The text part

Based on where upgrades are positioned on the inventory page of a star-ship, exo-suit, or multi-tool, additional bonuses may be awarded.

Every technology in the game belongs to a hard-coded "family". When technologies of the same "family" are placed adjacent to one another, the technologies will gain a coloured border around them to indicate that it is benefiting from the adjacency bonus.

The adjacency bonus is calculated for every side of every technology, and added to total, before the tool/ship's class bonus is calculated. It is calculated by multiplying:

The hidden "bonus power" stat of the technology in possession of the side
The hidden "bonus multiplier" stat of the technology the side is facing towards.

What this basically means is that you should place as many of the same family next to each other in a box shape, making sure your best one in the family has the most others touching it. Some may benefit from a + shape, but it's not worth the disruption to your layout.

Please note that patch 4.05 adds a new concept to this; making some of the best layouts below need to be adjusted slightly to your personal situation. Some tech slots will now be 'supercharged', providing a strong boost to whatever module is in that specific slot. In Ships, Tools & Freighters, these slots are randomised. Change the layouts below slightly to place your best modules in these slots, for the best results. In Suit & Exocraft, the slots are in the same places for everyone; so use my exact layouts for best effect.

SUPERCHARGED SLOT OPTIMISATION:

ON SHIPS:
WEAPONS & HYPERDRIVE: Weapon itself on the supercharged slot.
PULSE DRIVE: Best upgrade on the slot.

ON TOOLS:
WEAPONS: Weapon itself on the supercharged slot.

EVERYTHING ELSE: Best upgrade on the slot.

When will you update the exocraft layouts for the remnant update?

Just wanted to say СПАСИБО! (THANK YOU!) for all your work.

Goomie. For hazard protection, boosting the c-class tech upgrades actually achieves more than boosting even the best upgrade modules. The layout is the result of extensive testing by a very large team. This was what produced the best results regardless of how good or bad the upgrade modules were. A full box will always produce more adjacency bonus and therefore better results, than an L.
Rocket boots shouldn't be breaking the jump+melee thing. I use that regularly with no issue & have rocket boots attached. It hasn't made any difference to that for me or any of my team. It's mostly in there for the adjacency boost.

Great work, thank you so much! Sorry, but I really don't understand why you're using rocket boots on your build. It's a horrible mod and it fixes the jump + melee attack + boost bug, which is way more powerful than any other mod or combination. Could you also explain why you don't use a "Tetris" triangle for the environmental mods, so that one of them can have three adjacent mods? Thanks a lot for your work and sorry if my questions are stupids. Much Love.

As is already written on https://www.nomansskyresources.com/multi-tool-blueprints/plasma-resonator :
Has been accidentally removed from the Tech Tree when the Ricochet Modules were added.
It is still unlockable as a random reward from going to Manufacturing Facilities & Operations Centres; as well as coming pre-installed on many tools from cabinets & given by NPCs. Still very much in-game.

Tristis Oris Plamsa Resonator has not been removed & your "A" indium generator must be an procedurally generated upgrade module name. It's not an existing tech or tech upgrade.
