Introduction

Welcome to the Earthlock walkthrough and guide. This will be a complete walkthrough of the game including all the achievements along the way for the Platinum achievement. I originally wrote this guide for PS4, but I am adopting this specific instance to playing on an Xbox controller for purpose of posting to Steam.

Note: For original backers of the Earthlock Kickstarter, this game is partly different from the originally released Earthlock: Festival of Magic.

The original copy has been completely replaced by this extended and upgraded version, and is considered in many respects to be a brand new game. Keeping all the best parts from Earthlock: Festival of Magic, Snowcastle Games have made a ton of improvements while adding loads of new stuff:

  • Craftable weapons and equipment
  • New abilities in the overworld
  • Numerous new side quests
  • New scenes, new creatures and new NPCs
  • In addition to all the strange plants you now can grow trees to bring kittens and other cute critters into the world
  • Treasure Maps to discover more treasures
  • The ability to sell as well as buy stuff
  • Loads of new animations, story additions, smarter NPCs and tweaks of every kind to make the game even more engrossing, enjoyable and replayable

Although its not likely you will be playing the original Earthlock: Festival of Magic game, I wanted to point out this guide is geared toward the new update game that replaced it. Much of the main game is the same and this guide could be used for it, but there will be various bits that are not present in the original version that you would have to sort out/disregard as you go through.

You'll notice the guide has a lot of sections and some of them are really short and others fairly long. I personally like my guides split up into area segments for what you are doing, so I have elected to do that for this guide to help break down each area you are working in and make it easier to come back later if need to and pick up where you left off.
Screen Orientation
In most places, the screen orientation is set and directions given will go back and forth between stating "go north" or "at the bottom".

I will likely use these interchangeably:

  • North / Top
  • East / Right
  • South / Bottom
  • West / Left

In the overworld sections, the camera can be moved around to change the orientation of how you are looking at things. Generally this will always have a default orientation when entering the overworld. I will be giving directions based on this default, or in some instance, I may provide an orientation change such as "with the building placed behind you", such that it creates a different orientation than given when entering the overworld. Otherwise, I will use a direction as it relates to looking at the map.
Overworld Abilities
Each character that joins your party has their own unique overworld abilities that are used when running around, outside of combat. Overworld abilities are trigger by tapping where appropriate.

Amon uses Scavenging to rumage through the Scrap Piles you see in the overworld

Gnart uses his harvesting to pick up plants you see in the overworld

Olia uses her Taunt to call nearby enemies to come after her

Ive uses her scouting to sneak past enemies by enter stealth mode. But if you get too close, you will still get noticed

Taika uses her Hunt Treasure to sniff out and dig up buried items

PAT uses his Hover Mode to move around the world much faster that anyone else
Mechanics & Descriptions
There are a few things in the game that aren't entirely explained outright, unless you read through the Tutorial page on in the menu screen. I will just preemptively give some of those explanations here.

Firstly, during combat you have your selection wheel

This will be how you access your various use options. Starting on the bottom and working left around the wheel.
The very bottom one is called the "Special Stance" and is only available when the Battle Bond bar is filled and functions as a special ability selector:

The next, to the left, is going to be items selector. Basic concept of using your healing items.

After gaining more abilities you may notice these pagination dots above the ability bar

If you click on the D-pad in the direction of the screen you're on, you will screen the selections to a new page with additional abilities to choose from. This being, if you are in items, click left multiple times to move pages - if you are on abilities, click up multiple times - etc.

After that, at the top, will be your skill selection

Lastly, the right most is your utility selector

In here you'll have the following options:

  • Swap - swaps combat pairs to change position, which will allow for activating different Bond Perks
  • Feign Death - This is your "escape" option, to attempt running from battle
  • Rest - hold your action for the turn to regenerate 1 amri segment

Slightly discussed during the game opening; characters have amri "points" and different abilities have different costs. Characters naturally regenerate 1 amri each turn but if you need more than 1 for a skill, you will need to rest. If you were at 1 amri, you will then be at 2 amri and able to use a 2 cost skill

One thing to be aware of, is you have to double press the same button to activate the skill you want to use.
For instance, in the screen above, if you want to use Feign Death - you will hit to select it and you will get a description of what it does. You will then need to click again to activate it. Clicking any other button will back out of the skill for you to select another one.

Another thing mentioned briefly is about Bonds. As a bond pair battle together, they gain bond XP and learn certain perks at various bond levels. In the image below, you can see that Gnart and Olia have a starred bond pair. Meaning their bond ability has been mastered and can be used when unpaired.

You will want to use the Pairs screen to move characters around frequently to level up their bonds and continue access to the various bond perks available. One more use of the Pairs section not openly mentioned, is the ability to chance Stances outside of battle. The game talks about doing so in battle, but you can use the Pairs menu to change outside of battle.

When you click on Pairs, if you pay attention to the descriptions at the bottom, you can click on the character your cursor is on the change the stance.

This is very helpful for setting up stances prior to going into certain battles, particularly bosses.
Prologue
As with all RPGs, you will be introduced to the game through a cutscene and then you will be in control of Ivory "Ive" Lavender.

Have Ive open the chest (1/50) in her room and head out the door on the right. Enter the door on the right side of the hallway, and run to the far side of the room to find another chest (2/50) in the bottom (closest to the screen) right corner. Poke around and chat with whoever you like before approaching Instructor Vera at the podium and speaking to her.

Vera will lead you through your basic combat tutorial. Lastly, you'll get to try on your own, be sure to take advantage of the first strike by hitting when all enemies have noticed you/have '!' over their heads. Next, you'll also have Taika, the stormdog, in your party to try out as well. The trick to his AOE abilities is that the damage it does is divided by the number of enemies on the field, so the more enemies alive, the less damage each one will take from abilities like Fire Breath.

Once you've finished the tutorial, watch the short scene to receive your Flight Clearance and then head through the door on the right. As soon as you enter the hangar bay, there is a cage against the wall just north of the door. Head up and let the crow(1/6) out of its cage. On the far right side of the bay, there is an almost-sneaky chest (3/50) in the top (farthest from the screen) right corner. When you're ready, speak with Deck Commander Riggan in the center of the room. Go through the door on the right for another brief scene then head back to Riggan and tell him Yes!
Zabirum Temple I
New Enemies - Sand Beetle, Cherby Fire, Boss (Bestiary 3/74)

Meet Amon and Uncle Benjo! Before entering the ruins, check out the frog-man shaped Onurasi Statue on your right, this will be your tutorial for save points. Head on in and be sure to practice drawing your enemy and then hitting to get that first strike. Each time you meet a new character, in battle they will give you a brief overview of what their stances are/do. Leave Amon in his Thief stance; you have a limited amount of ammo at the moment for his gun, and you can get a nice head start on common crafting items and Daler (money) using Steal. Continue forward, but following the path left, check behind the slanted pillar on the right for a sneaky chest (4/50). Take out two sand beetles, keep going until you see a chest (5/50), and head up the stairs for another fight. There will be a brief scene showing our eventual destination.

Follow the path around to the stairs. There's a Beetle at the bottom and 2x Cherby Fires to the upper right. Take them out (drawing them all at once preferably), pop open the chest (6/50). Follow the path down and left until you hit a scene where you'll receive the Amri Attractor that allows you to manipulate the colored pedestals in dungeons.

There's nothing to be done with the stairs leading down, for now, so Use and Activate the blue pedestal as Uncle Benjo suggests and enter the temple. Approach the blue lantern on the right and charge your new Amri Attractor with blue Amri. Charge up the pedestal in front of you and Activate it to raise 3 platforms with blue markings. Head left to grab the chest (7/50) containing your first Kiss of Lys (revive potion), then back to center and north. Head left, around, and down some stairs to the lower floor. Head toward the right and you'll see stairs on the right side of the floor, ignore the stairs and head south across a red marking to find a red Amri lantern. Charge your Attractor and head up the right-side stairs and around until you find the red pedestal. Light it up and Activate it.

Cross the platform bridge you just raised and you'll be back at the center with the inactive green pedestal. Go south and deactivate the blue pedestal to lower the blue platforms. Head right across the red-marked platform for a chest (8/50) and the green lantern at last. Charge up your Amri Attractor, go back to re-activate the blue pedestal to get your platforms back, and then charge and activate the green center pedestal to the room exit. Use healing balms if you need to before going through the door...

Temple Guardian

Strategy

This isn't a tough boss. Have Uncle Benjo use the Fire Blast you found and Amon can Steal.
If you want a quicker battle, you can use Stab or switch to Blaster stance.

Once the Temple Guardian is down, you'll watch a scene and obtain

Zaber/Overworld Map - Northwest Desert I
When you have control again, you'll find yourself back in Benjo and Amon's hometown. Your current task to go out into the wild to catch a creature called a Dozy Bibi. These are the first of three types of bibis you must catch across the world of Umbra for the Critter King achievement. We'll check out the rest of the town in a bit, for now, go all the way right to enter the Overworld Northwest Plains. The bibis you need are the little blue bug you see flying around. You can catch them by chasing them and rapidly pressing . Nab your 4 Dozy Bibis, head back to Zaber by approaching it and pressing again, then go all the way left and into your/ Uncle Benjo's home for a scene. Go upstairs for another scene and the introduction to the Talent Board. With that done, speak with Uncle Benjo briefly and then leave the house.

Go right and up the stairs to find the town square. There is another crow(2/6) to release on the left so do that. Chat with the guy in brown, Ifridos, to activate the sidequest NorthWest Scavenging. Every Overworld area of Umbra has scrap to scavenge for crafting materials, but you'll need to find all 20 scrap piles in each area for the Supreme Scavenger achievement. One of the stalls on the left is a shop and if you've been Stealing you can probably afford a couple of Mystical Treasure Maps. Get those or some more Healing Balms, if you're low. The stall on the right side of the town square is Lady Evandu's stall, go talk to her. Enjoy a scene where Gnart will join your team and you'll obtain

Chat with whoever else you like, save your game at the Onurasi Statue, then head down the stairs and to the right leave town.

Overworld Map - Northwest Desert

New Enemies - Earth-Water Mirror, Spitting Rooter, Little Marvel (Red), Chompino (Bestiary 7/74)

At this point, you should have the full menu available to you by pressing , feel free to familiarize yourself. Every character has a unique exploration ability and you switch between characters by holding RB and directing the indicator to another party member. Amon can scavenge the scrap piles you see to your northeast. Gnart is able to harvest the plants you see around and also moves a little faster. Switch to him, grab some more bibis and plants, then switch back to Amon and head north/left-ward. Avoiding the ramp that heads NE. Along the way you'll see some enemy groups, take it easy with those for now, and if you get into trouble you can go back to Uncle Benjo's house and rest upstairs for a heal. Keep Amon in Thief mode so you can start gathering resources with Steal and Gnart will be your healer. Be sure to pick up every plant, bibi, and scrap you see. On your way north you'll find the Northwest Trading post on the right, stop in there for a minute.

Time to pick up some sidequests to fulfill various achievements. Talk to fellow Professor W. Porkins. When picking plants, there is a chance you will get a 'Strange Seed Pod'. If you've you gotten one, you'll see a 'Strange Seed Pods' in gold. If you see it choose that option one time for a brief scene to receive the Muddy Seed for the Fruits of Labor achievement. You're able to do this multiple times but it's not helpful. If you don't see it, you can come back later after you get one.

Otherwise, choose the Speedy Beans option and agree to bring him 10. Next speak with J. Herb about Catching Bibis. Speak with him again and if you already have 5 Dozy Bibis, otherwise you will need to go catch some more. There will be more plants and Dozy Bibis coming up you can finish gathering Speddy Beans, Bibis, and potentially get the Strange Seed Pod before moving on to the next section.

Once you have enough Bibis select the topic to turn those in to receive a Dozy Bibi Token. You can reactivate the quest and repeat until you've run out of bibis. Keep catching and turning in until you have 5 Dozy Bibi tokens total, but we can do that as we continue on. J. Herb also has a shop, grab Healing Balms if you've been using a bunch, but it's better to drop all your Daler on treasure maps if you can. Head back to the Overworld and north we go.

Gather and battle your way across the whole weirdly-shaped peninsula, noting that plants and enemies regenerate over time but scrap piles do not. As soon as you start to enter the peninsula area, there is a scrap pile hiding behind the trees to the left that can be overlooked - make sure to grab it. You should encounter every enemy in the above list except the Earth-Water Mirror (they'll appear in a few more levels). Once you've got 11 scrap, head back towards the mainland but then dip south through the archway and enter the leaning building to head into Ramoo.
Ramoo/Ramoo Villa
New Enemies - Boss, Droogo Brawler, Droogo Shaman, Droogo Blaster, Boss (Bestiary 12/74)

After the cutscene head left and grab a chest (9/50). Save your game at the Onurasi statue and then speak with Scholar Lucia by the entrance to pick up the sidequest Lost Books. This quest must be completed for the Well-Traveled achievement. Head down and right to the next screen. There's a fight, open a chest (10/50), keep heading right. Fight again and head right to stumble upon...

Chomper

Strategy

Weak Agaist: Slashing Damage

We meet Olia during this fight. She has a bladed offensive stance (Warrior) and a taunt-and-counter defensive stance (Veteran).
Keep her in Warrior using Slashing Strike. Amon should Steal while keeping Gnart on them heals for a swift victory.

Once you've won, check out your pair Bonds. If you've already got a star with Amon and Gnart, switch Amon with Olia so you can build their bond but still have access to Gnart's Regen Special. Grab your chest (11/50) with the Crank item and go through the NE door. Bop off some Chompers and walk through the moss-covered corridor and root out some Rooters. Open up the chest (12/50) with your second crank and the recipe for Gnart's Sacred Song Bowl, necessary for the Master Engineer achievement. Go back the way you came and Inspect the glowing Frog statue for some foreshadowing. Then put the cranks on the slots either side of the locked gate. Head on in for a scene. Afterward, enter the building through the broken windows.

Ramoo Villa

Now is a good time to add a couple of tiles to Amon and Gnart's Talent Boards, if you haven't already. Individual character strengths will be obvious along the way, but all of them benefit from having at least one Agility tile and a couple of Resilience/Armor tiles depending on where their defenses are lacking. Easily nab two new abilities for Amon and try them out as you like, but choose Cure and Haste for Gnart, unless you've been using Focus stance a lot.

Cross the make-shift bridge for a brief explanation of our goal The glowy door is locked, so we've got to find that key. Save at the Onurasi statue first, then head to the right side of the room for a chest (13/50) and take the first of Lucia's books (1/5) off the table. Upstairs we go. Follow the balcony, open the chest (14/50) then head through the door. There's a new enemy looking to sneak up on you at the top of the room. Before fighting him, switch Olia to her Veteran stance to try out her powerful counter-attack. Be on the lookout for obviously melee enemies to take advantage of this stance, but don't hesitate to spend a turn to get Olia back to Warrior if facing a group of mostly-ranged.

Once he's down, head to the very bottom of the room to grab a chest (15/50). Head back up and through the NW door. The next room has 4 baddies you can draw all at once if you're ready. Once the room's clear, grab another of Lucia's books (2/5) off the shelf near where you entered, then leave through the far-left door. Clear the baddies and open your chest (16/50). Take Lucia's third book (3/5) from the bottom-left shelf and head out the door on the bottom-right back onto the balcony. Grab another book (4/5) for Lucia off the nearby dresser and open the chest (16/50) on the landing. Back to the balcony and down for another chest (17/50), then go through the door behind you.

