Level of Detail (LOD)
Alien: Isolation uses Level of Detail (LOD) to reduce detail once objects are a certain distance from view, and while this method works well it does cause objects to pop in and out of detail.

The new setting disables the fake fog, which was used to hide the level of detail popping into view.

LOD Ultra (1.0)
LOD Ultra (6.0)
Shadow Map Resolution
Shadow Map Resolution is limited to 2048 in Alien: Isolation by default. 4096 shadow map resolution can be accessed in-game with the modded file for higher resolution shadows.

NOTE: This may result in (more visible) banding in some parts of the game, but the banding also occurs in 2048 and lower shadow map resolutions.

2K (2048) Standard Shadows
4K (4096) Standard Shadows
Horizontal Field of View (FOV)
Alien: Isolation uses Vertical FOV instead of Horizontal FOV. The values have been renamed to avoid confusion and converted to horizontal values in-game. Values up to 100 FOV are enabled.

85 is the recommended value, and any value higher than 85 will result in no legs for Ripley and other first person player models.
Alternate Planar Reflections
Alternate Planar Reflections can be enabled in-game by toggling the setting to Alternate. This setting will ignore the reflection values found in the map files.

I love things to be as realistic as possible, so to me, the perfect reflections from flooring seems WAY over the top. Does it look neat? Sure. Does it look realistic? Eh.

Seems to increase the amount of radiosity, but there is a limit and if you pass it the game will crash. It doesn't just make it brighter, but rather the lights give off more light and more light seems to fill the room in a diffused manner. It's not the same as just turning up the gamma slider.

"Includes Optional Radiosity Settings file, which increases the lighting in the game. "

Would it make more sense to describe that exactly? Is it just brighter?
