Wastelands

Description
Wastelands is a global graphical overhaul modification that completely changes the visual design and performance of the game.

-------------------------------------------
Version: 1.5 experimental

-------------------------------------------
Description
This is a high-performance graphical modification with its own visual concept of the world. This modification does not improve the quality of textures, but improves the quality of visual perception of the world. This mod is more suitable for exploratory gameplay, when you are constantly traveling through different biomes, than for gameplay based on micromanagement of a single selected area. Many elements that filled the world of the original game have been removed to improve performance and synergy with the mod's visual concept. And if you feel that the world has become too empty, this mod is probably not for you.

-------------------------------------------
Wastelands [Native Color Edition] is an alternative version of this mod, adapted to the original colors.

-------------------------------------------
Main features:
- completely redesigned biomes;
- modified lighting;
- overhauled foliage layers;
- reworked weather and effects;
- ...

-------------------------------------------
Recommended video settings:
Shadow Mode: 0
Grass Density: 1
Grass Range: 1
Foliage Range: 4

-------------------------------------------
Installation fog features:
- go to your "\Kenshi\data\newland\land" folder;
- make a backup copy of the "fogfeatures.dat" file;
- go to your "\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\233860\3089253212\[fogfeatures]" folder;
- copy the "fogfeatures.dat" file to your "\Kenshi\data\newland\land" folder.

this is a necessary file for better visual synergy..

-------------------------------------------
Add-on:
Wastelands add-on this is an addition to the main mod, which will include some small changes..

currently includes:
- darker nights;
- animation "run upper stealth" changed to "run upper";

you can find it here:

My mistake about the dialogue! I examined both this mod and Settled Nomads Expanded in FCS and SNE adds additional dialogue to nomad shopkeepers

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this mod seems to change a lot more than is documented, like dialogue and UI? Unfortunate, the new biomes are very pretty

such a GOATed mod, the performance increase is great and the views? The views are stunning!! Feels like I'm playing a different game

Makes everything so much easier to see. Not to mention it doubled my FPS. You're a saint.

Mod compatibility is like an inverted layer cake (mods that are lower in the load order have priority). Each subsequent layer overwrites the previous one. If several mods modify the same original file, the only version of that file that will be active is the one from the mod that is last in the load order.

For example, if a mod contains several files whose changes are interconnected, and a subsequent mod overwrites only one of them, that mod can break.

I found I can override the gui without removing specific files. great mod. very well made.

no .. but you can remove the UI yourself by deleting the "gui" folder from the mod

you can find this folder here:

is there a version of this mod thats got the gui features stripped out? I like the changes in world, but there are other Ui replacers that I'd prefer to use.

There used to be Genesis related crashes, I fixed them. No other conflicts have been reported. (*restored comment)