Open this lovely chest (18/50) containing our Throne Room Key at last along with the Runic Band, a unique crafting item. You'll also wanna grab Lucia's final book (5/5) from the lamp table by the bed. To the balcony once again and down to the next screen. Open the chest (19/50) to the left, then push the nearby pillar for a new bridge back to the starting area. Save and make sure everyone's health is good and pair Gnart with Amon. Then go through the door and approach the tree...

Varluk Drooh

Strategy

Varluk hits hard, so keep Gnart on heals and use Balms generously. Olia should focus on Varluk while Amon takes out his Shaman underlings. Don't worry to much about debuffs, you're better on focusing down his health, but if HP is good Hasting Olia doesn't hurt.
If someone gets knocked out towards the very end of Varluk's health bar, just finish him off because everyone will still get XP.

Your reward for victory is the Ammo Master Perk recipe (Perk Talent 1/19) Tile and one copy of it as well.

Next, you'll meet Frogboy, who is just the best and fills you in on some ominous happenings. Before following him, inspect the tree for another scene and go left around to its back to find a very sneaky chest (20/50) containing the Amri Tree Branch, another unique crafting item. Head back to the Onurasi statue that introduces the ability to warp and takes you to Plumpet Island, which will also give you
Plumpet Island
This will be your party's home base and where you'll earn multiple achievements related to crafting and exploration. Every character has a spot just for them that compliments their strengths. This is also where your party will get to know each other over time.

For now, follow Frogboy west to learn about the Farmoury, much to Gnart's delight. Frogboy gives you two seeds, Rock Spud Minor and Lysrose Minor(Plants 1-2/8). Plant those where you like and water them to the top of their gauge and wait. Once they glow, you can harvest them and bring them back to Frogboy to learn about item/ammo crafting. You'll get the recipes for Spud Blast and Healing Balm+, so make one of each. Talk to Frogboy outside again and he'll give you another plant Fire Tongue Minor (Plant 3/8), used for making Amon's Fire Blasts. Plant and water it, then head back to the center of the area and down the stairs, then left to find Amon's Forge for weapon crafting. Alas, you probably don't have all the materials you need for now.

Head back towards the stairs for a brief scene then up to the north tip of the map to learn about the Gallery of Custodians, Olia's meditation spot. Frogboy gifts you the recipe for Earth Master(Perk Talent 2/19) and some talent crafting materials, along with a couple of Ability tiles for Olia. Craft the Earth Master and head back out and down the right stairs to meet Frogboy at his tent. If you look to the right you'll see one of the crows you let out perching on the crane.

Frogboy is running a crafting supply shop here. Buy the Fire Blast recipe, and you should have enough to buy the Oar of War recipe then exit. Choose the Barnacle Hunting option to get a quest run down. Then do it again to start the requests for each of the Barnacle types, so you have the sidequest for all of them. If you've been gathering, you probably already have the unlisted Toxicle, so take a moment to run down to the beach past Amon's Forge and let it out. A scene will trigger when you reach the right spot to let the Toxicle free.

Head back to the Farmoury Garden and harvest/water your plants! Developing the garden is tied to several achievements, but you want to do it anyway to expand your ammo arsenal, cover your bases on status/health items, and have plenty to sell towards Treasure Maps and recipes. Craft Spud and Fire Blast ammo and Balms as you can. Head down the center stairs, following to the right, to the doorway at the bottomof the island. The door here goes to the Storage Room. You can go into it just to have a look. It doesn't have much to show for it now, but as you progress the story and find collectibles, it will become rather impressive. Now head back and click on the giant Onurasi for a scene.

With the Hopper you're now able to warp to Ramoo Villa. Do so and let's get back to Zaber. Fight your way back to Scholar Lucia to complete Lost Books to receive the Mage's Song Bowl recipe, save nearby if you like, then leave Ramoo to the Overworld. With the Arch/Building behind you, head west then south, catching dozy bibis and collecting plants along the way. Visit the Northwest Trading Outpost. You should now have enough Speedy Beans to satisfy W. Porkins, if you haven't already. Check-in with J. Herb and get to 5 Bibi tokens if you haven't. You'll then be able to turn them in for a Golden Bibi Lure. Buy up all the Treasure Maps you can and continue on. Try drawing bigger enemy groups (Olia's exploration ability helps if you're ready!), and make sure you take on an Earth-Water Mirror. Olia's Veteran stance does clean work against Cherbys and Beetles. Find Zaber in the SW corner of the area.
Zaber/Overworld - Northwest Desert II
Head towards Benjo's house for a short scene that gives our next destination, and pick up the weapon for Amon right by the house. Right next to Benjo's house is a circular plant bed, the perfect spot for your Muddy Seed from earlier. If you already planted it somewhere else, no biggie (unless you put it in the Farmoury Garden, that's a no-no!), but Zaber has the exact number of plant beds you need for the achievement so I like planting them here. Next, head up the center stairs and speak with Lady Evandu. Across the square, buy up more Treasure Maps and the Kiss of Lyr recipe if you can afford it and save at the Onurasi. Notice that you can now warp to Plumpet Island from this and any other Onurasi statue, and doing so will heal your party. When ready, head back downstairs and all the way to the right to leave town.

Overworld Map - Northwest Desert

New Enemies - Desert Crabler, Fire Djinn, Coast Beetle (Bestiary 15/74)

First equip Amon's new Blaster and switch up your pairs, then catch some bibis and head back to the Trading Post. Turn in your bibis to J. Herb and your Beans/Berries to W. Porkins(this only has to be done once each) and head back south. Still ignore that ramp for now and head back south-southeast from Zaber. Follow the southern wall, hopefully, finish off your bibi-catching, and try your hand against some new enemies. Amon's Blaster stance will come in handy with the high-flying Coast Beetles. There are also some scrap piles along the path. Ignore the C-shaped plateau for now and enter the Temple.
Zabirum Temple II
New Enemies - Ympkin, Red Amri Lantern, Blue Amri Lantern, Yellow Amri Lantern (Bestiary 19/74)

Save your progress of course, and I highly recommend warping to Plumpet for heals and you might as well harvest in the garden a bit. If you finished getting the 5 Bibi Tokens and turned them in for the Golden Bibi Lure, you may have seen one show up / caught it by this point as well. In the case you have the Golden Bibi, you will get a short scene of Amon releasing it when entering the Garden area - this will increase the grow rate by 25%!

Craft around 50ish of both Blast ammo (150 of each material is needed), which may take some waiting around for your plants to process enough materials. As you harvest, you plants will level up and create more materials, so it shouldn't take too long. If you have extraneous things, you can sell some to Frogboy. Stop by the Forge too and make note of the materials you might want to buy from Herb, you should be quite close to the Sacred Song Bowl by now. it's also a good time to fiddle on the Talent Boards. I suggest adding stat boosts while aiming to get to the end of the board as soon as possible. Give Amon the Ammo Master perk obviously and give Earth Master to Gnart for now. Switch up your pairs if you haven't already (I won't remind you of this forever!). When ready, warp back to the Temple.

Battle your way down the familiar path until you reach a scene that reveals your next goal, then follow the same path as last time to the Temple entrance. But this time take the SE stairs we avoided before. Beat up a Fire Djinn and a Red Amri Lantern, which leaves a floating red energy ball where it died. Use it to charge Amon's Amri Attractor, charge and then activate the nearby red pedestal, and enter the now-raised gate.

Run down the hall left until you reach a skinny door between two torches. Time for a puzzle similar to our last visit. From the tri-color pedestal, head left and switch to Gnart with RB to walk under a fallen pillar. There's a Blue Amri Lantern on the other side, defeat it and charge Amon's Attractor from the blue energy ball it leaves. Return to the tri-color pedestal and charge its blue layer. Go back to the blue energy ball, charge the Attractor again, and return to the tri-color. Walk up the screen from it and down the stairs when the camera changes to find a blue pedestal to charge and activate.

This opens the area to your left, so run in there and beat up the Red and Blue Lanterns. Use their energy to charge and activate the nearby dual-colored pedestal, and you'll hear a gate open. Grab another red Attractor charge and return to the tri-colored pedestal. Charge its red layer and then go back down and get one more red Attractor charge from the same spot. Activate the blue pedestal to open the area to your right. Run to the back of it, spend your red charge on the pedestal, and activate it.

Go back to the tri-colored pedestal then left and under the pillar. Now walk on the now-raised pillar to the back of the room, follow the path, and defeat a Blue Lantern. Charge the Attractor, give that to the double-blue pedestal on the right-end of the path, charge Attractor again, give it to the double-blue pedestal again, and activate it. Mmm yes, another gate opening sound. Head back to the tri-color pedestal.

Go down the stairs to the single-blue pedestal and activate it to close off the right area again. Run back around under the pillar, where you fought the Blue Latern and continue south to a platform where you can use the stone gate as a bridge heading right to battle a Yellow Amri Lantern. Charge the Amon's Attractor with the leftover energy ball, spend it on the nearby yellow pedestal and activate it to open the gate just below you. Take that new path back to the single-layer blue pedestal that controls the bridges and activate it. Return to the yellow energy ball pedestal and now the gate in front of you will be lowered so you can open a chest (21/50) containing plenty of good stuff especially the Earth Scepter recipe. Run back and grab a yellow charge then return to the tri-color pedestal. Charge the yellow layer and at last activate this thing!

Leave the Temple and cross the new bridge heading left just outside this entrance to continue. Follow the path all the way down and find Ive. After her scene, you'll unlock:

And in your inventory, you'll find a new seed for the garden, Tooth Cactus Minor (Plant 4/8), and some Lance recipes for Ive's ranged Slinger stance. Play with your new pair options then head left through the doorway for the next area. Before running right into the flames here, stop by the nearby Onurasi statue and warp back to Plumpet.

Frogboy will provide Ive with her own safe haven, the empty Storage Room from before where she can study in peace and quiet. As you progress through the game, new odds and ends will be added to this room, and filling it completely earns the Well-Traveled achievement. Right now you should just have Varluk's hat on the left-side globe and a set of green books from Scholar Lucia. There are maps on the right-side table, but we can't use them yet, so leave the Storage Room be for now.

At Amon's Forge, you can craft the Earth Scepter, though you won't need it for a while. Pop up to Gnart's Farmoury and plant the Tooth Cactus Minor seed. If you've been harvesting and watering diligently, most of your plants should be at leaf level 3 and maybe have even mutated to give you a new seed! Every plant has three leaf levels(increasing the amount you get per harvest) and each plant species has three strength levels. So plant your new seed to grow a stronger version of the plant you already had, which you can use to craft stronger ammo and items.

Spend several minutes harvesting, then enter the hut to craft what you want. Finally, explore the new conversation options between your party members, then warp to the Goblin Camp.
Goblin Camp/Nomad's Hoist
New Enemies - Gobringer, Goblineer, Goblinator, Boss (Bestiary 23/74)

Some of the enemies in this area like to fly, so keep Amon and Ive in their projectile stances, and try to handle them one group at a time. Follow the path until you hit some stairs, go down those, and keep going right and around a corner to find a chest (21/50). Return to the stairs and dip south onto the metal walkway and pull the lever on the right side of the windmill. Now head left past the stairs and keep battling your way through to a scene.

Save at the Onurasi, return to Plumpet for ammo if you need to. If you don't, at least make sure everybody is topped up on health and you've done as much as you can on the Talent Board. You want to have Ive's First Aid for her Scout stance, and replace one of Amon's debuff abilities with Gouge. Olia will benefit from Attack Expertise. For Gnart, get to the Master Health tile if you can, but otherwise, his Magic is the main priority, but give his defenses and evasion a couple of tiles on his board too. Now chase the Goblin! And at the top of the hill...

Strategy

This dude deals massive damage and has a melee counter-attack. Amon and Ive should be using ranged attacks.
Pair them to get their ammo Bond bonus! If they get to Special, use Amon's.

The Gobking is also Taunt immune, but have Olia in Veteran stance and let him come after her. You should have the Attack Expertise talent card (goes into a diamond slot). Placing that on Olia ahead of the battle will be beneficial. Instead of attacking directly, cycle Attack Expertise to raise a stackable +30% Attack up stat and Resting.

If the Gobking attack hers in this manner, she will counter attack and won't get counter attacked back. As always, Gnart's on Regen duty. Use his Special generously.

After the Gobking is defeated, you'll get a scene and your reward is the Energised Talent recipe (Perk Talent 3/19) and an Ancient Machine Part for later. Tucked into the Gobking's lair is a chest (23/50) full of good stuff and inside is the Aqua Weed Minor seed (Plant 5/8). Don't forget to release the crow (3/6)!

Our Goblinator has escaped into the nearby mine. Head left past a currently unusable mine cart. There are few enemies inside the mine and they're spaced a bit far to make easy groups, so use Olia's whistle skill with . The Goblinator with the Lift Handle is in the very last group in the back of the cave. Open the nearby chest (24/50) for the Water Blast recipe and the Mine Cart Wheel. Head back out to the broken cart for a scene. Follow the tracks back toward the now accessible area, but before we pass through let's head back to the Island.

Plant and water that Aqua Weed Minor, and harvest your Farmoury Garden for a few minutes. Visit the hut to craft items and ammo you can/want, especially that new Water Blast.

Now head into the Hall of Custodians and check out what you need for the Energised talent tile. It's a good tile for every member of your party to have, so I suggest buying the materials from Frogboy to make a copy for everyone. Getting a second Ammo Master for Ive is also helpful. Once you're feeling well-equipped, hit up the giant Onurasi to warp the Nomad's Hoist (it and the Gob Camp share an icon on the map), and don't forget to save.

Nomad's Hoist/Goblin Camp

Now head left from the statue under the arch for a scene with a mysterious stranger. Afterward, grab the nearby chest (25/50) containing some nifty stuff! Plenty of tiles to scoot your team down their boards. I recommend equipping the the Stun ability for Amon and trading it with Adrenaline Rush. There's also the recipe for Quickstep (Perk Talent 4/19) and one copy. This one is lovely for a character you find yourself switching stances a lot. Follow the path left and south for another short scene. Afterward, there's another chest (26/50) just to your right with the Electro Overdrive, a unique weapon part. When you're ready, exit the area south.
Overworld Map - Burning Desert
Overworld Map

New Enemies - Shimmerbug, Green Quadragon, Bone Stag (Bestiary 26/74)

The first thing you'll notice upon your arrival is a new type of bibi, the Fiery bibi. You'll need 50 of these jerks, twice as many as before, to satisfy their related side quest so start trying to catch them now when it's convenient but don't stress. The secret to their capture is having Gnart pick a Speedy Bean when one is close because otherwise, they are just too fast. It's also possible to herd one into a corner and grab it as it tries to escape. So experiment with that while heading south-southeast. There is also a new plant out here called Wisdom Roots, so start collecting those along with any scrap for Amon you find. Once you've grabbed all that and run out of Speedy Beans for bibi catching, run into the nearby swirly-stormy area for a scene.

Burning Desert

New Enemies - Red Barghest, Simoorg, Quadragon, Boss (Bestiary 30/74)

Alas, Olia has been called to other tasks. Head back to Plumpet if you need ammo and save. Obviously, Water Blasts work rather well here. This area can try one's patience because if you're in the direct sun for too long, you collapse so plan your moves carefully. The first statue is north-ish right in front of you. The next one is north-west and has a chest (27/50). Next, you'll run due north, under the left side of the broken structure. There is a teensy shadow on the left side of the statue of a man holding a block right in front of you. You'll have to have a battle to make it there, but thankfully time spent in battle doesn't count against your sun-stroke time. Defeat the bugs and be ready to hit the shadow right after. Next, you'll go sharply north-west again and find another chest (28/50). It might feel like you are barely going to make it, but you will! You'll like encounter a battle on the way to this arch or the next one that is slightly east/north-east from here.

