Double Cross

Description
A twisting, crossing track of both danger and serenity. Updated to β 0.3 29/October/2014

“Centuries ago a track was built to test the reactions and intuition of racers, to find the fastest route, to avoid obstacles and to survive. Built in a remote location far from prying eyes racers were free to test but after several tragic accidents the testing track was decommissioned.

Today the track has been found and is the sole plaything of speed junkies and maniacs. The track has been repaired and a city has grown up around the track. Know to thrill seekers as 'Double Cross' due to the winding twisting path it is home to some of the fastest and most dangerous driving in the solar system.”

Welcome speed freaks, to Double Cross. A fearsome track built for one purpose, to destroy cars. The track features blind hills and corners, eight possible routes, bucking track sections and obstacles placed for the sole purpose of catching drivers unaware. Make no mistake you will crash, and the respawn points will then try to kill you again.

Drive fast and keep that accelerator firmly to the floor, I assure you it is the only way to complete the track. Go too slow and you will fall, fail to make jumps and run out of boost. Speed is the key to survival.

That is no idle threat, skilled drivers can drive almost the entire course under full boost. Through trial and error you will learn the track but it is not for the faint hearted. Be prepared to restart over an over to get the best time. Good luck.

Can you Survive The Distance?

Some more decoration in the form of warning arrows for blind obstacles have been added.

This is the Sprint, Speed & Style and Stunt variant of Double cross. this is for casual racing, learning the track and online use primarily. I will upload a Challengo only variant for hard core racers.

Cool thanks. I am aware of the skips and I was thinkabout blocking them, or atleast the main one. but that will be a future update as it is a bit of thinking. This is also the first track I made and I was not full aware of the problems till it was too late. Aslo sorry i just remembered that the Gold/Silver/Bronze times are not set right.

This level was rather refreshing! although i would have done more to avoid creating obvious skips ;) As you go online it kinda makes the level mute to have 2min skips in there, as the people who know them will always win.

Other than that everything is awesome! Colors play nice togheter, split tracks are executed quite nice and the density of the building objects is cool!

Indeed. I should have it done tomorrow. Might add in some more decoration (read: billboards) but it world is busy. Kind of went a little mad. Have you played the level? Feedback is always good.

Oh wow, really? Darn... Well, don't forget to replace them with cooling rings where necessary.

Yes and no. I can re upload it and I likely will btu I will make a few edits first, there are still some small aesthetic things to be done but the main thing is finished.

On the Challenge mode, I thought of that and then tried it, turns out you cannot enable Challenge mode with checkpoints in the level so i do have to make a seperate version unfortunately.

Just checking Challenge in the modes list in the level editor will do for adding it to Challenge mode; there's no need to upload a separate item. Also, you can fix that preview image just by re-uploading :)
