Killing Floor 2 Features Guide (Work In Progress)

This is not really a guide, this is a large gathering of EVERYTHING Killing Floor 2 related that is all put together in 1 nice neat little package, this is to help everyone learn & understand everything we can expect to see in Killing Floor 2 upon release. You can expect tips about ZED's, what weapons we are going to be seeing, source materials about everything Killing Floor 2 related, Videos, Articals, Screenshots, etc.

The Community is encouraged to put in some input as well, if you shed some light over the ZED's and i find your theories plausible i'll give you a shout out.

Killing Floor 2 ZED's (Returning ZED's)

In this Section i'm going to place in order each of the ZED's who are returning from Killing Floor 1 & give my speculation as to what we can expect from them in Killing Floor 2.

Note:
In Killing Floor 2 it seems like a lot of the older returning ZED's have new and improved attacks & smarter AI which means you can expect them to be a lot more fearsome than Killing Floor 1.

Clot:

Overview:
The Clot is a returning ZED from Killing Floor 1, the Clot is notorious for his grappling which can stop any class from getting away except for Berserker who is immune to his filthy little grip.

Although the Clot is not deadly alone if you're stuck in a clutter of them you're sure to become the next meal.

What's New?:
Well from what i can tell not a lot, The clot has not gone through a whole lot of changes except for the fact he can now run you can expect him to be a bigger pain in the back.

CONFIRMED:

Clots will attempt to dodge your attacks on harder difficulties & will run on the hardest difficulties.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
Simple enough answer you can expect to see the Clot from Wave 1 through till the Boss Wave as is the same for Killing Floor 1.

Bloat:

Overview:
The Bloat is a returning ZED from Killing Floor 1, the Bloat is the slowest of all the ZED's but don't think he is the easiest, oh no he's one of the more challenging ZED's to kill due to his large health pool and good damage resistance from all weapons. The Bloat uses his Meat Cleavers to deal Melee damage to close range targets & for fleeing targets he will use his Bile to cause acidic damage and eat away at your Armour and Health with massive effect. Medic & Berserker will have an easier time surviving an encounter with a Bloat due to their resistance to his Bile.

What's New?:
New additions to the Bloat's arsenal are his ability to attack from behind now. (More info can be seen in the video) The bloat also moves a lot faster than in the original game.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
You can expect to see the Bloat from Wave 1 through till the Final Wave as is the same with Killing Floor 1.

Gorefast:

Overview:
The Gorefast is another returning ZED from Killing Floor 1, he is fast, and carries a deadly blade on his right arm which he can use to "Gore" you "Fast" hence the name "Gorefast", he's passive until he gets within a certain distance of the player at which point he will charge at you and cause massive damage if you're not fast enough to dodge his attacks or kill him.

What's New?:
From what i have seen he has not changed a lot mechanic wise, he has a longer range now at which point he can charge & he can now jump at you from a distance to close the gap between you & him. Other than this very similar and still a big threat.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
You can expect Gorefasts to spawn at Wave 1 up till the Final Wave as in Killing Floor 1.

Husk:

Overview:
The Husk is a returning ZED from Killing Floor 1, the Husk is probably the most hated ZED in Killing Floor 1 other than the Siren because of his ranged attacks & splash damage from his Napalm Launcher, not only that but he's a dead eye and VERY rarely misses his shots especially on harder difficulties, the Husk also has fire resistance so fire weapons are practically useless unless used by a Firebug & even then aren't greatly effective.

What's New?:
The Husk now has a close range attack other than melee, it's a flamethrower move which deals heavy damage. This significantly makes it harder to get in and kill the Husk at close range. Lieutenant Skittles told me that the Husk when in a very close proximity to a play will attempt to blow you up by suicide bombing itself.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
Husks in Killing Floor 1 spawned at Wave 2 and beyond but now they spawn right from the beginning.