The next stop is north-east, possibly with another battle. Make your way to the other end of this structure and the next one is right in front of you. From there, slight north-east again. Scooch around to the other side. From here, you can see an Onurasi statue in the north-east corner of your screen beneath a huge structure; run for it like your life depends on it! You'll hit a quick scene and then a fight. If you're having trouble, use Amon's Mark Target to boost damage. Upon defeating the savage Quadragon, you'll receive the Spark Bloom Minor seed (Plant 6/8) as well as the Fire Blast+ recipe! Taika will be freed from her cage and you'll unlock:

After proper introductions, run for that Onurasi again and return to Plumpet.
Side Questing I-I
Frogboy will show Taika to the beach, her favorite hangout spot, and where you can practice her exploration skill, Dig. This one's a little more complicated than the others. When Taika is the walking character on the Overworld, you'll run across spots called Hunt Treasure. Hit and you'll see the radius of the Treasure area. Wander around that radius until Taika wags her tail excitedly and hit again to dig! If you're in the right spot, a chest or item will appear. Some Treasure areas have multiple items in them, so you'll know you've found everything when the radius disappears. Try it out on the beach to find some Earth cores for crafting "dropped" by the Toxicle and a chest (29/50) containing Ive's alternate outfit. Every character has an alternate appearance, somehow. Most are like Ive's, tiles that can be switched for their default pic on their Talent Board. If you can't find all the spots on the beach, no worries, it's much easier out in the Overworld.

Next, stop by Amon's Forge and make note of where your at with materials for the Sacred Song Bowl. Pop up to the Farmoury Garden and harvest your plants. By now your Rock Spud Minor and Fire Tongue Minor plants will definitely mutate, giving you new seeds. Plant these along with the new Spark Bloom Minor. I like to spend some time harvesting new plants until they level up to 3.

My Aqua Weed Minor mutated to an Aqua Weed and Spark Bloom Minor mutated to a Spark Bloom here as well - mileage will very depending on how much time you spend on harvesting everything, as I continually harvest all crops while leveling up the new ones. It's okay if you don't have these yet, as you're just looking for the Rock Spud and Fire Tongue ones for now.

It's also a good idea to do so now, anyway, so you can make use of that Fire Blast+ recipe you found along with Ive's Electro and Fire Lances. Once happy with that, warp back to Zaber. Buy out that shop on the left side of any recipes or maps you haven't gotten to yet. Now leave town, down the stairs and to the right to the Northwest Desert.

Stop number one is to the Northwest Trading Post. You're more than strong enough now to handle the enemies here in big groups so do that to speed things up. Taika's most useful here in her Predator stance with group attacks. These are less powerful on the biggest groups because total damage is divided by enemy number, but if you have Ive or Amon shave off a couple of monsters, Taika's Elemental attacks will clean up Overworld enemy groups nicely. As with every new party addition, remember to switch up your pairs! Catch bibis on the way if you think you need them because the hope is you can turn in the Dozy Bibi quest for the 5th time, if you haven't by now.

Once at the Trading Post, be sure to turn in your Speedy Beans and Life Beans (if you haven't done these atleast once yet), but we're really here for J. Herb. If you haven't finished/received the 5 Bibi tokens, speak to him and if you've fulfilled the Dozy Bibi quest 5 times you'll see the Loyalty Token topic in gold. Select it and you will receive the Golden Dozy Bibi Lure, which is the little blue fish-looking thing that will now follow you when in the Northwest Desert area (I mention getting it earlier). You'll have a new side quest in your log, and the task is to locate the beloved Golden Dozy Bibi. Once you have the lure, check out all the normal bibi spots until the Golden Dozy spawns and catch the little guy(the rest you can leave be or whatever). Also buy your crafting items (should be able to finish getting what you need for the Sacred Song Bowl), any leftover maps, then head back to Zaber. From there, warp back to Plumpet.

Harvest a bit, then switch down to Ive and enter her Study Room. Finally, we can go to town interpreting all these Treasure Maps! On the table to the right beside the stairs that wasn't useful before, have Ive Inspect with over and over until the table is bare and the option disappears. That means we're out of Treasure Maps, and you should now have 7 red X's on your main map. Some spots will have really useful items, others are just meh, but either way, we've got to hit them all for the achievement. I like digging them up a few at a time, but waiting until end-game cleanup is also fine.

Switch over to Amon and craft the Sacred Song Bowl (Weapon 1/15) and equip it with Gnart. Notice this will affect his stats too, so trade out some tiles on his Talent Board if you feel it necessary. Make a couple of copies of Quickstep for whoever you switch out a lot (Ive, maybe Amon, maybe Olia are my suggestions). That should cover everything, for now, warp to the Zabirum Temple, save, and then to the Overworld.
Side Questing I-II
Switch Taika and very nearby is a Treasure Spot (1/28) - the will show up when your in the spot you can start the hunt. Dig up two chests (30 and 31/50), one of which contains a mysterious Valvurian Tablet for later. From here north-west towards the C-shaped plateau. Along the way, be sure to fight a Desert Crabler and use Taika's Sixth Sense ability to learn Quake (Taika Ability 1/4) and of course pick up scrap. Inside the plateau, you'll find several groups of enemies and in the dead-center, the missing Shockle who isn't coming home without a fight. I suggest taking the groups out first because even with the level you've probably made it to, our little electric buddy can pack a punch. Also, have Ive and Amon in projectile stances because the Shockle has a melee counter.

With that done, have Taika dig twice in the Treasure Spot (2/28) for a chest (32/50). Hug the nearby ledge on your way out of the plateau to find the other sneaky end of the ramp we've been ignoring to grab what should be your last piece of scrap for the Northwest region. Also, the x marks the Treasure Spot (3/28) for two chests (33 and 34/50). Run up to the grassy peninsula for two Treasure Spots (4-5/28). The one on the skinny leg has two spots with two chests (35 and 36/50) and the other past Tremeltree (don't go in!) does as well for chests (37 and 38/50). One of these as another Valvurian Tablet. Now let's go back to Zaber. Check out the Froglet tree, if you planted it by Benjo's house. Run up to the square and chat with Ifridos to turn in the Northwest Scavenging quest and pick up the Desert Scavenging one so we can keep track of how we're doing over there. If you didn't notice, one of the scrap piles you found Amon's alternate appearance tile. Warp back to the island.

Speak with Frogboy about Barnacles>Shockle, then run over to the beach to release the Shockle. You'll receive the recipe for Electrical Master (Perk Talent 5/19) which you should just craft a copy now, whether you want to use it or not (I needed to run back to the Northwest Trading Post to buy a Fine Wire). Also now Taika can dig up Electro cores on the beach to her heart's content. Physically enter the garden (vs character-switching to Gnart) to release the golden bibi (if you haven't already done so), thus completing the first third of the Critter King achievement. As mentioned before, the golden bibi speeds your plants' harvest rate by 25%. Make some ammo and items, and when you have enough Fire Blast+ you can go to the Abilities menu and switch it with the original to make it more easily accessible in battle. With that, we can finally make our way back towards our main tasks. Warp to the Burning Desert.

Run through the swirly-storm barrier behind you to the safe zone. Do a little fiery bibi catching, harvest more Wisdom Roots (you'll need 10), then dig up a Treasure Spot (6/28) requiring two digs that nets you another map. Head through the barrier and warp back to Plumpet. Decipher the new map then warp to the Solar Array (or to Zaber for the new map spot if you want).
Burning Desert - Solar Array
Follow the structures toward the northwest until you find a pack of monsters hanging out with a Red Amri Lantern. Charge the Amri Attractor with it and then keep going west-northwest until you find a T-shaped structure with a chest (39/50) hiding on the far side of its base. Return to the array and feed your red charge to the dual-colored pedestal in front of it. Now run southeast using that shadow as a guide to the next shady spot.

The next few runs are tough! Run almost due east to the first panhandler. Hang out there a minute and a group of monsters will come right to you. Head east to a small T-structure. From here you'll see another T-structure to the east, one panhandler to the far north past some almost-buried stuff, and another panhandler to the northwest. Run to the T-structure first and open a chest (40/50) on its far side, then back to the T-structure. Now run to the due-north panhandler, you will just barely make it. Once cooled off, run west - staying close to the northern end of the buried structure - to the other panhandler with a Blue Amri Lantern waiting to ambush you. Charge your Amri Attractor with its leftover energy ball and open the nearby a chest (41/50) containing the Tempered Barrel, a unique weapon crafting item.

Now get all the way back to the Solar Array, backtracking the way you came. Feed the blue charge to dual-pedestal and activate it, changing the array's direction. Scooch to the other side of the array's base for the super-late tutorial on digging for a single spot with a chest (42/50). Now follow the array's shadow pointing northeast towards a bunch of big tall complicated-looking stuff. Trust me that there's some shade over there and on the way.

Run statue to statue until you reach the one near the yellow pedestal, and thankfully a group of baddies with a Yellow Amri Lantern will spawn. Take 'em out and harness the yellow energy ball with the Amri Attractor, and feed it to the pedestal. Activate it and watch things get interesting. Now run from TEMPORARY shadow to shadow until you reach a massive archway. Ignore the bone stag to your right, it's just there to tease you. Instead, go due west to the second massive archway and open the chest (43/50) under it, then head back to the first massive archway.

Run up the rising path, pausing at the temporary shadow, give it several turns to cool you off then run left for another chest (44/50) and back. Cool off again and then haul it to down the north side of the path and to the next archway just to the left as you come off - it will be CLOSE but you can make it. The archway northwest from here and the building to the northeast are just there to mess with you. Head up the north raised path to the temporary shadow. Cool off, then make rounds to the three nearby lanterns and feed each charge to the tri-colored pedestal in front of you.

Activate the pedestal to shift the array in the northern distance and activate a temporary shadow on the way. Make a run for the far off array, and you want to be sure to save at the Onurasi here. As soon as you try to move from here you'll be interrupted by...

Sharaan

Strategy

Strong Agaist: Head- Silence (Immune)
Starting out, focus on taking out both of Sharaan's arms. Once those are gone, have everybody rest until Sharaan uses 'Collapse.'

Once he collapses, wail on it with all you've got! Eventually, Sharaan will put itself back together with his hands in the air and they will be immune to damage for the time being. Sharaan will spend a couple turns casting fire weakness. Spend this time resting/Healing for the most part, but switch Taika to her Howl stance. On her turns, cast Elemental Absorb on your fire-weakened parties members first, and then others if there is extra time. Soon Sharaan will use a devastating Fire Breath attack, and anyone fire weak is probably die.

Raise 'em up with a Kiss of Lys, and once the hands are back on the ground, start the whole process over again until Sharaan eventually runs out of HP. You can also put Taika on potion duty if Gnart's not able to keep everyone going alone with regen.

Upon victory, you'll receive the recipe for Electro Blast for Amon, the Smoke Screen ability for Gnart, and the recipe for and a copy of the Bonds of Battle Perk (Perk Talent 6/19), which is pretty nice.

Banishing the creature will thankfully reduce the temperature in the desert, so now you can roam the Overworld at your leisure. If for some reason you want to do that whole sun stroke thing again, you can re-enter that area through the swirly-mirage in the middle of the map. Heal everybody up and from here, let's head northwest toward the x on the map, because on the way you'll probably run into the Burnacle. Once again you want to get him alone if possible because every time you attack the little jerk will use a move called Barnacle Bite that lowers your magic defense. Similar to Sharaan, it will eventually release a powerful Firestorm that will seriously hurt, so if you have trouble, switch Taika to Howl stance for Elemental Absorb and put her on potion duty.

Once the Burnacle is safely captured, have Taika dig up THREE chests (45, 46, 47/50) in the Treasure Spot (7/28). The most notable item is yet another Valvurian Tablet. Now just follow the wall counter-clockwise(that is, leftish) collecting scrap, bibis, and plants, but don't feel pressured to grind. Pass the entrance to the desert and just a little further you'll find a lovely looking place, go right on in.
Oasis
Here you'll meet Professor E. Porkins and K. Herb. If you've turned in the Speedy Beans and Life Berries at least once each quest back at the NW Trading Post, you'll be able to interact with the professor. First give him a Strange Seed Pod to receive the Fluffy Seed, then activate his quest for Wisdom Roots. If you can turn that already, do it then leave the Oasis. Come right back in and speak with E. Porkins again to get the quest for Friendship Bells, which will now appear in the Overworld. Next, chat with K. Herb about fiery bibis and turn in whatever you already have. K. Herb also has some new maps and the Fire Volt weapon recipe, so buy up as much of that as you can. Back on the Overworld, keep heading counter-clockwise toward the grassy-looking area in the southeast (see where my player marker is below).

You'll enter a smaller area with some bibis and a VERY sneaky scrap pile partially obscured by a plant and boulder near the back wall. Just to the right of that is our next destination, a creepy looking cave.
Scrollroad Desert
New Enemies - Mushrima, Nafnlaus, Infested Cultist, Infested Drifter, Optional Boss, Nanuch Cult Member, Nanuch Devotee (Bestiary 37/74)

Why they called this a desert? I don't get it either. Head forward towards the Onurasi, but you'll be interrupted by an elderly Scholar who needs help getting through the tunnel. Thankfully he just goes poof until you reach the other end. Now finally you can reach the statue to save. Let's pop back to Plumpet for a little harvesting, crafting, and map reading first. If you farmed out all the Fiery Bibi and got the Golden Fiery Bibi, you can release that at the Farmoury as well. Also, don't forget to speak with Frogboy to release the Burnacle on the beach to receive the Fire Master (Perk Talent 7/19). When you are ready, warp back to the Scrollroad Desert.

From the Onurasi, go left. You will find Wiggle who asks you to bring back the name tags of 'Silent Partners' and gives you the From Beyond perk to make it happen. This one is infuriating and helpful. Your reward for returning with 25 tags is the It's a KO perk tile, one of the most useful tiles in the game. I guess putting From Beyond on Amon's Talent Board (or whoever you use as your main overworld character) - you'll be using the talent for a while and want the character with it out as much as possible. This will enable that character to see GHOSTS throughout the world, and defeating them is how you get the tags Wiggle wants. So before you even go through this cave, let's go back to the actual desert for another wee bit of side questing.

Right outside the Scrollroad is a two-dig Treasure Spot (8/28) with a chest (48/50). You can finish collecting the desert scrap, harvesting fiery bibis (the ones in the smaller areas near landmarks are way easier to catch than the open desert ones), and Friendship Bells. Make sure you're walking the map with whoever you gave From Beyond and take out those ghosts. They don't like fire AND Gnart can actually cast Regen on them for devastating necromancy damage. You probably have most of the scrap already just by skirting the edges of the desert, but there are some more inward we'll have to fight for along with another two-dig Treasure Spot (9/28). You'll also probably run across Franir's Lair next to the last Treasure Spot (10/28) hiding the unique Fire Scepter and a chest (49/50). It's good to go in there, you'll fight the little ghost cluster, and then be able to warp from that Onurasi to the island for easy access later. But pop right back to the Desert and clean it out from ghosts and treasure. You'll likely also get your 10 Friendship Bells, you can go to the Oasis to turn in.

Just by taking down every ghost stumbled on in the desert area you will have plenty of tags to finish the quest, and more (for later). Head back to the Scrollroad Desert to turn in your 25, but he immediately asks you for more. To fulfill his need for ghost tags (and earn the Well-Traveled achievement), you'll need to come back to him 5 more times with 25 tags (150 total) and every time Wiggle will give you another copy of It's A KO. It's not as rough as it sounds because the ghosts really are everywhere, but you'll want to have your character with From Beyond as your walking character as much as possible so you don't miss any as they do not respawn.

