Holy crap a "Let's Play" was done on my game!
What the hell? A pipe game in an RPG? WHY?! Post-Launch comments
Release date: Second Quarter 2015
Benny didn't pick his new profession, times are tough and an opportunity to be an apprentice pipe repairman didn't sound like fun, but he'd be a fool to pass it up in this economy. Just when things start to seem like they might turn out alright after finding out he's pretty good at his new job, an insane law gets passed making it almost impossible to get any repair work of any kind done. Will that be the end of the story? Or will he become a criminal and finally follow through with something in his life? No matter what.

Pipe Animus is a full-length, Japanese style RPG at heart, but it's not just an appeal to Final Fantasy and Earthbound based nostalgia. Besides a unique story and many interesting characters, the typical turn-based combat system has been replaced with a pipe game style puzzle. But don't worry, it's not a 'tacked on' game mechanic, it's deeply integrated with both the gameplay and the story. And it won't be boring, filler to lengthen the story, it includes real-time combat that will have many different types of enemies, traps and even bosses.

  • Story-based RPG with interesting locations, characters and travel.
  • Pipe Puzzle based combat
  • Tons of items to collect, like Wrenches, Stealth suits and tools that have meaningful effects in combat.
  • Original Art, Music and Story!

Indie Game Magazine : "For a sole developer, it’s ambitious, and plenty nostalgic, too."

Let's Play by Kintinue: "I really like this game, this game is a lot of fun" quote time-code(29:46)

This game is a solo project that should be finished around 2nd quarter next year. I hope you'll get a chance to buy this game on Steam but NOTHING except death will stop me from finishing this game.

If it does make it onto Steam, however, I'll be adding in achievements!
So, greenlight or not you'll get a chance to play the final version of my game next year. I've made a lot of progress, that you can see for yourself. Try the web-based demo.

Back to work, Wish me luck! :)

@Axel Aha, gotcha! Well, if it helps, the combat is the only aspect that's not a tradittional RPG. Walking around, inventory, map, etc. Are all traditiional RPG style. It's just when you get into "combat", it's a custom style action pipe game. Either way, thanks for looking!

No, that's what I meant. I meant something that plays like a traditional RPG like Earthbound. I would enjoy one that looks like this. Since it has all handmade assets, it would stand out from the sea of RPGs that use default/RTP stuff. But it still looks fun otherwise.

@Bip Bot, haha, I think I was trying to show adding and removing pipes in that scene but it does look hilariously incompetent now that you mention it. XD

@Axel This game was made with 100% original assets! So they're all "real". Obviously my art style is inspired by Earthbound and a few other 90's rpg's that I liked.

You should make a real RPG that looks like this. Considering most of them here on Greenlight are made with all default assets, it would stand out.

Looks really cool!

Nice, I really like the Mother aesthetic that the game is going for. However, I'm still laughing at how much the person in the trailer is struggling to figure out the simple puzzle @0:18

Sad to think a game can be on greenlight for years just waiting around....

I am upvoting it! Check out my games to!

I've voted it up, looking good. I'm creating a game myself so know how much hard work you have to put it, keep it up:)