Crawler:

Overview:
The Crawler is another returning ZED from Killing Floor 1 which is another hated enemy type, the Crawler has the ability to spawn in packs of about 6 and also it spawns in small places like air ducts, etc which are placed in almost every room so it's hard to avoid, it moves fast & can jump from a fair distance away to get you if you're trying to flee from it.

What's New?:
The Crawler has had a lot of changes & now has the ability to crawl along ceilings and walls which makes it so much more annoying to players now, it's hard enough to hit while it's moving on the ground, now make that even harder while it's changing different surfaces. The Crawler also has a lot longer jumping range & moves a lot faster.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
The Crawler used to spawn at Wave 3 all the way to the Boss Wave (After the Patriarch heals for the second time) in Killing Floor 1, now the Crawler spawns on wave 1.

Stalker:

Overview:
The Stalker is a returning ZED from Killing Floor 1, she's not very dangerous because of her need to get in close but at that point she still needs to stop to attack you, which means she can't deal damage to you if you're still moving but she can cloak which means that if you're throwing grenades around or using explosive weapons you can end up killing yourself on an invisible pest.

What's New?:
The Stalker now has a very effective cloaking method making it a lot harder to see them coming in cloak, she also has the ability to do a cartwheel & dodge your attacks as well as make it harder for you to get the perfect headshot. Stalkers also leap at players now.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
In Killing Floor 1 Stalkers spawned at Wave 3 up to the Boss Wave (after the Patriarch's 3rd heal) they will spawn along side Crawlers because of them sharing the same spawn points. In Killing Floor 2 Crawlers & Stalkers have seperate spawn points & spawn on Wave 1.

The seducing Stalker may have better chances dodging bullets during her attacks (similar to the KF1 Spider)

Killing Floor 2 (Returning ZED's Continued)

Siren:

Overview:
The Siren is probably the single most hated ZED from Killing Floor 1, she has the ability to go incognito in the middle of a firefight and sneak up on the unsuspecting victims until it's too late. The Siren has 2 types of attacks that she uses, the Siren will attempt to bite a victim which is within Melee range & if you're at a distance she will use her ear splitting scream to pop your head like a melon. (Keep in mind that this attack avoids Armour)

What's New?:
The Siren has gone through several different changes.

The Siren now moves faster walking & can even run she is now a larger threat, The Sirens screams can cause you to get stuck still like they did in Killing Floor 1, now only 2 Sirens are enough to stun lock you. Sirens also have an EMP effect with their screams.

An interesting change with the Siren now is that she appears a lot skinnier and instead of being bound by leather straps she's confined to some metal contraption.

CONFIRMED:

The Sirens screams will now damage structural intergrity of the buildings walls, floors & ceilings which means camp rooms will be less effective in the later waves if you camp their for too long in earlier waves.

The Siren use have a Electro Magnetic Pulse effect.

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
The Siren spawned at Wave 3 on to the Final Wave in Killing Floor 1 now Sirens spawn on Wave 1.

Scrake:

Overview:
The Scrake is 1 of the 2 elite ZED's from Killing Floor 1, the Scrake is a Chainsaw weilding maniac who wears a pair of blood soaked overalls & a butchers apron, he cackles evily and maniacly as well so you know he really means business. The Scrake is the hardest ZED to deal with on Killing Floor 1 due to his ability to go berserk once he gets below a certain health percentage, when he goes berserker he can run faster than a Berserker and deals massive damage to the target, if you
attempt to flee from him once he's hacking away, the Chainsaw will drag you back into him dealing even more damage & killing you faster.

What's New?:
The Scrake can now run at you a lot earlier & without being low on health, the Scrake also has an AOE attack where he spins around slashing at everyone with his Chainsaw. The Scrake will now randomly charge at players on occasions if he's falling behind. Scrakes don't appear to be able to be stun locked anymore either.

Lieutenant Skittles
Also, just a bit of my input, he seems to be a cross of the mod version and the retail version. His design kind of points to this, being a butcher's apron rather than medical scrubs, but he still keeps his mask. I assume he will be unable to be stunned (like the mod) and will still have his rage (like the retail).