Now we're finally going through this cave, keeping in mind the necromancy Regen thing actually works on ghosts AND the "Infested" enemies. Be sure to do it as your character with From Beyond so the ghosts will spawn. Start by going right. Ignore the first path going south, and take the next path going north. Follow it to the right to find a chest (50/50) and you'll have earned

If you've been diligent to find all of the Ghosts in the Burning Desert area (including the 1 group in Franir's Lair), fighting the group on the way to the chest should also net you:

Otherwise you will get it shortly, once you've hit a total of 50 Ghosts killed.

Return to where the path forked, and this time, go all the way right for another chest (I won't count these anymore, but I'll bold them in case you missed some). If you got the 50 Ghosts kills, go back and turn them in and then save. Heading back right, you can take that first southern path we skipped before. At the fork, go south (heading straight loops back up to where we got the last chest) until that path ends and you can either go left or right. You have the option to take down an optional boss. It's not too bad and you have to do it eventually for the Well-Traveled achievement, so go left.

Mushriga

Strategy

Weak Agaist: Fire
Have Amon on Blaster and Ive on Slinger. This giant shroom is fire weak, so burn it up!

If it summons some tiny shrooms, have Ive focus on those and Amon with Fire Blast+ continuing on Mushriga.Gnart can alternate between Regen and Cure if anyone gets heavy with Poison stacks. Taika's Fire Breath is her best move here, it helps a ton with the Mushrima minions..

After you defeat Mushriga, you'll earn the recipe for Toxic Lance and Strong Resolve (Perk Talent 8/19), with a copy of Strong Resolve as well. You'll also unlock:

Tucked away in the back of the room is a chest that contains lots of good stuff, but especially the Poison Lily Minor Seed (Plant 7/8) and the Poisoned Shard, a unique weapon crafting item. Make sure everyone's health is topped up, then return to the fork and head down the rightwards path for a scene and quite a fight.

Aderyn

Strategy

N/A

Weak Agaist: Bleed
This battle isn't complicated but it can be a brutal slog as the boss just takes a lot of hits.

Taika and Amon should focus on doing damage. Use Ive with her First Aid and Gnart keep everyone alive. I ran Amon in Thief Stance and Ive in Scout but ended up switching Ive to Slinger mode to help supplement some extra damage on the boss (since boss was taking more ranged damage than melee).

Try to keep everyone's health at least at half because one or two wrong moves and this battle goes downhill fast - boss can hit pretty hard. Gouge is going to be Amon's best bet here because all three enemies are pretty susceptible to Bleeding.

Remove the 2 adds first and then whittle away on Aderyn.

Upon defeating her, she'll manage to slip away.

Afterward, go left at the next fork for a chest containing the Resurrect skill for Gnart. Double back right and fight your way down the path to finally get out of this place. Don't forget to release the crow (4/6) as you pass. When you reach the exit, the Scholar you probably forgot all about will thank you for your excellent escort services and reward you with Snow Grass Minor seed (Plant 8/8) and the Ice ammo recipes for Amon and Ive.

Let's head back to Plumpet for a little R&R. Plant and water your new seeds and set yourself up with new ammo. Check out the new talents you've found and advance everyone's talent boards. By now everyone should have a copy of Energised, and I recommend the Strong Resolve you just got for Gnart. Bonds of Battle isn't too bad either. Amon or Ive better have a copy of It's a KO. Also, poke around the Abilities menu and make sure the moves you like most for each party member are on the top, which means they're on the default 'page' of the battle menu. Once you're feeling set, warp back to the Scrollroad Plains, save, and exit out to the new area.
Overworld - Konkylian Plains
New Enemies - Electro Air Mirror, Sparktank, Scamp, Giga Stag, Thunder Djinn, Cherby Poison, Biting Rooter, Little Marvel (Yellow) (Bestiary 45/74)

The man said STAY ON THE ROAD and we are pretty much going to do exactly that. Your party is probably level 14 at most, and the beasties out here are tough. There are also a couple of things to do in this area that aren't even accessible yet. I suggest staying in the formation from your fight with Aderyn, letting Amon and Taika do damage while Gnart and Ive heal if you do get into a battle. Otherwise, just stick the road unless you spot some scrap you can reach without drawing any enemies. There will be more ghost enemies here if you're still running with whoever has the perk to see them. They are in smaller groups of 2 and pretty easy to take on singly if you want - but they are tougher than what you just fought in the Scrollroad.

Ive's exploration ability to sneak past enemies can be super helpful, so you cab use her as your walking character if you'd like. The one exception is if you see a small group of Sparktanks (neon blue bugs), take them on, and be sure to use Taika's Sixth Sense to learn Lightning (Taika Ability 2/4). You'll see the new type of Bibi's as well, don't bother with them. You won't be able to catch them right now.

When you get to the first fork (right-facing Y), head right just around the little mound. Move your camera to follow the road and you'll see a grop of three yellow-ish Fall colored trees. Run over (or have Ive stealth) there and enter the little hideout.

Forest Glade

Here we have Professor N. Porkins and T. Herb, once again. You should have completed quests from the professor's back at the Oasis. If so, can activate N. Porkins' "Sneaky Blooms" quest to gather Stealthy Shades. They're also necessary to help T. Herb out with his Dusky Bibis, because if you've tried approaching one, you'll notice they literally teleport away. Harvesting a Stealthy Shade makes you temporarily invisible so you can sneak up on the buggers. Again, you'll need a total of 50 Dusky Bibis to get T. Herbs loyalty token. Ignore his Fisherman's Lure quest for now, you don't have what you need to make it happen yet. You can however drop a bunch of cash on treasure maps, the Blizzard Bangle weapon recipe, and any crafting supplies you need. Remember there's tons of scrap still to collect here, so don't feel like you have to buy out the shop.

Leave the glade and head back to the road to that fork you just came from, then head west towards Suvia. Along the way, there's a pretty safe spot to grab a pink Stealthy Shade and try out nabbing Dusky Bibis, but don't worry too much about them for now. The priority is getting to the city without getting in too much trouble.
Suvia
We've finally made it to the City of the Ocean, Capital of Umbra, Suvia! You'll have a couple of scenes and be awarded with:

Save at the Onurasi by the fountain, then follow the street heading east. Feel free to speak with the townspeople and inspect a giant statue to get a feel for the city. North of the statue is a drawbridge with a humongous building. Approach it for another scene. Afterward, enter the Great Wave Military-Industrial Complex.

Speak with the guards if you like, but be sure to follow the right path to a chest. Head back left, ignoring the stairs for now, and enter the Prison for a scene. Afterward, open the bar door to your left and take a few more steps up and left to enter the holding cells. Finally, we've found Uncle Benjo, but there's much to do before we can rescue him. Exit the palace and head back to the fountain. There's a shop here on your top right (with the Frogboy face sign) and this guy is going to get all our money. Scroll down and buy the maps first because they're cheap, then the Poison Dagger weapon recipe and whatever ammo recipes you can afford. Don't worry about the Angel Bow recipe, you'll find one for free later.

Once you're done shopping and completely broke, warp back to Plumpet Island and switch to Amon. You should be able to craft the Fire Volt (Weapon 2/15) and maybe also the Blizzard Bangle (Weapon 3/15). If you're missing the Valvurium Elemental Metal Scrap, no worries, you will eventually find it in a Konkyllan Plains scrap pile. The Blizzard Bangle gives Taika one of her alternate appearances, but it's not very useful quite yet. Harvest the garden thoroughly, you hopefully have 13 plants all at leaf level 3 by now, and craft your low ammo. If you're a harvest nut like I am, you may also have your Tooth Cactus Minor mutate -- mine did. I also ended up getting:

Again, if you don't have the Tooth Cactus or achievement, no worries. I just spent several minutes harvesting every time I hit Plumpet to refill ammo and material coffers. You'll still get these in due time otherwise. Also, if you're concerned about buying all the ammo upgrade recipes at the Suvia shop, go to Frogboy and sell off all the plants you don't use anymore. If you've been harvesting diligently, you probably have hundreds of Minor plants you don't need and that should be enough for at least one recipe. I had capped out on Mild Lyrose Petals (999) and around 600+ Tender Spuds that were free range for selling.

Since we have Taika now and Olia's back, take a minute to switch through the party members and have them chat with each other for some precious but easily missable dialogue. Switch to Ive and have her decipher all the maps you have (it'll be quite a lot). Once you're done with everything you want to do, warp back to Suvia.

Finishing buying watever recipes you can at the shop if needed, then head northward through the arch. On the bridge here is a man named Almagest. You'll want to talk to him whenever you pass by to learn nifty stuff about Umbra, generally you can get in a couple conversations at once before he says he needs time. Do this until he starts repeating himself, and that's when you'll be one step closer to achieving Well Traveled. Beyond Almagest is the House of the Owl Tide, enter for a scene.

House of the Owl Tide

Chat with Tilda nearby for jokes, and feel free to look around a bit. Head to the back of the long hall to see stairs on both sides. The northeast set leads to the Infirmary and here you'll find a Hogbunny shopkeeper. He's got lots of 'Cure'-type potions available, but I wouldn't bother with those too much. When we have money again, we'll definitely want those Elixir recipes though, so just keep that in the back of your mind for now. Head back down to the library and then up the northwest stairs, and finally, you'll find the famous High Owl Lady Lumia. Speak to her for a scene.

With it time to play detective, head back downstairs and back to the front of the hall. On the right side, head down the stairs to the Archive. You can inspect all the nifty stuff, but we're here for the small empty pedestal mid-way toward the back of the room. After the short scene, you'll be controlling Taika as your walking character. Sniff around the bookshelf on your left until you see that tail wag. Dig for an exciting discovery, but before we enter the hidden doorway we can do a Hunt Treasure. Enter the Hunt Treasure mode and just to the north side of the statue with cat ears to find the Hollow Shaft, a unique weapon crafting item. On the north side of the non-functional Onurasi there's a spot with basically nothing, but the room's clear now - and we want to be thorough! Now you can head through the passage.
Sewers
New Enemies - Plasmama, Plaspapa, Cocotoo (Bestiary 48/74)

Switch your walking character to whoever has Far Beyond (to see Ghosts), because surely this place will be haunted. Go down the stairs and then through the green-glowing obviously totally not suspicious drainpipe for a brief scene. The enemies down here have the annoying capability to become immediately immune to whatever element you throw at them but they don't like bladed damage at all. The sludgy enemies are Bleeding immune, but floating fish Bleed just fine. Switch Amon to Thief stance, Ive can stay in Slinger but only use regular lances on the mamas and papas. Swap Taika for Olia in her Warrior stance to catch up her level and give her progress on the Talent Board as best you can. If you can make it to Slashing Swing at the end of her board, even better.

Head right and Use the red valve on the steaming pipes to lower the water level a bit. Go down the stairs to a fight, then up the stairs across the way. Around the corner, you'll find ghosts and a chest. Go back down the stairs and use the red valve you passed (just in front of them) to lower the water level again. Go down the lower stairs and across the stones, then up two sets of stairs for more fighting and a chest at the end of the left path. Return to the fork and head south across several bridges. Just keep following the corridor right and eventually, you'll find another red value to Use, then go back the vertical path you just went by. Go up that path and then right over a bridge and around a corner. There are some enemies right at the first set of stairs. After the fight, cross there and north to take out a pod of ghosts. If you didn't get the achievement earlier, you should have unlocked the Spiritualist of the Sands Achievement by now (ugh, these Ghosts are incredibly annoying).

Wiggle will obviously have to wait, though. Head back down and around the corner to the right. Just to your south is a steamy floor puzzle. You'll need to cross when the steam isn't coming through the grate. The objective is to cross all the way right. You'll need to go to the southern most platform to turn a valve and raise the water to get to the chest. With the water still raised, return to the main path and go right and across the bridge - note there will be a group of enemies on the bridge. Head north for another ghost pod, then back down and around the lower corner to the right again to another valve. Backtrack to where you just fought the Ghosts for a chest containing the Cutpurse talent (for Amon or Ive). It's not too useful, but kinda fun if you like to Steal since it increases the steal chance and amount of Dalar stolen.

Go back to the valve you just turned and keep going past it to another valve. Use it, but take out the nearby ghosts before going down the center stairs. Go straight down across the broken path to fight a group of enemies. Following the path south will take you to a chest, then go right from the fork for a second chest. Now head left of the stairs (still on the submerged path) to a normal path that goes quite a ways around until you hit a steamy bridge. Make your way across, watching out for the steam, and go under the pipe as Gnart for another chest. Now, follow the path until you find another valve beside some steps that raise the water level, then right up the steps to the next valve and raise it again.

Make your way around to the chest you probably noticed before but couldn't reach, then head right to a ladder. After a scene, we'll finally get an Onurasi at last! Warp back to Plumpet for a serious restock. Sell some more leftover produce to Frogboy. Check on Amon at the Forge to make note of the weapon materials you need. Also, because I'm a farming nut, I also ended up getting mutations to get Fire Tongue Magnum, Aqua Weed Magnum, and Lysrose Mangum o_0. This is way ahead of schedule, otherwise - but that's what you get when you relentlessly harvest everything crop while you're waiting to get the newest ones to 3 leaves .... and also harvest out to make large stocks of ammo as well. We can't even use any of these to make anything currently (except the Lysrose Magnum is used in the Healing Elixir+ but I'm not worried about crafting that one quite yet), so seriously don't worry if you don't have this yet.

You can also talk to Gnart about Lora for a short scene. I opt'd to hop back to the Scrollroad Desert and turn in the next part of the Wiggle quest, since it's not really out of the way - plus I got the next "It's a KO" talent to put on Olia. I also had plenty of Dalar to go back to the House of the Owl Tide for those 2 Healing Elixir recipes. When you're ready, warp to the Warehouse so we can see what we've gotten ourselves into.

Again, a reminder to be walking your ghost-hunting character. We're looking for boxes with Frogboy faces on them to Inspect and find the missing Core. From the Statue, head to the bottom of the screen just before the pathway left and walk through the gap in a stack of boxes as Gnart for a chest. There's also a Frogbox in front of where you can see some ghosts floating. Not our box! There is a level you might've passed by just North-West of the Statue - it likes to head behind the pole just in front of it. Head there and pull it. Check the box in the newly accessible area to the left, then pull the lever on the wall there. Pass under the raised platform, fight, check the next box to get Gnart's alternate appearance tile. But no Core. Well, pull the lever then. Head all the way south for another chest. Pull the next level and backtrack to the area right of where we just were.

Again, not our box. Pull the level and we're locked in? Thankfully no - you can walk up that slanted crate to your right, then take a step right and then south, a little to the left, and you can hop on the moving platform. First, step off to the row of boxes with the chest and open that to find the Elemental Lance recipe. Return to the moving platform and step off when it's all the way to the right to return to the beginning of the area and enter the first area we past with the Ghosts still left in it. After the fight, check out the box... still not our box. Pull the lever.

The last section of the building is finally accessible to the far left, head all the way there, and inspect the final box. Notice the metal pieces scattered around? A little homage to how this area went in the original game. That is, very differently. At the bottom of the screen there is a final chest to get, then exit to your left. Go south from here to find a crow (5/6). The shady guy in the corner has ammo for you to buy, but why when you can grow your own? At the edge of the harbor to your left, you'll find Fisherman Joe. Remember where he's at because eventually, we'll bring him T. Herb's fishing lure.

