Continued Version
I took over this mod to update it to 1.5, but the original dev never came back. So will be keeping this updated indefinitely.

Tired of pawns lounging about during the heat of the battle after their first kill? Or got an easy raid and don't want to micromanage everything? Toggle Search and Destroy to let the AI take control over your pawns while you sit back and enjoy the slaughter, and intervene at any time just in case they screw up.

Can be added to existing saves and should be compatible with any mod (let me know if it's not).

Features
- Activate Search and Destroy so drafted pawns look for and attack enemies automatically.
- Give manual orders while a pawn is in Search and Destroy mode at any time. You'll feel never like you're not in control!
- Depends on the vanilla AI (also used by NPCs), which is well tested and works for many situations. Of course it isn't perfect but it should help reducing micromanagement, especially during easy fights.
- Two separate buttons for melee and ranged pawns. Having two buttons allows you to select a group of pawn, and activate search and destroy only for for instance melee pawns (you'll see, this is very convenient).
- Search and destroy is deactivated when a pawn is undrafted to prevent unexpected situations when you draft a pawn at a later moment.

Dragons from Dragon Descent aren't seeking or destroying.
My rampaging hordes of fire breathing beasties aren't being nature's flamethrowers!

With further testing I found out surprisingly only "[1.6] CAI 5000 - Advanced AI + Fog Of War (continued)"-

The biggest and most bloated out of the 4 auto combat mods I know is the only one which works properly and doesn't cause massive lagging with Combat Extended.

Strangely so the lagging we were talking about before also shows up in "Drafted Auto-Combat" but not the "Seek Enemies" mod.

Sadly Seek Enemies is not so good because it requires pawns to be undrafted and they will just ignore allies getting killed because I think that mod only works on enemies that are within sight.

Unfortunately that means there is no mod in existence that seems to make pawns attack enemies automatically which works properly and doesn't lag.

@Glitchy The only times Search and Destroy doesn't work for me is when I use certain modded races like the Milira or Mugirls. Other modded races work fine with it. Maybe it's related to Milira being able to fly while drafted or Mugirls being mountable.

I was also using it for mechs, with a modpack built all around mechinator stuff, and it works fine. Modded mechs, Combat Extended, works just fine

Hey! I really love this mod, thank you for all your work with this!! I wanted to confirm if this mod is compatible with a new one I added for funsies. I added the dynamic anime combat and now when I try to use search and destroy, my ranged characters will stand unmoving. Even when I try to direct them myself to get them moving, they'll immediately return to a standing position. Can anyone confirm this is the conflict? Thanks!

...... It works for mechs? What in the black magic :shadowheartlaugh: I originally tried to add support for it, but didn't want to mess with their thinktrees, especially when there are other mods that do it way better for mechs
Aug 6 @ 2:01am
Oh, we're not supposed to use this with mechs? It's been working fine for me fortunately. The mechs do disobey the mechanitor range limits, but I'm not complaining when it makes scythers so much easier to manage.

I gave the mod a try with S&D, but it seems to work. If you manage to work out how to replicate the issue, let me know and I can take another look

It should be the mk2 robots from Kraltech Industries (1.6); my pawns were giving them a beating at that time.
