I think I remember the puzzle @Vengard is talking about. You don't need two players, you can drop an item on the pressure plate to activate the door. I remember it taking me hours to figure that out, and it took several tries because it would drop the item seemingly randomly on an adjacent tile.
@Vengard Yeah, I prefer playing solo, although when I played Darkstone years ago as a child together with my childhood friend long before the game was available on Steam, we were using 2 characters on the field.
I'm almost certain that all quests and dungeons are doable even with only one character. The very least I don't recall the game ever forcing me to restart the whole game for such reason. There are eight dungeons, and the first seven dungeons have a random main quest from three available options (21 different main quest options available in total, 7 per a playthrough). If you could recall which area, dungeon or quest you are thinking about then I could possibly try to figure out what is the problem you were having.
I see you prefer playing with only one character, me too. But if i remember correctly there was one particular dungeon, where you couldn't enter alone, only with two character. One of them had to stand on a pressure plate while the other-one had to active the door, i hated this. The worlds where random and if you got that one, you had to restart the whole game. Btw congrats on beating Draak
Not exactly as far as I can remember. Draak is immortal and regenerates health if he is near death so you need to use the Time Orb (or whatever it is called) to stop him from regenerating and then defeat him while it's in effect. It's one of those bosses that you can't beat without a plot item even if you were ridiculously overpowered.
If I remember correctly then that gold treasure is worth about 180k gold.