What Wave Will They Spawn?:
Scrakes spawn on Wave 5 or 6 through to the Final Wave as they did in Killing Floor 1 however in Killing Floor 2 Scrakes spawn at around wave 3.

Fleshpound:

Overview:
The Fleshpound is the last of the Elite ZED's from Killing Floor 1 he is also the biggest of the ZED's and the most dangerous ZED.

The Fleshpound uses the massive grinders on his arms to pound players and other ZED's to a pulp if they get caught in his wake, The Fleshpound has the ability to go berserker when they're in view of the Player for more than 10 seconds continuously or when a player deals about 1000 points of damage within a 5 second time limit.

Fleshpounds are big, scary & dangerous but they're really easy to deal with if you're careful & can generally be killed without them causing any damage to the player unlike a Scrake.

This has ALL changed in Killing Floor 2.

What's New?:
The Fleshpound now is not limited to LOS raging and damage raging, Fleshpounds now rage at random intervals & are a huge threat.
You should expect the Fleshpound to now break down walls & doors, etc, etc to get to the destination he is going for especially when enraged.

The FP uses his arms like a shield in the torso.

When Will They Spawn?:
In Killing Floor 1 Fleshpounds spawned around Wave 7 and go through till the final wave. In Killing Floor 2 a Fleshpound can spawn in Wave 3 with the Scrake.

Killing Floor 2 ZED's (New)

In this section i'll be placing each of the new ZED's we've not seen before in Killing Floor & give a rough guess at what we can expect from them by evidence found in the video footage of them for Killing Floor 2.

Cyst:

Overview:
The Cyst is a new ZED for Killing Floor 2, nothing is really known about the Cyst as there's no information about it.

The Cyst appears to be pale in colour with empty eye sockets, i'm not sure about its teeth, from the video it appears to have sharp pointy teeth when the video circles around it but it's pretty hard to see, it also seems to have small but sharp fingernails so perhaps it'll be a melee class. The Cysts appears to have some form of surface skin damage around both of it's wrists like it has either been bound or perhaps it was cut.

Forms of Attacks:
The Cyst is very similar to the Clot, it's slow & not very damaging, it can grapple you but it doesn't hang on very tight.

When do they spawn?:
Cysts spawn on wave 1 with many of the other ZED's as well, so expect to see them nice and early.

I think the Cyst may have an ability of screaming to then bring in more zeds.

A possibility is 5-20 extra zeds depending on difficulty? As well as different zed-tiers.

For example, on beginner, you got 2 zeds left. A cyst pops in, and screams, bringing 5 extra zeds, totalling an amount of 7. these include clots and crawlers.
Another could be on Normal/hard. The cyst would bring more zeds in (10) and these would include more ''powerful'' zeds such as gorefasts and husks.

The Cyst Might be able to make more ZED's spawn from Corpeses or something

i'm thinking with the cyst it might shy away from bright light, like maybe flashlights and pyro's attacks as in the video he does seem to be afraid of the fire and it would also go with him being pale, along with the other stuff that the cyst is speculated to have

I feel like the Cyst will be an enemy that can gain health when dealing damage, it did look weak at the start when it was shown then began chewing away at a corpse and seemed a bit more energetic if you will. So it'll gain a bit of health back when attacking someone but eating corpses increases its power or gives it full health?

Slasher:

Overview:
The Slasher appears to be a merge between a Clot & a Gorefast, it has the looks of a Clot & the sharp claws to go with but it has the speed & aggression of a Gorefast.

The Slasher appears to be a humanoid with some form of spines coming out of it's body, it has long sharp claws and it appears to be very aggressive right from the time it spawns.
Its sharp claws are certain to be a weapon for it's hand and it also has very sharp looking toe nails as well, it has lots of cuts all over it's body so it could possible have more spines that it uses to attack with hidden inside or it's just the character model itself.

Forms of Attacks:
The Slasher is very similar to the Clot, Slashers are faster more aggressive & will dodge your attacks a lot better than Clots do, they also can grab you like a clot & hold you in place even as a Berserker so don't get comfortable.

