be patient when trying to pop some of the bonus missions, especially the "rescue"(s).

• Our Friends Are Fighting: Defeat Nagahide Niwa, Morinari Ando and Hidemasa Hori, and rescue Kiyosada Amenomori and his allies!
  
• Those Who Would Thwart Us - 1: Prevent Katsuie Shibata and Toshiie Maeda from approaching Nagamasa Azai!
  
• Those Who Would Thwart Us - 2: Prevent No and Ranmaru Mori from approaching Nagamasa Azai!
  
• Battle at the Minor Keep: Defeat Hanbei Takenaka and Narimasa Sassa!
  
• Defeat Mitsuhide: Defeat Mitsuhide Akechi!
  
• Battle at the Underground Passage: Defeat Ujisato Gamo and his allies in order to secure an Escape Point!
  
• Rescue Katsumoto: Defeat Kazumasu Takigawa and rescue Katsumoto Katagiri!
  
• Nene's Assault: Defeat the real Nene!
  
• Rescue Hisamasa: Defeat Naomasa Ujiie and rescue Hisamasa Azai!

Tokugawa Stage 1: Battle of Okehazama

• Attack on Owari: Escort all the Supply Soldiers to Odaka Castle!
  
• The Oda Army's Miniscule Forces: Defeat Koheita Hattori, Yoshikatsu Mori and Masatsuna Yanada!
  
• Revenge: Defeat Tsuneoka Ikeda and his allies!
  
• Aware of the Dangers: Defeat Keiji Maeda!
  
• Ieyasu, Honest to a Fault: Defeat Katsuie Shibata and Toshiie Maeda, and rescue Motonobu Okabe and his allies!
  
• Preparing to Attack: Defeat Nobutoki Sakuma, Tadaakira Mizuno and Takahide Kajikawa! To trigger, go to the northern garrison with the red dots inside before beating Miniscule Forces.

Kanto Stage 4: Battle of Mimase Pass

• Rescue of Ujikuni: Defeat Masakage Yamagata and Nobushige Oyamada, and rescue Ujikuni Hojo!
