Release date: September 2015

Expand is a meditative video game in which you explore a circular labyrinth that constantly twists, stretches and expands around you. Our focus is to create a beautiful, honest and strangely compelling experience that players can immerse themselves.

Expand started as a game jam game by Chris Johnson back in 2010. As sometimes is the case with game jams the concept of the game changed towards the very end. This new concept was based on a vivid dream and the last several years have been a process of realising that dream. In 2011 Chris Larkin joined the project as a composer scoring the beautiful soundtrack for the game.

We never started the game with an artistic objective we just pursued an idea that we found interesting. Through attending different conventions across the world, we've come to realise that the game reasonates differently with each player. You can see some of the thoughts from players at PAX Australia 2014 by viewing this video.

The soundtrack for Expand will be available to download with the release of the game. You can listen to a track from the game here[].

Expand is a wonderfully original experience that defies easy definition, but when you play it, you will know. You will know you've played something special.

Expand is fiendish and clever, but what really stands out about it is how curiously emotional the experience is. It's definitely one of the most interesting games being developed in Australia right now.

Expand was my favourite game of PAX(Aus) 2014

I'm really excited to see where that game goes.

It's really one of those games that speaks as a form of art.

I played this at PAX Australia last year and the blend of sound and puzzles was a gloriously surreal experience, I cannot wait for the full version to be available.