When do they spawn?:
Slashers spawn on wave 1 with a lot of the other ZED's, these guys are a real pain.

Possible Defensive Tactics or Strengths:

I think that the slasher has an armour in the head, so he could reduce some headshot damage.

Community speculation here would be nice.

SHM
In the video and images where the slasher appears he looks like he's trying to protect itself when advancing, putting his arm ahead of his head. I'm guessing that maybe he's going to be a bit like the brute, almost invulnerable when "protecting" itself, bringing some confusion in the team and, who knows, maybe stunning players a bit, just like the brute. He can be a less powerful version of the brute for all we know

Killing Floor 2 Bosses.

This section is all dedicated to the bosses of Killing Floor 2.
There will be more bosses added in the future but for now there are currently 3 bosses in the making.

Hans Vhalter:

Hans Vhalter is a 100 year old Nazi who's using Horzines horrible experimentations to keep himself alive, in order to do this he's using the technology to feed on his victims life force while draining their life he is renewing his, very dark stuff.

Attack Styles:
Has has a few different attack styles. Each time he attempts to heal he will gain new & more powerful attack moves to use against the players.

Poison Gas:
Has will occasionally launch vials filled with poisonous gas at the player in order to force them out of their hiding spots.

Lunging Melee:
If Hans gets close enough to a player he will lash out at them with his sharp finger tips and slash them up.

Machine Guns:
Hans has dual sub machineguns & will use those if players get out of range of his other attacks.

Jetpack Dash:
If Hans if falling behind the players he will make use of his Jetpack and launch himself at the players in order to gain some momentum on them.

Rejuvination:
When Hans gets low on health he will target players to rejuvinate his health pool. Stay clear if you want to live. While trying to rejuvinate Hans will lunge at a player and grapple them, this will leave the player helpless and it is important that your team does not fire at Hans but instead heals the person being drained, as firing will provoke Hans to drain more health and possibly kill the team member.

After each rejuvination he will lose 1 phase of his life and become stronger, he has a total of 5 phases.

Green: This is Hanses starting phase and his weakest phase. He only has basic attacks and uses his grenades pretty spariningly during this phase.
Yellow: This is Hanses second phase, he's weak here but a little bit stronger, he will run and chase you down a bit more frequently and uses grenades a bit more often.
Orange: This is Hanses third phase, he's starting to get more aggressive at this point, he moves faster, chases you more often and frequently uses grenades.
Red: This is Hanses last phase and at this point he will continually try to get in close and melee you, if he can't do that he will constantly change from bombarding players with gas and explosives to his twin MKB Assault Rifles which are very hard to avoid.
Flashing Red: No different to the last phase at this point Hans is almost dead so keep shooting.

All his phases have pretty much the same attack styles except for a few new ones. More often than not Hans will stick to the primary 4 attacks, running up close to melee, using his twin MKB's and using his 2 grenade types.

Killing Floor 2 Perks. (Returning Perks)

In this section i'm going to place all the Perks that have been Confirmed.

NOTE: All perks now have skills you can work on to unlock different things for them, like faster reloads, more damage, higher bonuses, etc, etc, you have to do specific requirements to unlock these, similar to leveling your perk.

Field Medic:
This is the obvious perk that will travel over from Killing Floor 1. The Field Medics job is to attempt to heal the team and keep them all healthy, especially in the higher & harder waves and difficulties.

Features of the perk:

Faster health regeneration for yourself & others.
Faster syringe regenerations for yourself.
Increased movement speed.
Increased resistance to Bloat Bile.
Kevlar Vests last about 10x longer than other perks & also take all the damage off your health instead of spliting values.
Medic gets reduced prices on Medic weapons & equipment.

Berserker:
The Berserker is a returning perk from Killing Floor 1. The Berserker is the melee expert of the team, resistant to most damage, fast on his feet & a master of sword play.

