Description

Works on 1.10.x

Authority is the capacity to effect top-down internal change in your country. This mod makes it so that as the institutions of state become more robust, the state has a greater capacity to effect change, as well as adjusting some laws to better suit this concept.

It was strange that laws like police and internal security don't give authority, so this mod fixes that. Inversely, guaranteed liberties now lose authority, but investing further in the home affairs institution can regain it.

The authority of the state now exists beyond simple traditional authoritarianism, while still emphasising the power of authoritarian regimes.

Consider using Better Decrees to utilise your newly realised authority

Compatibility:
Overwrites only the specific laws modified. Will be compatible with any mod that adds laws or changes ones this mod does not touch. If they do clash and you prefer these laws giving authority, putting this mod after in the playlist mod load order should work.

Hi! Suggesting that MoG_game_start_institution_modifier.txt having institution level 6 added as it would make BPM compatibility a lot smoother -- accidentally discovered this while trying to figure out why upping my police to level 6 with Law & Authority tanked my authority.

There's an issue with this mod in 1.9.X. I'm playing as France and the admin buildings in Paris periodically empty out and then fill up again with this mod active. This is also happening with Better Decrees active. Turn the mods off, and I don't get this cyclical behavior.