Now let's head back to the Owl House by heading up the screen and out to the left past the statue. Stop by the shop on the way for any ammo recipes you can afford, if needed. Be sure to speak with Almagest on your way to the Owl House, then go to Lady Lumia to see a few of the pieces of the plot come together and you'll also receive Olia's alternate appearance tile. Leave the House of the Owl Tide for a very important announcement when you get back to the square. Let's do a couple of things before we jump into the Festival though.
Side Questing II
Head back to Plumpet from the Onurasi for some harvesting and crafting new ammo. Again your mileage might vary depending on your tendency to farm, but here you have the chance of unlocking the Gardener of Lango Achievement as I had previously.

When you're all ammo'd ups witch down to Amon at the Forge, as you should be able to, or extremely close to, craft Olia's Oar of War and Amon's Poison Dagger (Weapons 4 and 5/15) by now. If you need a couple of things to get both, make note of the materials. If you haven't yet, warp back to Scrollroad Desert to handover ghost tags for another copy of Its a KO and start the quest over (you might even have two rounds by now, depending on if you've neglected turning it for a while). Just outside there a new Treasure Spots (11/28) on either side of the Scrollroad entrance requiring two digs. You may even notice a Scrap pile sneakily hiding in a bush during one of them - if you missed this one before (like me) that should finish getting all 20 piles for the Desert Scavenging side quest.

If you haven't finished getting the 50 fiery bibis here, now is a good time to do so. If you haven't cleaned up all the Ghosts, go back to the small desert area in the southwest (were we were just after the Goblin Camp section). This area has a Treasure spot (12/28) to get as well. The middle desert area also has a two Treasure Spot - one of them is right east side of the Burning Desert (13/28) and the other next to Franir's Lair (14/28).

Head back to the Oasis and T. Herb to buy anything you need crafting-wise for weapons(you can honestly just buy him out of Konkylian Ore), then turn in your fiery bibis if needed to hopefully get the Golden Fiery Bibi quest and lure. If you still needed the Golden Fiery Bib, spend the time now to find the golden one so we can be done with these once and for all. Start with the area just after the Goblin Camp first, as the bibis are easiest to catch there, and if it isn't there, check out the spots in the open desert. The Golden Fiery Bibi is easily mistaken as a normal one, so look carefully.

Once you finally catch it, get to your nearest Onurasi and then back to Plumpet. If you still need more crafting materials, check out the shop in Suvia or the Northest Trading Post by Ramoo - you'll want to warp to "Swamp" though not Ramoo Village(again, just get all the Konk Ore you can afford) and head back to Plumpet.I want to note, too, if you crafted the Earth Scepter early (when I first mentioned it and well before necessary), you will be 1 Konkylium Ore short and will only be able to craft either the Oar of War OR the Poison Dagger.

There will also be a group of Ghosts just outside of the Northwest Trading Post if you happen to head there. Back at Plumpet, make sure to actually enter/exit the Garden so the second golden bibi will be released, and that's two-thirds of Critter King done. If you got the Gardener achievement already you can focus on just the higher level plants from here on out, but the Minors are still a good source of money if you need it. Craft and equip your second new weapon(s) and advance everyone's Talent Boards. Once you're feeling nicely set up all the way around, warp to Zaber and turn in the Desert Scavenging to Ifridos and pick up the Plains Scavenging quest, then out to the desert as Taika. Head east to find another Treasure Spot (15/28) for a single chest containing the Angel Bow recipe we now don't have to buy.

Return to Zaber and pick a spot to plant the Fluffy Seed we got from the Oasis' Prof Porkins, and save at the Onurasi. Speak with the Arena Master (that one walking around the top of the sqaure pretending to shoot a gun), to learn the rules of the tournament.
Festival of Magic - Zaber Tournament
New Enemies - Zaberian Warden, Zaberian Defender (Bestiary 50/74)

Have Olia in your party and your party set to your low-star bond pairs. As he says, you won't have access to your normal inventory, so have everyone set to melee stances at least to begin. Also, play as Olia with Quick Step so you can switch her stances as the round required. There are five rounds of the festival and to get gold you need to finish it in exactly five fights. You'll spawn in the center of the area, so watch where the enemies are going before you make a move so you can draw them all into a single encounter per round. Miss even one baddie in all five rounds and you'll get silver, which isn't the end of the world, just try again. It's not too hard to gather the enemies up, as there will only be 2 groups to pull together at a time.

You can also you Olia's Taunt ability to help gather all the enemies up before engaging in battle. Don't forget to open the chest that appears each round for items you probably won't need, but just in case. As the tournament continues, switch pairs around as bonds improve.

Once you get gold, you'll get the recipe for the incredibly handy Double Turn (Perk Talent 9/19) and a free copy, a mess of other helpful tiles, and the Zaber Token. This is a nice, not too difficult, replayable spot to level bond. Also, anyone that's under level 15, you can use this spot to help bring them up, but you don't really need to grind. Once you've got your Zaber medal, head back to Plumpet and make a few copies of Double Turn because it does well on everyone. If you can, give Gnart his Whirlwind ability so he can inflict some decent damage when there's no healing to do.

Next, we head back to Suvia. Now we head right through town to the Hook-man statue and across the drawbridge. Nothing in this building has changed except you can speak with the Arena Master who blocks the center stairs - show him your token and head on up.

You will not win the battle this time, but when you wake up you'll be safe back at the Owl House and learn a little about the war. You'll also get the Heal ability for Gnart, which you want to add/swap in right away (if you have the talent points) and also make it easy to access in battle through the Abilities menu because it's so much better than Regen. Leave the Infirmary and then go back to Lady Lumia for a much more light-hearted learning moment that unlocks:

At last, we meet PAT, the final party member! He's got ATK BOT stance for okay damage and DEF BOT for some serious tank support, so decide which one you like and invest heavily in the appropriate stats rather than try to dabble in both. Introductions are brief, though, because our enemies are on our heels. Pair our new PAT with Olia at least to start, either Ive or Gnart for heals is fine, make a quick save and now we head back across the drawbridge.
Great Wave Military-Industrial Complex
Time to clear this place out! PAT's electric attacks do pretty well here despite his low level but keep an eye on him. Everyone else should be okay since you have some help, so just keep trading out pairs with PAT as we go along to jump-start his bonds. Once victorious, you'll find the Arena locked so head left for a brief scene and more enemies. Check on Uncle Benjo in the prison, but we can't bust him out yet. Go back to the main floor and up the left stairs to the elevator.

This corridor should look familiar, we've come around full circle. Take the door on the right for a scene and yet another group of bad guys in your way. During the next brief respite, get everybody healed up again with potions or by trading in healthy party members(but still keep PAT). Go through the door on the far right side of the room. Nothing has changed here except it's a bit more empty. Head all the way across to through the next door. We're just in time to interrupt our conspirators and find out a small bit about their plan.

Weak Agaist: Bleed
This battle goes much like the last one, but at least this time she's alone.

She's still susceptible to Bleed so use that to your advantage, along with buffs to your regular attacks like Blood Shout or Mark Target if going ranged. The extra damage is worth spending the turns.

Damage-dealing Specials don't make a ton of difference here, so only use Gnart's healing ones. PAT can spam Accelerate Field on Gnart to speed him up, drop the occasional potion, or his Electro Bolt does about as little damage as everything else honestly.

Try to keep everyone's health pretty high because just like last time, Aderyn has a couple of attacks that can wipe your whole team if you aren't keeping an eye on everybody. If you have trouble bringing her using the lower-levels characters, switch them out for your folks with more experience. Either way though, Aderyn just eats damage, so just whack away for however long it takes.

The reward for your perseverance and patience is the Infinite Edge, which is a unique weapon material, and an addition to your Trophy Room towards the Well Traveled achievement. Oh and of course, a very exciting scene that unlocks:

When you finally regain control of your party once again at the Owl House, there's quite a laundry list of things to do. Head downstairs for a scene with Tilda and receive a Tablet. Find Professor S. Porkins by the entrance and talk to him to receive the Cure Recipe Table. Before leaving, head back up the Infirmary stairs and purchase the Healing Elixir recipe if you haven't already. Now leave the Owl House (chat up Almagest to make sure he has nothing to say), then return to the square. Save at the Onurasi and warp back to Plumpet Island so we can get PAT set up in his space and receive the UWM (Underwater Mile) Access Code.

Remember all those useless tablets we've been digging up all over the place? Well PAT can translate them! Talk to him and choose the "Decode Table" option and the next tablet (top down) in your inventory will get decoded. You'll also want to run up to Frogboy and see if you can afford the very expensive Valvurian Tablet (5,000 Daler) in his shop. If not, harvest and sell off things until you can and build your item/ammo stores back up while you're at it.

Once you're good with that, go back to PAT as any other character, and let's see what all these tablets are about. Counting Frogboy's and the Cure Recipe Tablet, you should have six tablets to decode. The items I got, in order, were the Cure Recipe for Benjo, the Nadirium Armor recipe, two treasure maps, the Ice Wave recipe, and the Talon Glove recipe. So now let's check in with Amon and see if we can make any of this stuff! If you're lucky, maybe, but if not take note of what you need since we'll soon be doing some backtracking. Check out the Trophy Room and you'll see Aderyn's bow. We also want to decipher those maps.

With all of that taken care of, let's head back to Suvia to take the Cure Recipe back to Prof. S Porkins. Now we know what we need, but not so much where to get it all. Porkins at least gives you some clues, so hopefully, we'll stumble on this stuff along the way. Leave the Owl House, save again, and return to the Great Wave MIC, because we technically didn't finish the Festival!
Festival of Magic - Final Tournament
New Enemies - Glacierbug, Kuda, Blue Quadragon, Guard of Shells, Guardess of Shells (Bestiary 55/74)

With everything's back to normal, show your token to the Arena Master again and go through the door at the top of the stairs. Thankfully there are no interruptions this time. The enemies are tougher though, especially round 3, so have your stronger characters at the helm. I recommend the classic Amon/Gnart and Ive/Taika pairings.

Go to the middle of the room and from there the Tournament runs exactly as it did before - you need to finish all waves in 5 rounds. Again, be sure to wait and see where the monsters roam to catch them all in one fight. Your inventory is limited again and there are some flyers in these groups; thankfully Taika's can use group attacks can still reach them. OR Gnart even has the offensive spell Whirlwind now! There are chests to open between rounds too.

The room here is much bigger than before, so keep in mind that Olia's overworld Taunt can help you pull the enemy groups together.

When you get to round 3, take out the Ympkins ASAP and then the Barghest too. If you have special available, Ive's Fire Trap Drop does a lot of work for you, as everything (besides the Ympkins) does melee attacks. From there the rest of the fight should fall into place after that. If you get Amon's Special, you'll clean up even better. Once your past there, the last two rounds aren't too bad - but watch out for the Melee guy in Round 5 as he does have a permanent melee counter. If you get the gold medal, you receive lots of good stuff especially the Quick Rest recipe (Perk Talent 10/19) and a free copy. You'll also unlock:

With that done, be sure to put your lower-level characters back into the party so we can keep beefing them up. Now we're ready to go hunting for all of these mysterious ingredients and some other stuff along the way.
Side Questing III
So first let's talk about PAT's exploration ability. If he's your walking character and you hit , he flips his parts around to hover and moves super fast. We're going to be doing some backtracking, so if you want/can, you could swap the From Beyond perk from whoever has it to PAT to move around faster. Warp back to Plumpet, do whatever you need to do (shouldn't be much), warp to the Goblin Camp, and make your way back to where you fought the Gobking. The few ghosts along the way should be lunch meat for you now. Outside of the mine (just south of the entrance), you'll find a Great Wave officer who wasn't here before named Captain Barr.

Talk to her for the Rescue the Scholar, which we must complete for Well Traveled. It's simple though, just clear out the mine and find the guy all the way in the back. There are some Ghosts and Goblin spread out. Once the mine is clear, speak with Scholar Albert on the ground. This time we've got an actual escort mission, so plod along as he trails behind until you get to the entrance of the mine. Try not to have to backtrack too much, the enemies here respawn extremely quickly.Deliver Scholar Albert to the Captain to finish the quest and also receive the Compact Stock, a weapon component.

Warp back to Plumpet and then again to Zabirum Temple. Walk out into the desert; we're heading toward yellow quest marker on the peninsula, but we're going to take the long way to catch some cheap ghosts. Stop off at the little alcove we got the Sparkle in first and then head down toward Zaber and toward Ramoo in the peninsula. Don't forget to run up that ramp as well briefly when passing by, there are Ghosts on the little plateau area. If you were able to swap over to make use of PAT's hover speed and how ridiculously overpowered you are for this region, this will be quick work.

Once the Northwest Desert is ghost-free, head north. Stop by the trading post and buy all their Strong Leather Straps, but don't go wild because there's still plenty of scrap in the world. From there head north to the green peninsula. Fly around busting up ghosts until you've got it cleaned out, then go ahead and enter the area we skipped previously that looks like a dead tree stump.
Tremel Tree
New Enemies - Bandit Trapper, Bandit Thug, Boss (Bestiary 58/74)

You'll see an Onurasi first thing, so good time to save. I personally went to turn in the Ghost tags, but it's up to you whether you want to turn them in now or later (I was able to turn in twice and still have half of a third one done). Otherwise let's keep going forward. Now the enemies here are not anything too difficult, but they're back at your level again so it won't be the same path of destruction you were wreaking on the Overworld. You'll come to what appears to be a fork, but it's actually just a big circle with some swamp in the middle. Take out all the soldiers in sight and at the 12 o'clock position on the circle, there is a chest.

Once the area is clear, you'll find two make-shift bridges you can inspect and PAT will pull the barrels down so you can cross. Take the northeast path first, follow the path to another barrel-bridge, and keep going. The next open area you come to will have a chest in the 12 o'clock position containing the Serrated Dagger recipe and to the southeast from there you'll find another chest. Head all the way back to the main area and to the southeast bridge.

When you come to the next patch of enemies, take them out then check for the path leading south before you enter the camp. Follow this path around until you find a Droogo Shaman does not attack next to a chest. Take the loot, then let's chat with him. So this guy can give us one of the ingredients we need, but he like riddles. So, hear the first one about the mushroom on a log, then go back to the camp where the last patch of enemies was. There's a ghost pod just north of the camp, and a crow (6/6) to releasein front of the tent. From here, go a tad more east to find the exact mushroom-fern combination Batrog mentioned. Have Taika dig between the ferns, and if little froglets appear you got the right spot. Return to Batrog for the next riddle.

The one was seriously not helpful. Go all the way back to the main area. Around the 8 o'clock position, just south of a tree stump, you'll see a little bump of land sticking out into the swamp. Switch to Taika and Inspect for more little froglets and return to Batrog for the final riddle. Return to the main area again and go all the way down the northeast path until the very end. There's a stump with a big mushroom on it. Switch to Taika and inspect behind the stump. This time a wisp escapes and floats off in the general direction of Batrog, so let's head back to him and see what's up. At last, the wisp provides and we have our Spirit Sapling for Uncle Benjo's cure.

Now head back to the nearby campsite and to the east side of that island until you find another bridge to yank. You'll find a very big, very ominous tree. Head toward the tree to learn from the accompanying scene that we've got to go in there. Now is the perfect time to save and the Onurasi Statue just outside the tree. Reconfigure your party. Have Gnart paired with someone reasonably well-bonded and head inside. Take the path immediately on the right for a chest and go directly west for a ghost pod (you'll see a bone creature in a room on your way past). Get everybody healed up (maybe save again), and enter the central cavern for a fight.

Strong Agaist: Bleed (Immune)
This big guy will debuff to your defense, so keep an eye on your health. He's also immune to Bleed, but man he sure can dish it out, so make sure to use Cure or just throw health potions at anybody hit with stacks of it. It's not a complicated fight, just takes some finesse.

