True 2D platforming - in 360 degrees!

They Need To Be Fed is a straight-forward 2D platformer game, with a twist. You can't fall to your death per se, because you'll always be pulled in by a nearby object's gravity. But that doesn’t mean you won’t be challenged; hazards come by way of….other things. Gravity is one of your few friends, in fact!

The goal of the game may also come as something of a surprise. Your quest in each level, is to feed yourself to the monster at the end.

Why? Well, why not? They need to be fed, after all!

The controls are simple, yet you will need to practice in order master the art of fluidly navigating this colourful universe. Things move, rotate, sway and swing and you must do the same if you wish to collect diamonds and keys and unlock new worlds. Along the way you'll encounter various obstacles, enemies and other challenges.

"They Need To Be Fed" was originally released for mobile, in 3 parts. The “Ultimate Edition” puts them all together for the first time, on PC & Mac.

Here are some comments the mobile versions have received:

Originally posted by Kotaku:
“They Need To Be Fed 2 is a near-perfect mobile platformer. [...] an incredibly satisfying experience.”

Originally posted by Stuff.TV:
“…this is one of the smartest, most inventive, and addictive platform titles around for touchscreen devices.”

Although the game is great on mobile, personally we find that the keyboard or a gamepad controller is just a tad more responsive. That's another reason we call this the "Ultimate Edition".

• Over 150 hand-crafted levels
• 21 exciting worlds
• Groovy original soundtrack
• Slick 2D visuals
• 50+ achievements
• Epic Mode - for the masochists
• Countless hours of platforming fun

About us

Jesse Venbrux
Jesse is game programmer and designer, having designed many games over the last decade. One of his most popular games was "Karoshi", a silly but clever puzzle platformer in which the goal of each level was to kill yourself. His dark humor can still be found in They Need To Be Fed Ultimate.

Jake Almond
Jake had the great fortune of connecting with Jesse Venbrux back in 2009. It all started from a simple ‘I like your games - do you need any audio?’ e-mail. Since then Jake and Jesse have worked on many indie projects together.
Jake is the audio guy – he’s responsible for the all of the stuff which involves your ears. He loves laughing, tea and embarrassing people by dancing.

Looks great! I upvoted it to help get it on Steam. I don't play these types of games but I'm sure others would quite enjoy it.

This game looks a little simple... But all the environment makes it funny. All these switches, gravity, spikes and stuff. Even boss levels... This will give us hours of fun... (I think). Sorry for bad grammar or something.