Features of the perk:
Increased movement speed while holding Melee weaponry.
Increased resistance to damage & Bloat Bile.
Faster melee swinging speeds.
Chain takedowns to chain ZED time.
Discount on Berserker weapons and equipment.

Support Specialist:
The Support Specialist is a returning perk from Killing Floor 1. The Support Specialist is the support for the team, Support Specialists have a larger carry weight & can carry around more weapons & items than any other perk, they're deadily with a Shotgun & can weld doors a lot faster.

Features of the perk:
Increased carry weight
Increased ammo capacity for all Support Weaponry.
Increased damage with Shotguns
Increased welding speed & unwelding speed.
Discount on all Support weapons & perks.

Sharpshooter:
The Sharpshooter is a returning perk from Killing Floor 1 & it's what it says on the box, they're a master of long range combat. The Sharpshooter is a force to be wreckoned with when it comes to using Crossbows & Rifles, they're deadly when they hit a headshot & can normally stun harder to kill enemies.

Features of the perk:
Increased damage with Sharpshooter weaponry.
Increased headshot damage with all weapons.
Increased reload speed with Sharpshooter weaponry.
Discounts on all Sharpshooter weapons & equipment.

Firebug:
The Firebug is a returning perk from Killing Floor 1, The Firebug is a pyromaniac, and likes to dark roast their targets using anything that can create a fire. Deadly with a Flamethrower or anything that consists of fire, the Firebug is also highly resistant to fire themselves making them excellent at surviving a Husk attack.

Features of the perk:
Increased damage with fire weaponry.
Increased burn time with fire weaponry.
Increased resistance to fire.
Increased Magazine size for all Firebug weapons.
Discount on all Firebug weapons & equipment.

Demolitions Expert:
The Demolitions Expert is a returning perk from Killing Floor 1, the Demolitions Expert is a master of explosives. The Demoman can carry extra explosives & deals a great deal more damage to enemies with anything that goes boom, the Demoman is also fairly resistant to the explosives so you can take a bit more damage before dying.

Features of the perk:
Increased damage with Explosive weapons.
Increased resistance to explosive damage.
Increased ammo capacity for explosive ammunition & grenades.
Discount on all Demolitions weapons & equipment.

Commando
The Commando is the eyes of the team, the Commando is the one that knows everything about a ZED, Commandos can see the health of the enemies, they can see invisible enemies from a distance & they're deadly with their favourite Assault Rifles.

Features of the perk:
Increased damage with all Assault Rifles.
Increased magazine size for all Commando weapons & equipment.
Can see a cloaked enemy at a distance.
Can see health of enemies from a distance.
Increased reload speed for all weapons.
Chain takedowns for increased ZED Time.
Discount on all Commando weapons & equipment.

Perk Specifics:
Each perk now has a max level cap of 25.
All classes will start with a tier 1 firearm or weapon tailored to their class.
Beginning waves are more relentless now which is where the Tier 1 weapon comes into play.

Killing Floor 2 Perks. (New Perks)

In this section i'm going to place all the new perks that we will see in Killing Floor 2.

Gunslinger:
This perk is actually a perk you could use in Killing Floor 1 with the help of a mod, this class consists of using Pistols, specifically Dual Pistols.

Features of the Perk:

Increased fire speed with all Pistols.
Increased damage with all Pistols.
Increased reload with all Pistols.
Full-Automatic with any Dual Pistols
Increased ammo capacity with all Pistols.
Increased magazine capacity for all Pistols.

Perk Specifics:
Each perk now has a max level cap of 25.
All classes will start with a tier 1 firearm or weapon tailored to their class.

Early Access Section.

So in this section i'm going to go over a few things which i saw in the time i had in Alpha.

Really just facts & things which will no doubt change in the next 2 days upon release.

Character Customization.
Each character had the ability to be customized to your liking, you could choose different camoflage, head gear & hair styles.
Difficulty levels & spikes.
In Killing Floor 2 forget everything you knew about the difficulty from Killing Floor 1, even a seasoned survivor like myself and many others on KF1 Hell on Earth had trouble with Killing Floor 2. Time to work on new stratergies guys....