You get a whole load of stuff for winning, most helpfully the Toxic Lance+ recipe for Ive and the Plant and Elemental Buster recipe (Perk Talent 11/19) plus a free copy. Open the nearby chest for the Ur-Soil, as well as the Serrated Blade unique weapon component.

Head on out of here and you'll run into the rather um, distracted Professor I. Porkins. Speak to him about his work, then offer him a Strange Seed Pod to receive the Bone Seed. Finally, exit the tree and head back to Plumpet.

Start with harvesting because your Poison Lilly Minor ought to Mutate into the Poison Lilly right away. Plant and water it, fiddle in the Garden some more, and do whatever else you need to do here. Now's a good time to make Ice Wave if you can, but if not it's okay, just switch Amon's blaster to something other than Fire Volt if that's what he's equipped with now. You should be finished with everything in the desert area, but if not, go back and check out the Side Questing II section. If you're good, you can either warp to the Scrollroads Desert to turn in your ghost tags - I did and completed the final step of this side quest. From there you can either walk from to, or if you're good with that too, warp straight to Franir's Lair.
Franir's Lair
New Enemies - Fire Ice Mirror, Boss (Bestiary 60/74)

Make a quick save. If you put From Beyond on PAT, move it over to Amon - this area has lots of Amri Attractor Action and it's just easier since you'll be mostly using him. Run up the ramps and take out the ghost pod on the right. Enter the pyramid itself through the center door for a brief scene. Continue forward to dispatch a Blue Amri Lantern and harness its energy. Head back outside and charge the blue pedestal you passed by. Activate it and cross the new bridge to the left, and enter the western door. Charge down the hall to defeat the enemies, including a Red Amri Lantern. Harness it's energy and head back outside.

Charge and activate the red pedestal, then activate the blue one again so the bridge now leads to the eastern door. Head on in and fight your way to a Yellow Amri Lantern. Harness its energy, then briefly switch to Gnart to crawl through a small opening for a chest. Return to the center door of the pyramid, run down the hall, and feed the yellow energy to the pedestal. Activate that and you'll be able to proceed deeper in. After the first batch of enemies, there's another hole for Gnart with a chest.

After another batch of enemies, another doorway. Enter it to find an Onurasi statue. You can warp for an easy party heal and save (if you warp, go back to Franir's Grotto).Walk up to the deactivated red pedestal to summon stairs leading down. Go down onto the lower walkway, then approach the other gap in the railing to summon the stairs again, but this time going up. Follow that path up to a red lantern, harness the red energy, then reverse your steps to get back to the red pedestal. Charge and activate the pedestal and head back to the lower level to find an elevator. Activate the center light to go down.

Step off the elevator and staying close to the wall, make your way toward the rear of the room to find a chest containing the Blaze Bangle recipe. Now head to the middle of the area for a fight.

A fairly straight-forward boss, Franir's only real trick is that he's in the air and that limits your options. You'll want Amon and Ive to be in their ranged stances. I also swapped in PAT to haste, and his Electro Ball also works as a ranged attack. You should also hit him with a "Mark Target" for increased range damage.

Just go at him with ranged weapons and spells, Gnart should be able to keep everyone alive with maybe a little potion-slinging if needed.

The spoils of the battle are the Fire Blast++ AND Fire Lance ++ recipes, along with the Beast and Human Buster perk recipe (Perk Talent 12/19) and a free copy and the Dragon Scale we need for Benjo's cure. Not far away is a very pretty chest with the Proto-Fire so this is a two-for-one!

Take the elevator back up the elevator and take the right gap to summon the stairs up to the Onurasi. Warp back to Plumpet.
Side Questing IV
Back at Plumpet, do some harvesting, and you'll probably get some mutations to plan: I ended up getting the Tooth Cactus Magnum, Snow Grass - which also mutated to the Snow Grass Magnum-, and Rock Spud Magnum. When you're happy with your ammo and items, head down to the Trophy Room. There are new items from our recent exploits, including a crow on the table that brought us another treasure map! Might as well pick it up and decipher while we're here.

Once all that is done, we are finally strong enough to handle all the riffraff in the Konkylian Plains and you can see there's tons to find there, so that's definitely our next stop. Almost.

Quickly check if there were enough ghosts in the dragon's lair to get another 25 tags for Wiggle (hopefully your last, he'll tell you when you're done), and that's one more requirement for Well Traveled crossed off the list. Once Wiggle says you're dismissed and thank you for your service, you can swap From Beyond off the Talent Board completely. It might come back in play very late in the game, but for now, the naturally occurring enemies are plenty, thank you VERY MUCH.

In case you've been wondering where all the bizarre ghost names came from, they're the Silent Backers from the Kickstarter that funded the original game. A really lovely way to say "Thank you for making this possible," isn't it? So with your last copy of It's A KO in tow, warp back to Plumpet and then again immediately to the Scrollroads Plains. If you haven't hit your 150 yet, no worries there are still plenty more ghosts in the game, just keep From Beyond on your favorite walking character and keep ghostbusting until you have a copy of It's a KO for every character.

Now we can head out into the Plains themselves, but we can't just run straight for the quest markers of course. We have Stealthy Shades, bibis, and scrap to collect first! Mercifully, these Dusky bibis are not nearly as much of a pain. There's a bright purple Stealthy Shade near every Dusky bibi spawn spot, so have Gnart harvest it before getting close and you can snap up all five at once. The enemies here still pose a challenge, especially since Olia and PAT still have some catching up to do. Don't get so bold to take a huge 8 monster groups yet, but you can probably handle four or five.

Use the treasure maps as a guide for how to clear the area. Start with the southeastern-most Treasure Spot (15/28), which has three digs total to find two chests, and one has a Valvurian Tablet in it. Head northwest towards Suvia on the left side of the road for the next Treasure Spot (16/28); the Sapphire Glove recipe comes straight out of the ground, along with a chest. In a moment we'll head for the one in the center of the area, but first, check the coast around Suvia to make sure you've found the scrap and bibis over there.

Once you're good there, make your way to the center Treasure Spot (17/28). This time the Valvurian Foot Gem comes right out of the ground along with a chest containing another Valruvian Tablet. Next, we're aiming for all the way on the west side of the plains, not far from the Forest Glade so we'll stop there too. Turn in all you can then reach the next Treasure Spot (18/28) for three rather unhelpful digs, including the chest! We've gotten a lot done, so make your way back towards the Plains for a recharge.

Warp to Plumpet and re-up if you need to, but we're really just here to check in with Amon and the free heal. Looks like we're able to make the Talon Glove (Weapon 6/15) for Ive. Once you feel set, head back to the Plains and save. Still grab the bibis right outside, but then hug the eastern wall and go around so we can get to the Glade. Talk to the Hogbunny, you definitely you should have ten Stealthy Shades by now. If so, you'll be able to ask Prof N. Porkins about his Purified Air. Looks like need to do him another favor first, so activate the Battle Bond Blooms quest. And finally, if you haven't already, be sure to give him a Strange Seed Pod so that you can get the Feathered Seed. Also not a bad idea to buy T. Herb out of his Konkylium Ore as well.

Next, we need T. Herb because we're going to try out hand at the Fishing Lure thing. It's a race against time to get from the Glade all the way to the other end of Suvia where that depressed guy was fishing, remember him? It was impossible before, but now we have super-fast PAT. The hardest thing about this is getting yourself oriented right as you come out of the Glade. So as soon as the screen loads, look for a Speedy Bean and fly in the OPPOSITE direction. If you get that part right, the rest really isn't too bad. Your reward for this little errand is the Nauticle to release on Plumpet Beach. Since we're here by a save point, go ahead then out into the wilds once again.

Now if you spent the time to gather all 50 Dusky Bibis, got the lure, and caught the Golden Dusky Bibi like I did - enter the Farmoury to release it so we can be done with Bibis and unlock:

From Suvia, keep west following the plateau until you're able to reach the upper area. The Bond Nuts are spawning now, they're squat little yellow things. Go east long enough and you'll find the path up to the high-ground area. You'll come across the Underwater Mile first, but we don't have everything we need to go down there yet so turn around and head back west toward the cliff for nuts, scrap, bibis, and the next Treasure Spot (19/28). There are two digs here and one is a chest.

Turn around and cross the bridge to the large island, and take care to check the cliff from the other side before heading all the way east again. Get everybody healed up before heading towards the X in the middle of the island because probably right around there is our next barnacle, the Galeacle. Healing will be important as usual so tag in Gnart if you don't have him already. Also as usual, lure his buddies away and take them down before attracting the little dude's attention. It's got the same nasty counter as the last one, but if you land Gnart's Special even once you'll probably have it in the bag.

Bring out Taika for the Treasure spot (20/28), this time three digs with two of the chests. Get everyone healed back up as necessary and head down into the small valley, fighting and gathering your way through. Before we grab the last X, when you see a small tower, turn north and grab some scrap and nuts. There's a mysterious Shrine up here on the mountain top, you can in real quick to open the chest since it has another Valvurian Tablet, but trust me you don't want to mess with anything else yet. Head back down again into the area where the quest and map markers are. The scrap there on the beach should be the very last one for this area and just north of it is the Treasure spot (21/28), a two-dig spot with little of note. If the Golden Bibi hasn't shown itself yet, no worries. For now just reach the quest marker, an unassuming little country-side tower.
Tower of Dhur
New Enemies - Boss (Bestiary 61/74)

Ive gives us a little introduction with the help of Gnart. But before we jump into this, we have been around the block, so why don't we run home to Plumpet to re-stock? Talk to Frogboy about the Galeacle while you're there. Pop down to the beach so it and the Nauticle can play with their friends, and you're rewarded with the Air Master and Water Master perk recipes (Perk Talent 13 and 14/19). Stop by the Forge, you probably have several options available to you, and you might be able to make two at the moment.

Make your choices (I went with Ive's Angel Bow and Amon's Serrated Dagger (Weapons 7-8/15)), then head over to PAT to decode the Valvurian Tablets you should have. Then use Ive to decipher the maps. They're both in the an area we haven't made it to yet. Last but not least, go into the Hall of Custodians to craft your new talents so you don't forget. Taika gets the most use out of most of these Element Master tiles, the exceptions PAT doing a lot of good with Electro Master, and Gnart is the only one having use for the Air one.

Okay anyway, warp back to the Tower! Once you arrive, go through the left door first. Once you step into the middle area, the floor behind you will fall and now there's nowhere to go but forward. Start by going north through a doorway, then west through a difficult to notice passage. In this room is a Red Amri Lantern and a chest. Harness the red energy and go back to the room you started in, then head west. Charge and activate the red pedestal you run into to lower the flames. Follow the path available to you until another Red Amri Lantern appears. Defeat it and harness its energy and backtrack slightly to another pedestal and set of flames. Charge, Activate, then head back to where that Lantern was and the other set of nearby flames is also down. Defeat and harness the energy of the Yellow Amri Lantern in that area and grab the chest.

Return to the red pedestal and follow the path around. The path dead ends at a yellow pedestal, so Charge and Activate it to be lifted to a new part of the maze. Follow the path until you get to a long corridor going west, there are a couple of solo enemies you can group. Once they're done, keep right for another dead end with a chest containing Electro Blast++. Head south from here almost right into flames, but then go left into the next room for a convenient Red Amri Lantern. Defeat and harness it, feed that to the pedestal just north of the flames in your way. Then Activate it to open the route south.

There are a couple of enemies here to take out in the otherwise empty open area on your left. Combine them if you can with another Yellow Amri Lantern. Harness that yellow energy and feed it to the corresponding pedestal at the end of the winding southern path. Activate the yellow pedestal to get to the next area of the maze.

No enemies yet, just a stationary blue lantern to harness and then feed to the blue pedestal nearby. Harness another blue charge before crossing the now-raised floor that puts us right back where we started. Go right and through the hallway back to the Tower's main hub so you can feed that blue charge to the center tri-color pedestal. Save at the Onurasi and head through the central door this time. Head north for a yellow lantern to harness and a chest nearby. Go right back out the way you came in and feed the yellow charge to the tri-color pedestal.

Now go through the right door and follow the path north until it dead ends at another elevator with an empty yellow pedestal. Go through the passage to your due-left and open the chest at the north end that contains the Electro Lance++ recipe. Return to the yellow pedestal then head take the right southern path. The floor is out on the right fork, but a little more south there's a Yellow Amri Lantern to defeat and harness. Back to the yellow pedestal to Charge and Activate it so we're to the next part of the maze.

Around the corner are a couple of enemies, dispatch them and go west then north. Take out the Yellow Amri Lantern, harness from it, then on your way back dip briefly south for a chest. Inside is the Valvurian Armor Spike, a unique weapon component. Go to the east-most part of this area to find a yellow pedestal, Charge and Activate, and onto the next floor of the maze.

A Blue Amri Latern will come after you as soon as you load. Dispatch, harness, and then Charge and Activate the blue pedestal to your north. Head west and immediately south at the first fork, which takes you back to a yellow energy ball for you to harness. Turn right just past that and down a dead-end hall, you can't really see but there's a chest at the end. Go back to the hallway and then south to a big open area. On your right there's a yellow pedestal to Charge and Activate to take us to the next area of the maze.

Follow the path around to a Blue Amri Lantern to fight. Harness its blue energy then follow the path until you find a blue pedestal to Charge and Activate. The southern area will open and there are enemies there. Harness from the nearby stationary red lantern, then go back to the same yellow elevator you just came from. We're back on a familiar floor again, head west then south and around to a red pedestal. You can Charge this pedestal if you want, but all it does it turn on/off the flames in the grate right next to it - and then you have to go back and get another red charge. So it's mostly seems pointless to Charge it, but that choice is yours.

In either case, with a Amon holding a red charge head through the passage way, just past the red pedestal, leading west to finally loop back to the Tower's central hub and can feed the tri-color pedestal its red charge. Save at the Onurasi, switch PAT out for now, then shore up everyone's health via potions or warping to Plumpet and back. Then Activate the tri-color pedestal for a ride that feels very much like doom.

Twisted Guardian

Strategy

So this guy is a bit tough. He has an electric attack called Harness Energy that is absolutely capable of wiping the party, so start by doing as much as you can before the battle to prevent that from happening. Taika and Gnart are great choices for the party. From there our next best bet is Ive and Amon.

Next, take a look at stances and bonds. Taika and Gnart maxed out with 5 stars gives big boosts to healing and shields, making this a great time for Taika's Packmate(Howl) stance. Amon and Ive's bonds are a little all over the place, but Ammo Master and Double Agent if you have the pair maxed out are going to help a lot here.

Going back to the Guardian, it only uses that dreaded Harness Energy attack after it's made the whole party electric-weak. So we want to have either Ive or Amon in their melee stance so they can spam Cloak so the Guardian can't cast on them, and the other in their ranged stance with all that super-powered ammo we've made. Since this Guardians is also immune to Bleed, the best part of Amon's Thief stance, put him in Blaster stance so Ive can cast Poison Traps and he can detonate them.

Now make sure everyone has Double Turn, Energised, and spend additional points to add Resilience tiles as needed. Keep Ive Cloaked at all costs and then cast Poison trap, which Amon detonates with a Blast++. Taika buffs each member with Elemental Absorb first then Elemental Howl across the party, and Gnart keeps everyone alive. Be mindful that Ive cannot be target even by allies when cloaked, so you may want to get the Elemental Absorb up on her before cloaking, if possible.

Side Questing V
(continue from Twisted Guardian Boss) - When you finally take the big guy down, you'll receive the Piercing Upgrade for PAT as well as the Battle Medic Perk recipe (Perk Talent 15/19) and a free copy.

