Overview
Updates
05/12/25: Added an image of the Hoé Flies tree. I'm checking all my stored items for changes since the NGCity update, but if anyone knows straight up if certain mat colors have changed, please drop a comment so I can update the images.
01/02/25: Added Dulcet Lapis and Geist Mushroom stats, and noted guaranteed story realm locations for certain nodes.
10/27/25: Updated pretty much all the stats, and I *think* I got everything. I'll go over it a couple times in the coming weeks to be sure. I'm mainly missing images of nodes and wood types I haven't run across yet.

About This Guide
This has grown into a bit of a beast. Originally it was just metal and gems, but now almost every mat has its own unique color or texture. I've tried to stay current with all the stat changes, but I may be missing one here and there, or don't have all the info for realm types or whatever. If you spot an error or notice something new in game that isn't on here, let me know and I'll update it asap!

Feel free to use Ctrl+F to search for names, stats (Regen, Stealth, etc), biomes, etc.
About Realm Levels & Tiers
Realm levels are thankfully a bit less confusing since the Realms Rebuilt update, since biome choice (Forest, Desert, Swamp) doesn't affect difficulty anymore, just the card type.

There are 4 difficulties: Explorer, Balanced, Champion, and Nightmare. They can be changed on the lower left either when placing realm cards in a portal or when resting in a bed.

The following are the levels for each major card:
  • Abeyance (0, 10, 25, 40)
  • Sylvan's Cradle (7, 20, 40, 60)
  • Welkin's Reach (15, 30, 55, 80)
  • Magwytch Marsh (22, 40, 70, 100)
  • Gloriana's Tears (30, 50, 85, 120)
  • Hollowed Moor (37, 60, 100, 140)

  • Antiquarian (7, 20, 40, 60)
  • Astrolabe (15, 30, 55, 80)
  • Provisioner (22, 40, 70, 100)
  • Herbarium (30, 50, 85, 120)
  • Gloom (37, 60, 100, 140)
  • Hunt (37, 60, 100, 140)
  • Gauntlet (37, 60, 100, 140)
  • Ascended (67, 100, 160, 220)

About Tiers
Since the Realms Rebuilt update, the numbers don't really matter as much as the type of card used (e.g. Astrolabe vs Herbarium) for finding specific tiered drops:
  • Tier 1: Abeyance realms, from trading with Eoten or Giants, as drops when using a Trickster Card, or looted from POIs or chests
  • Tier 2: Antiquarian and Astrolabe realms
  • Tier 3: From Provisioner to Hunt and in the main 5 story realms
  • Tier 4: Ascended and Gauntlet realms
  • Tier 5: From apex creatures in Fae Vaults, or from POIs that look like large unique trees, floating spires, or colored rock formations
Changing difficulties to manipulate what nodes show up and what tier mats drop doesn't seem to be a thing anymore post RR. Now it just affects how much of a bullet sponge mobs are and how hard they hit.

Tier 5 Mats
Tier 5 mineable materials are unique in that the nodes are able to spawn in their designated biomes at any card tier (e.g. Astrolabe vs Hunt).

The main limitations/factors are:
  • The level of your pick or sickle (100 required, making them impossible to mine early game even if you see one)
  • Whether the tree/spire POI actually spawns for that iteration of the realm. If you don't see any at all, try resetting the realm (checkbox in the lower left when you place a new card in a closed portal). Repeat until you find one with a spawn, or try a different type of card tier.
  • Which of a biome's special ores or trees actually spawn seems to be random, as well as how many appear in a given realm. I've seen from none at all to 3 in one realm so far, and in some cases only one type showed up in a realm and a different one appeared on a reset of the same exact realm.
T5 ores are mined from floating rock spires in Forest biomes, with the exception being Titan's Fingernail trees in Swamps.
T5 gems are mostly mined from fancy rock formations in Desert biomes. The exception is Star Ruby, which is mined from a tree.
T5 plants/edible mats (e.g. Carnute Ichor, Luminous Spores, Britomart's Locks, Hoé Flies, etc) seem to be more frequent in Herbarium and Hunt realms for me, though YMMV with your particular realm's RNG.

I haven't noticed a pattern for what realm type (not biomes, that's straightforward) most T5 mats show up in now, but that doesn't mean there isn't one.

If you know certain T5 mats definitely do or don't spawn with specific realm types and I haven't covered it in their sections, please let me know in the comments.
⚙️Metal Colors
I arranged the metals according to similar colors instead of alphabetically, because some of the differences are more subtle.

The item used for the example is the Ornate Sickle.

I think I covered all of them (31 is a lot to keep track of), minus the different tiers of Bound and Automaton. Once I have enough of those I'll make a few to see if the colors differ between tiers. But meanwhile these cover all the 'types' I could find so far.

Tier 5 Ores
Note 1: Floating rock spires have many spots that are impossible to climb with climbing picks even if you can grapple up to them, so have an umbrella hotkeyed or a companion to revive you in case you fall. Thinned Veil Card highly recommended.

Note 2: Tier 5 minerals only give 1 ore per node, even when using Oberon's Bounty.

Hey man just wanted to inform you of a correction for Einaidia. The stealth rating is 15%, not 50%. Aside from that, fantastic guide

Hey, you've done a great service to this community and I want to say you're awesome for doing this. I understand you're not around much right now, wishing you a speedy recovery, your research has been instrumental. Also, I've found a bunch of Fabled T4 Sere Eoten Wood I'd like to donate for your list, so feel free to message if/when you are able to continue, or let me know any other way I can help ^_^

This should totally be turned into one of those excel spreadsheets that people can view! it would probably , make it easier to update and be shared :) just an idea!

OP hi, I wish you a great recovery and hope everything went well.
I asked around on the discord and found out that Platinum was a thing before RR that is now reintroduced. I've heard that you can get it from the bound with the naughty and nice list minor realm effect active. I think I might have also gotten some from the trickster card effect, but I have not been able to reproduce it. Either way, since it isn't the best material, I get why nobody is really looking into it more. I would just like to know what it looks like on different gear.

@Mewffa: I’ve been in the hospital this month so I haven’t been able to play anything or update, but it’s on my list of things to track down. I seem to have a vague memory of a couple mats simply being removed in the RR update? Everything is a bit fuzzy atm, but I won’t be able to test it till I’m back home.

I'd like to know more about Platinum, but I don't see it in your guide. How come?
