That's right, it's easy!
Recall all those lobby-replacement workshop submissions? The steps they took to make those works of art can be plainly summarized into doable steps.

  1. Download Bink RAD video tools from here[www.radgametools.com] and install.

  2. Obtain footage to convert.

  3. Open RAD video tools, select the footage, and "Bink it!"
The only change necessary to fit the resulting footage in the killing floor lobby window is found in the "Input video settings". Adjust Width=320 and Height=280.

  4. Select "Bink" and watch it convert.

  5. Take the resulting file, rename it Movie#.bik (where # is an integer between 1 and 6 inclusive) and place it in ...\KillingFloor\Movies.

  6. Enjoy
Forseeable Questions
Why did you create this guide?
I am annoyed at seeing the sheer quantity of personalized lobby replacement videos in the workshop. This is made in an effort to reduce the need for submitting individualized lobby-replacement videos.

I want to get footage from Youtube and/or other internet video site. How do I go about doing so?
There are plenty of online youtube video downloaders. Google for them. If you still want a quick suggestion, give keepvid[www.keepvid.com] a shot. Suggestion: if using keepvid, download the "(max 480p)" version.

Bink won't convert my footage. Help?
Many common issues are mentioned in their FAQ[www.radgametools.com]

If you are getting "Error opening, 'filename'" when converting a .mp4 file, try installing Quicktime.[www.apple.com]

Gah! Forcing the resize is squishing my widescreen footage. Any way around it?
Do the math yourself. FootageHeight*(320/FootageWidth)=InputHeight

Can I use multiple different lobby replacement videos?
Sure. You can even delete the contents of the ...\KillingFloor\Movies folder and not have any videos playing without breaking the game (which is what I originally did to give myself peace and quiet in the lobby).

I have trouble hearing my video audio in the lobby. Any way to make them heard?
The lobby video sound is directly related to your game volume. If you have it fairly low, it might be worth increasing the video's audio. A solid free audio-editing program is Audacity[audacity.sourceforge.net]. —Credit to Alcatrez Zombie for suggestion

So for some reason when I convert the files the screen appears in black and there's only audio. When I open the KF videos I do see the video and audio so im not sure what's causing the missing video.

Nothing. Now Bink will now know what to do with the .mp4 encoding.