Collect the Amri-Electron from the ornate chest in the back of the room and head back downstairs. That's all the ingredients for Lumia that we can find on this side of the planet, but have a couple loose ends to tie up here first, so warp to Plumpet and back for a quick heal.

Side Questing
Leave the Temple and balance your party between your lower-level characters and your lower-starred bond pairs, and basically retrace your steps back towards the Scrollroad Plains to finish gathering Bond Nuts for Porkins and find that last Golden Bibi, if not completed already. Along the way, draw enemy groups as big as you can then trade pairs and party pairs and members to add Stars to those bonds. This is about as close to grinding as we'll get, but it's still productive in terms of achievements and getting everyone as close to 5-star bonded as possible before we hit the next difficulty spike. Depending on how much time you put into working on bonds and level, some of your characters, such as Amon, may even start to hit the level cap at 20.

With that done, stop by the Forest Glade to deliver Prof N. Porkins his Bond Nuts. Talk to him again to get the Purified Air. Buy what you need for weapon crafting or just buy up all the Strong Leather Straps, Konk then Suvium Ores, and Suvium Pins as those materials don't come out of scrap heaps as often.

Now get back to your nearest Onurasi to warp back to Plumpet Island. If you just finished getting the Golden Dusky Bib, head over to the Farmoury Garden to release it for the Critter King Achievement. Having all three Golden Bibis cuts the time your plants take to be ready to harvest by a whopping 75%.

Spend time in the Garden, which should be almost full by now with 3-leaf level plants, and you probably have enough money that you can ignore the Minor plants again. One plant I sort of forgot to farm on for a little bit was the Spark Bloom - but I almost immediately go the Spark Bloom Magnum. Make sure to get this and level it up, as the Potent Shock Root you get from it is needed to continue the next part of Benjo's Cure.

Buy what you need from Frogboy so you can make five extra copies of Battle Medic, and do so in the Hall of Custodians. Add it to everyone's Talent Board as soon you can, everyone should have room for it depending on how you built our boards. If you need room for Olia and Taika, I suggest trading perks like Quick Rest or Master Health to get that in.

This is a good time to have all your characters check in with each other, a lot has happened since the last time we did that. The Trophy Room should also be shaping up quite nicely if you haven't checked in there recently. You should have everything now for Uncle Benjo's cure, so next, we need to warp back to the Bone Tree. Go on in and Prof I. Porkins is still wandering around not being helpful. Go to the center area, just to the right of Tramelbone's Sword you'll find an Inspect spot where the Clay Orchid instantly grows.

Leave the Bone Tree so you can warp back to Plumpet and then to Suvia to the Owl House. Make a real quick run-up to the Infirmary to purchase the Healing Elixir+ recipe if you don't already have it, then back down to Prof S. Porkins in the library. Give him the ingredients for a scene. Uncle Benjo is healthy and safe at last! And another task is crossed off for the Well Traveled achievement. Now to stop our enemy and save the world, we have to cross to the other side of Umbra. Before we go, though, be sure to speak with Tilda. With all this emotional stuff handled, warp back to Plumpet and Save, then warp again to the Tower of Dhur.

Leave the Tower and speed-hover your way east then across the bridge and head east again. It's fine to get into a couple of fights along the way to the big windowed building we ignored before but grab the Bond Nuts right outside because they do help.
Underwater Mile
New Enemies - Conductor Bot, Miner Bot, Boss (Bestiary 64/74)

The entrance here is quite lovely actually, a train crash and all. Cross the path over the rails to the station itself then switch to PAT and use his have him Activate the neon green console. Enter for a quick scene. If you're still missing ghosts, this place is pretty haunted, you can add From Beyond back to someone, if you took it off previously. Either way, save at the Onurasi and let's get on with it.

Follow the path but at the right turn be ready for some new robot enemies; use Olia's whistle to draw them all at once. These robots are weak to electric just like PAT so light 'em up as you make your way around to the other side the upper floor. Paradoxically, PAT also dishes out serious electric damage, so take advantage of that. Open the chest for the Ice Blast+ recipe and Pure Energy item, then go back the crossway and down the stairs going south.

Look like we're taking a train to the dark side of the world, but first we need to open the gate. Underneath the stairs you came down are some buttons for the two train gates. Switch to PAT and turn on the buttons for our train's gate to match the others that are already lit up. Board the left train and we're on our way to Nadir!

Except it's not that simple, of course. With no one operating the track switches anymore, we have to do it ourselves. At the first stop, turn on all three switches so you can walk across to grab a chest , then turn right-most switch off again to get the train lined up with the track and reboard. At the next stop, light the left switch to reach the left-most chest containing the Ice Lance+ recipe. Turn it off, then switch the center switch for the right-most chest containing the Valvurian Hover Glyph (for Weapon Crafting). Then (leaving the middle one), turn on the right switch to reach the center chest. The train is also facing the right way now, so reboard and carry on.

The next stop isn't puzzle-y, just take out the bots and flip the switch. Same for the next one. And the next one. And the one after that has an Onurasi! So take that baby back to Plumpet and lets make some of this new ammo. Visit Amon to craft the Sapphire Glove for Ive (Weapons 9/15). Then warp back to the Underwater Mile, save, and light the switch for the train. Unfortunately, our trip is interrupted.

Sentient Train

Strategy

Weak Agaist: Electric
If you're pretty high level(18 or so) and pretty well bonded(only a couple pairs not yet at 5-stars), this boss is a piece of cake.

It's a machine and you've got lots of options for electric damage now. Just hit it with electro everything and, it'll be down in a couple turns.
The Poison Trap / Blast ++ (specifically Electro Blast++) combo we used for the Twisted Guardian works wonders for a speedy win.

For your reward, you some abilities for PAT and Ive, and the And Back Again Perk recipe (Perk Talent 16/19) with a free copy. You'll want to make more of that one because it definitely comes in handy.

With the Train dismantled, we finally reach our destination. The dark side of Umbra that's not been touched by civilization in a very long time, until recently. As Olia calls it, The Night. There's an Onurasi here, so save and leave the station.
Overworld - Nadir
New Enemies - Blue Nafnlaus, Ice Chompino, Onyx Crabler, Bhagarest (Blue), Little Marvel (Blue) (Bestiary 69/74)

Okay so remember how I said the ghost thing would come back very near the end of the game? Well here we are. Apparently Nadir-ghosts are different from others, and one we need to take out for the Bestiary. So add From Beyond back to someone's board and go directly south. There should be a group of ghosts there, fight them, and after the Bestiary should now have entries for a blue/purple-ghost Nafnlaus and a tan-ghost Nafnlaus (which I googled for you, it means 'nameless' in Icelandic!). Once that's done, you can replace From Beyond again. Also in this area is a two-dig Treasure spot (22/28).

So the difficulty spike isn't as severe as when we entered the Konkylian Plains the first time, but it will be a bit of an adjustment so take care. Somewhere in here you'll encounter a Blue Bhagarest and a Blue Little Marvel, make sure Taika uses Sixth Sense on them to learn Gust and Frost Bite (Taika Ability 3-4/4). Next make sure Amon picks up the piece of scrap near the station(it should contain the mysterious Air Scepter) and head back inside the Underwater Mile.

Warp to Plumpet so you can make enough copies of And Back Again for everyone, then warp to Zaber. Plant the Feathery Seed and the Bone Seed, which will earn you:

Speak with Ifridos to turn in the Plains Scavenging quest and pick up Nadir Scavenging, the last one. Now do a double warp back to the Nunaar Station and head back outside. Step out onto the piece of ice jutting out into the air and pick up a piece of Airship Debris. We'll need this in a little bit. Head north this time to the Treasure Spot (23/28) around the corner, three digs to get one not very impressive chest.

Make your way all the way around the raised pathway and when you get to the fork, stay left, and grab another piece of Airship Debris on the second jutting slab of ice. Continue following the path until you run into the wreckage of a crashed airship. Take a look around for a surprising scene. Speak with the injured person for a quest to help him repair the ship and luckily we already found a couple of pieces of the debris he needs.

Now head to the northwest area from the ship. Clear out the area of enemies (there's a lot!) so you can move about in peace, then go behind the ominous tower for another Treasure Spot (24/28) with two dig spots for one chest. Next to the rail car, just south of the towerm is another piece of Airship Debris, along with some scrap on one side and the next Treasure Spot (25/28) on the other that contains another two digs with a chest and a Valvurian Tablet.

Now head back south past the airship and go east along the coastline. At the split, grab the Airship Debris on the right then continue north toward the X at the back of a partitioned off area. Near the X is the Icacle, so make sure to lure out any other enemies (if any spawn) first and sure up everyone's health. This fight is much like the others. You'll definitely need to watch out for the Iceacle snowstorm attack - it will sweep your team. I highly recommend being sure to have Gnart's Special at the ready and use it when your party is around half-health, do that and you should be fine. Your reward is some much needed Stat tiles for the Talent Board. Also, dig for the not-so-great Treasure Spot (26/28) with two digs.

Head back south and follow the eastern path of the fork, swining north toward the last X and quest marker. This area has another swarm of enemies so draw them up in big groups so you can move around. Once you're clear, the last piece of Airship Debris is on the left side of the area by a big rock, along with the last Treasure Spot (27/28) with two chests, one of which contains a Mystic Key. There are two pieces of scrap are here, one is a little sneaky behind an even bigger rock, which should get you all of them for the area. If you missed any, go back and find them before moving on. If you've been diligent to work on your bonds, by time you finish up the area, you should get all pairs to 5-stars and receive:

Once you're ready, head into the cave entrance. Thank goodness there's an Onurasi right in front of us when we need it. Head toward it for a brief scene and warp back to Plumpet. There's a fair bit of loose ends we can tie up now.
Side Questing VI
A ton of our hard work is about to pay off big time. Start with Frogboy and let him know you have the Iceacle, then head down to the beach to release it. This unlocks the:

For our reward, you receive the Ice Master recipe (Perk Talent 17/19). Have Amon craft as much as he can because hoo boy we can go crazy. I got was able to craft the last of the weapon recipes I had left. (Weapons 10-14/15). Whatever you have left, make note of what you need. There's no more scrap in the world, so you'll have to stop somewhere and buy it.

So like Taika, PAT gets its alternate appearance by changing equipment, so take a look at them all but of course make your final choice based on stats. Head over PAT to decode that Valvurian Tablet we dug up to reveal... another map. Switch to Ive and head into the storage room, which will unlock:

Meaning the paintings on the second floor have all appeared because we've explored all the major dungeons in the game. You should see several new items around the room as well. Have Ive read the map that tells us to go back to where we just were. Well, that's going to have to wait a minute. Go make a copy of Ice Master, restock on whatever you need from the Farmoury, then warp back to Zaber.

Speak with Ifridos to turn in your Nadir scrap, which earns you:

Then speak with him again and select "I've Scavenged Everything!" If you forget this step, your Trophy back on Plumpet won't appear and you technically haven't met the requirement for Well Traveled. Since we're already here, head out to the desert to the Trading Post for whatever you still need for weapon crafting. If you're still missing something, do a warp around to Scrollroad Desert/Plains to hit up the Oasis and Forest Glade (respectively) to finish your shopping. Warp back to Plumpet and switch down to Amon at the Forge and make your final weapon(s). For me, I still have one more piece (the Earth Scepter doesn't count for the achievement), but we haven't found the recipe for it yet.

Take a minute now to adjust everyone's equipment and Talent Boards. You should also be pretty close to filling up everyone's Talent Boards - which requires each character to be level 20 to do (we will need this for another achievement). You might have to do a little re-balancing with folks using new stuff. Restock on whatever you need, and finally warp back to the Anvirum Cavern. But we still aren't going deeper in yet. Head over to the Treasure Spot (28/28) and dig up two spots for one chest and finally earn:

Now back to the crash site and speak with General Bran to fix the ship in a flash (one more task for Well Traveled down) and launch a nifty little scene which also unlocks:

Now make your way back over to the cavern to tackle it for real this time.
Anvirum Cavern
New Enemies - Droogo Warrior, Boss (Bestiary 71/74)

Save your game! We've made a lot of progress very quickly and don't want to lose it! From the Onurasi, immediately go lef to see a wall of ice on your left that Amon will break upon Inspection. Follow the path and you'll encounter some enemies and a chest containing Water Blast++. Continue left and shoot down another ice wall. Follow either path north and then east until you hit another ice wall. Shoot it and head back south at the fork to return to the Onurasi.

Now head east, shoot another wall, and keep going until the area opens up into almost like a split heading north, but veer south route to an ice wall and shoot it. Follow the path east until you come to a massive ice wall. Shoot it down to get a chest. Now head northeast through another ice wall back to the main path and then take the northeast fork again (through another wall) to find some enemies guarding another chest, this time containing Ice Lance++.

Back to the main path and circle around west. Break the ice wall north of the fork and enter a big open area. There's a chest with Ice Blast++. The path to the right just circles around, so take the path to the left leading to an Onurasi statue and a suspiciously frosty and empty room ahead. Heal up, save, and go on through. Oh, look! A decorative box right in front of us! But as you approach it...

Nahraan

Strategy

N/A

This boss takes after its cousin from the Burning Desert, and you can use the exact same strategy

Take out the hands, wait for it to collapse, slam it with everything you've got, rinse and repeat.

For my run, I paired up Amon and Ive for their Ammo Master perk - using the ol' Poison Trap/Fire Blast++ banger.
Of course Gnart for healing, and paired in Taika with the Blizzard Bangle to add Ice to his Elemental Absorb.

If you play your cards right and you might not even have to repeat. If you don't kill him first round, his second "phase" after the collapse is longer than Sharaan's. He will give you the Ice Debuff and do a party wide Ice attack, but he will ALSO do another around of a party wide Earth attack as well before shifting back to the start again.

Defeating the ice giant gets you the Immunity Chance Perk recipe (Perk Talent 18/19) with a free copy, the Imprison Field tile for PAT, and the Water Scepter.

Now we can open the chest in front of us containing the Arche-Ice. The room is otherwise empty, go exit the way you came. Backtrack all the way back to that main path you originally came from and head west. You'll come to a fork with an ice wall to the north. Break it and retrieve the chest, this path circles back to the main path through an ice wall. Back on the main path keep heading west (ended up getting an "Inspect" for an ice wall that didn't spawn?) until the next fork. Go north then take the left path and the next fork for the final chest of the area. Go back to that first fork and head south, and follow the right path at the fork to make it all the way back to the original Onurasi statue. Everyone should be close, if not already, to hitting level 20. Between this cavern and the Nadir Overworld, I would spend some time now finishing you're leveling - especially right outside the cavern you can sweep some large groups for good bonuses and then enter/exit the cavern to respawn them. Once you get everyone to level 20, you'll unlock:

Once you're done here, warp back to the island. With everyone level 20 now, you should finish filling out all the talent boards to unlock:

Craft up all the new ammo types you just got and adjust your ability menu buttons to accommodate. It's also a good time to craft the Earth Scepter, if you haven't already.

When ready, warp to Suvia and head up to the Owl House. Go up the left stairs to speak with Lady Lumia and hand over all these hard-earned elemental materials. She gifts you with six copies of the Lys Aegis Talent so we'll actually stand a chance against Ichabo and his champion. This also unlocks:

Don't worry about adding it to anyone's talent boards yet, before we return to Nadir to give Ichabo what he deserves, there's one more little bit of side questing to do now that we're big and strong and have all the pieces we need to do it. Go back to the town square and warp to the Tower of Dhur.