NOTE: This is all taken from the Killing Floor 1 Wiki. Not much seems to have changed from here. Also this is scaling, keep in mind that scaling means that everything is messured in percentages, 100% being the standard set from everything.

Example: A players health at 100% would be 100, an enemy deals 125% damage to that player they might take about 25 health.

Normal: In the base difficulty of this game i managed to get my ass handed to me several times, enemies are smarter & harder to hit now.
Health is base level at 100% & scales about x1 each player, they only require a little damage to kill.
Enemies move fairly slowly.
Swarms are few and far between but are still dangerous. (Don't get caught)
Enemies dodge your attacks in very limited circumstances.
Enemies deal 100% damage this is minor & are forgiving on slip ups. (There's room for mistakes & learning the game)
Enemies grapple you but you can easily escape from their clutches without taking too much damage or consecutive grapples.
Bosses are easier to kill but are still very dangerous & require a lot of timing & planning.
Base enemies per wave at 100%.

Hard: Hard is the next step up from Normal, it's not very different to Normal, gameplay is still fairly much the same except a few minor changes.
Health is 35% larger than average & each player scales them again about 1% more health.
Enemies have a minor speed increase, some enemies will now lunge at a player.
Swarms are more common but are not very common, just don't get caught in a corner.
Enemies dodge your attacks more often, still easy to hit.
Enemies deal 25% more damage than usual. Totalling to 125% more damage per hit.
Enemies grapple you the same as base except now the escaping isn't quite as easy & you may get caught again or take a bit more damage than usual.
Bosses require a more thought out stratergy and knowledge of their habbits and abilities. (Still not easy but certainly not impossible).
More enemies will appear in the game at %130 more enemies per wave.

Suicidal: Suicidal the big step up from Hard & the noticable step down from the next level up. Suicidal gives you very little to work on but allows you to make 1 or 2 mistakes while receiving very harsh punishments from making those mistakes.

Unrelated Killing Floor 2 Information.

While scowering the internet i came across some articles that have information on what we can expect from Killing Floor 2.

What this goes on about is a lot of things to do with Killing Floor 2, like the new gore systems some of the enemies and weapons & even some of the perks.

1 part in particular pops out at me which says:

"Another very welcome improvement is that each class starts the game off with a weapon loadout fit for their abilities (Support class starts with a shotgun). This gives Tripwire room to make the initial wave of baddies — a “gimme” in the first game — more intense, since players start the game off with a more powerful weapon."

This hints to me that all classes are going to start off with a weapon even on lower level'd perks, which sounds to me like each level is going to give you more higher tier'd weapons, if that's the case then we can expect over 200 different weapons i feel because of 10 new perks each with 25 levels.

New information for you buddy, if you've not seen it already, crawlers will use the walls and ceilings, it's been confirmed. Also new skills have been confirmed, tactical reload (no idea what perk) and backpack for Support, more ammunition for the team. New video in the KF2 forums on Steam.

You've forgot to add Husk's flamethrower it seems, also how Hans gets set back one "Phase" when he steals someone's life force using his drain attack.

A new update for you all, i've been really busy of the passed few months. Sorry for the little updates but right now with the game being released, it's safe to say we all know about the content and how the game plays, so from now on i'll just keep posting updates for you all of anything i find worth mentioning.

Some things I found that you might be able to add, when the Husk is low on health he will run at you and when he is close enough he will aim his gun at the ground, killing himself and attempting to take you with him. This attack does a lot of damage, even on Normal. Hans seems to have a flamethrower attack on higher difficulties, though I haven't witnessed it myself, his audio files have quotes based around burning people.

Release date has been placed in the What's New section! 21st of April.

I think this page will become obsolete after it is released but i will continue to update until the game is fully released and we're all aware of what content is avalible. I'll start doing actual guides after the release date aswell so you can all keep an eye on that too.

I will port over all relevant information to the Killing Floor 2 guide section and remove the speculation from the guide as we're all pretty well aware of what to expect at this point.