Save and exit to the Plains. Take the slope just beside you up to the northern plateau. Here you'll fine "The Shrine"
The Shrine
New Enemies - Optional Boss (72/74)

Upon entering, we'll get a little scene of introduction. There is a chest on the left side you can grab with a Valvurian Tablet. Inspect each of the four empty plinths to insert the element scepters we've gathered, which will cause a pillar to raise and reveal a chest within a raise column. THIS IS A TRAP! It's not a bad idea to fly back to the Tower at this point to save again so there's less to do after you wipe and reload, as it's fairly likely to happen. When you're good and ready, go up the stairs and attempt to open the chest.

Magoc The Hollow

Strategy

This colossal, incredibly menacing, enigmatic... thing comes at you swinging around 2,000 damage to your entire party turn after turn.

Pair up Gnart as Mage and Amon as Blaster for their buffs to Electro/Air and Resurrect; the Regen at the start of the battle is nice too. Then set up Ive as Slinger and Taika as Predator, most importantly for the reduction in electro damage received and the buff to criticals. Don't use Amon's Special at all, just have him popping off Electro Blast++ all day, and save all the Special turns for Gnart.

Have Ive with her Angel Bow going to town with Electro Lance++ and the boss must be earth-weak because Taika's Quake just utterly wrecks. Do not let a party member get below 2500HP, especially Gnart. You may even want to have Taika focus on throwing Healing Elixir+'s mostly as well. This battle is a marathon, not a sprint.

Take your time and eventually, the Hollow Knight will fall.

Your well-earned victory earns you:

Plus the right to open that treacherous chest to obtain the recipe for On The Brink (Perk Talent 19/19) with a free copy and the recipes for Spud Blast++ and Toxic Lance++.

Now we can head back to Plumpet knowing that with such a grand victory under our belt, Ichabo doesn't stand a chance. Now that you have the Toxic Lance++ recipe, your last mid-level plant should finally mutate. Plant the Poison Lily Magnum to finally earn:

Get to watering! Everything else in the garden should be leaf level 3 by now, so once you get the Poison Lily Magnum to level 3 you'll also unlock:

Next, go buy decode the new tablet with PAT for the Suvian Armor recipe. Make note of any last materials you need for it and go purchase them real quick / or if none, craft it to finish the last of the 15 equipment and unlock:

Next, purchase head to the Hall of Custodians and make not of how many Talents only have "x1". Purchase whatever number of Black Talents from Frogboy to meet that (you may have some in your inventory already). We need to make sure to craft 1 of every Talent and the easiest way to do this is to make sure you have at least two copies of everything because the free copies you've received DO NOT COUNT. You shouldn't lack materials but in case you're short something, elemental cores can be dug up with Taika on the beach, Frogboy sells all the common materials, and the Herbs all sell the Fine items. Once you've done that, you'll receive:

Make a bunch of your new ammo types(and adjust your Ability menu buttons), and that should be everything we can do now to prepare for the next stage. Warp to the Nunaar Station and step out once again into the cold. We're heading for the dark tower on the west end of the lower level. Hover, sneak-walk, or fight your way there. Enter for a scene.
Karba
New Enemies - Boss x2 (74/74)

As Gnart mentions, swap out perk talents for the Lys' Aegis. I'll leave it mostly to your discretion, but talents I highly recommend keeping are:

  • It's a KO
  • Double Turn (except maybe on PAT unless you've for some reason spent a lot of space on Agility tiles)
  • And Back Again
  • Energised

Battle Medic and Quick Step are also good for certain characters, but not necessarily everyone needs them. QuickRest and Bonds of Battle aren't really necessary anymore. Taika and PAT the hardest for this. For Taika, I recommend replacing Water Master or whatever element Master tile you have up that you aren't using much. For PAT, I went with replacing the Crushing Upgrade versus any of the ones I listed above or Electrical Master.

Once you're set, follow the snow-covered path down to the brick pathway. You'll see a ramp going up the center platform, but go down and east for a fight and then an almost buried chest at the left end of this area, containing the Lance++ recipe. Now head up to the center platform to the Onurasi statue. If you want, you can warp to Plumpet to make this new ammo and a free heal.

Save no matter what then head up the stairs leading north for a scene puts a lot story into perspective.

Ichabo & Bryn

Strategy

This should be a totally different battle than last time with the Lys Aegis Talents. With Devastate ineffective now, it puts you at even terms with this fight.

Ichabo will cast Reflect, an total immunity against all attacks that send your damage back at you, routinely throughout the fight. Just bide your time and stay alive until it runs out. Focus on Ichabo throwing as much damage and stack as many status ailments as you can. When Ichabo casts Reflect again, just focus on healing for a turn or two, then debuffs like Blood Shout and Mark Target right before their immunity goes out.

When Reflect fades, go back to the same tactic of stacking status ailments with damage to finish Ichabo. Once Ichabo is done, now work on Bryn. Without the Reflect effect, Bryn will go down pretty quick with little hassle.

You'll get some Talent tiles, and an impressive scene. You'll be eager to interactive with the green glow that Ichabo created, but there's more to do first. Warp to the island and back for a heal then take the ramp back at the platform we just fought down on the left and through the entryway.
Karba Prison
Long story short, these cells hold previous mean bosses you've fought in the past either teamed up or with annoying accompaniments. It's optional if you aren't trying to get every achievement, but we've gotten this far so why not?! Boss rush anyone?

You should have a Mystic Key, so Open the first door on your left and say yes.

Mushriga & Chomper

Strategy

Weak Agaist: Fire / Slashing
The Chomper seem more vulnerable to its weaknesses, so take it out first.

Have one party member on duty for tiny shrooms the Shriga spawns, Gnart on heals, and whoever else focused on the Mushriga Herself. Fire and slash your way to victory.

When the battle is over, go to the end of the cell for another Mystic Key. Heal with Elixirs or go outside to the center platform to save and double warp to Plumpet and back. Open the next cell to find... absolutely nothing. Try the next one over.

Varluk Drooh & Gobking

Strategy

Gobking still has his counter-attack while Varluk feels a bit easier than his first encounter. For this fight I had Amon and Ive in ranged stances focusing on Gobking to negate his counter-atack. I used Olia focused on Varluk, her Slashing Strike seemed to really do a number on Varluk. And of course, Gnart on healing duty.

I pretty much took them both down within a round of each other, though, in this method with little difficulty..

After they're done, heal up and the next cell that opens is two over.

Quadragon

Strategy

Strong Agaist: Fire, Exploding
Weak Agaist: Water, Piercing
Although we fought these normally in the world, this is like a supercharged version.

It hits pretty hard with its Fire blast that will apply burn to your whole party. Otherwise, keep heals up and should go down without too much trouble.

Once it's defeated, the next key will be in the back of its cell. We're about half-way through the Prison now, so it's definitely a good time exit back outside to the Onurasi to heal/restock at Plumpet and save if you haven't yet.

Once you're back at the Prison, open the cell two over from the center (next one right from the Quadragon cell), and again it's totally empty. Try the next one to your right.

Sentient Train & Co

Strategy

Weak Agaist: Electric
This will probably be the easiest fight here. Everything is weak to electric.

Once you start getting your first skills and get those guaranteed Criticals, everything will just sweep real quick.

If you have your special charged, Taika equpped with her Electric Bangle and using the Lightning Special will work wonders in clearing down HP - or even killing several enemies depending on how many are left.

In the back of the cell is another Mystic Key. Heal up, leave the cell, and take the elevator directly across from the cell to the lower floor. Go around the other end of U-shaped hallways so we can take this floor left-to-right as well. The first door Opens and inside...

Tremelbone & Varluk Drooh (again)

Strategy

I cleared this boss relatively uncathed using Amon and Ive in ranged and Gnart and Olia on team as well.

Varluk is the weaker link of the duo, but this version hits harder. Focus on taking him out first.

Once he's down, if needed, spend some turns healing up - or using Gnarts Healing S if bond bar is full. Tremelbone is Bleed immune, so blow him up with other status ailments and physical damage.

At the end of their cell is another Mystic Key. Do any saving, healing, and crafting if you want and head to our next cell over.

Chomper x2

Strategy

Weak Agaist: Slashing
There will be a more normal green one and then a much darker, almost black, colored one.

Start the normal green one because it seems hit much harder. Then the darker one will go down pretty easy after.

At the back of their cell is another Mystic Key. Leave the cell and open the center cell of this floor.

Temple Guardian x2

Strategy

They hit pretty hard but they aren't at all complicated, though physical damage doesn't do very much.

Just focus on taking one at a time with water/ice/earth damage and you'll be fine.

Make sure you're healed and ready, then enter the next cell over.

Gobking (again) & Co

Strategy

This one can be a little tough, but take down the flyers and the ones in the back with guns first and you'll be fine.

Between the flying enemies and Gobking's counter, ranged is the route again. Once all the king's friends are out of the picture, he'll go down in a spray of ammo

In the back of the cell is another Mystic key. Run back outside to save again and flash to Plumpet if necessary. Back into the Prison and down the elevator for the last cell on this floor.

remelbone (again) & Co

Strategy

N/A

This is another one that can be a bit rough. Use Ice/Bleed and focus down the warriors first. This will make the battle considerably easier once they are gone.

After that it's for the course on Tremelbone until he's down - we've done this one enough to breeze through him.

Take the elevator back up and enter the last cell at the center. Surprise!

You'll also see two chests, a mysterious portal.

The chests contain a huge Stat tile dump that will help very much to get everyone's Talent Boards centered on their best attributes without leaving their defenses behind. Get to where you feel settled with that, then run outside to save before you enter the portal. This place didn't exist at all in the original game and is even very different from previous patches of this version. It now seems to be an endless and random abyss of enemies big and small.

I guess if you need any last-minute grinding, this is the place to be! When you're done going down this rabbit hole, warp to the island and back one more time and save, then approach the glowing green portal our nemesis left behind.
Chasing Ichabo
New Enemies - Dark Mirror (75/81)

Feel free to swap the Lys' Aegis tiles back off your Talent Boards, as they are used for anything anymore. The path here is very linear so full steam ahead. The single enemy type here is large and can hit hard. They also use Imprison Field which makes ranged necessary and also prevents healing spells or items from taking effect, so know who does and doesn't have that status before wasting turns. Once you've fought one Dark Mirror, your Bestiary should be full except for the last six spots at the very bottom.

Eventually, the texture of the ground will change as you hit a sort-of puzzle. Enter the area to find a dead-end then walk back out, changing the configuration of the floor. Enter again and follow the path to see some symbols on the floor. First, go stand on the bottom left one with a circular pattern on it. The floor will change again, this time with new symbols on the ground. Go stand on the central northern symbol with a big diamond-shape surrounded by small diamonds.

The floor changes again, and now we're looking for the symbol that basically looks just like PAT. One more shift, find the rose symbol in the northeast corner. The path is a little optical-illusion-y, but find the ramp made of slightly taller and taller pillars in the center of the floor to make your way up to the next section. The rest of the way is also linear so continue on until you reach a winding path north heading for what looks like absolutely no good.
Stasis Chamber - The Point of No Return
One last Onurasi to warp us home so we can regroup and restock before the final push. Take a spin around the Trophy Room, it should be quite impressive by now. There are still a couple more open spots, though. Get your Talent Board exactly how you want it. Squeezing One the Brink for your heavy hitters/casters and Immunity Chance on your squishier characters (but probably not both) is a good idea, and you know my favorite tiles already, but at the end of the day, the final set up really depends on your play style. When you're ready, return to the Stasis Chamber, save your game, and Inspect the pool of pure Amri for a scene. You'll get

Well, whatever this place is, there's nowhere to go but forward. Here you'll find the final six enemies for the Bestiary, the Shadow versions of yourselves - There was a chance to encounter them inside the portal in the Prison. They aren't too difficult here unless in big groups, so keep an eye on your enemy counter as you progress through here and start the fight if you see it hits 3. Amon's Stun ability also works wonders for Shadow Olia's who are in the counter-stance.

We'll make our way to the glowing pillar of light, but make sure you find all six Shadow versions before you get there. It can take a minute, so I recommend full melee stances to conserve ammo for the final boss. Save your Specials and Elixirs as best you can. PAT is the trickiest one to locate; I guess his little shaky gait makes it hard to emerge from the dark depths of the eternal abyss.

Anyway, let's get going. Navigating here isn't fun because the paths between platforms are hard to see, but they're there. Take the left path first until you get to the chest. Starting head back eastward on the raised stone path but stop just before the larger stone structure/you enter back into water. Head north through water again to another raised stone bath, then go west for another chest. Heading back you'll notice the underwater path is forked. Take it northeast, don't worry about getting too close to the pillar, you won't accidentally start anything yet.

There will be another underwater fork, follow it due-east and you'll see a chest submerged in the water just above you. This is also were I found my Shadow Amon and Shadow PAT. So with all six Shadows down you'll hit Bestiary (81/81), finally earning:

From here follow the path as it curbs south and then forks to a raise stone path and a submerged path. Head east on the submerged path to a broke bridge structure with a chest. Backtrack to the submerged chest and hop thru the water to the stone path just north of it. Follow this path east to another submerged chest. Follow this path back west. When you hit a fork, go north (toward the pillar of light), to a small stone platform. Then follow the submerged path to the left for one last chest. This is your last chance to do any re-arranging for equipment and Talents - and especially making sure you have fought all 6 shadow clones. Continue following the path to the Light Pillar for a scene and to face down Ichabo once and for all.

Valvur Ichabo

Strategy

Setup:

  • Amon as Thief paired with Olia as Warrior
  • Ive as Slinger paired with Gnart as Mage

This boss is susceptible to Poison and Bleed, so have Olia renewing her Blood Shout whenever it fades and Amon slicing and dicing with his Serrated Dagger. Olia's Oar of War is a little more suited to this battle than the Elemental Lance, so equip her with it and make some last-minute adjustments on her Talent Board if you need to. Let Ive go to town with Toxic Lance++ and Gnart is on heals with the VERY occasional Whirlwind.

Ichabo uses his Reflect Shield ability occasionally, with his wings fully concealing him, rendering elemental anything a bad idea. Here Ive can either use just regular Lance++, or switch to Scout and assist Gnart with healing duties. Amon and Olia can keep doing what they're doing. Once the Reflect Shield goes down, look out for his Torment abilities. That's probably when you'll want to pop Gnart's Heal S and Regen S. Use Amon's Special when you can, but make sure it's when the Reflect Shield is inactive.

From time to time, he'll start summoning more Shadows of your team. Take those out quickly, especially any Gnarts you see in Mage stance. After a couple turns, he'll Sacrifice them to regain health. The next really nasty move is Total Corruption that might take a couple of members out. It's fine the first time, but keep an eye on these folks after they're auto-rezzed so you don't have to spend turns on Resurrect/Kisses of Lys.

Both Gnart and Amon's Specials should come around again at least once, use Gnart's immediately and Amon's when the Reflect Shield is down. Rinse and repeat until victory is yours.

After defeating Ichabo for good, our team makes their dramatic escape from the void and you will get the well earned:

Once we're back to the Amri pool, we have a small breather where the fact we JUST. SAVED. THE. WORLD slowly dawns on our intrepid team. Then, we're transported back to Suvia which unlocks:

Here you are given an opportunity to clean up anything you missed along the way. Some of the more complicated/drawn out achievements are explained with more detail on the next page. If the Well Traveled achievement didn't pop during post-final boss, head back to Plumpet Island and take a quick step into the Trophy Room. If you don't make regular stops as you gather all the items for the achievement, it won't populate the collection. As soon as you step in, at this point, the achievement should unlock if you've completed everything for it. When you're ready, return to Suvia. Speak with Tilda at the entrance of Lady Lumia's chamber and answer 'Yes' to share your success with the world for an incredibly satisfying, joyful scene and let the credits roll.

Thank you so much for using this walkthrough! I hope you've enjoyed this game as much as I have.
