Hello, guys!
In this guide i want to gather all information about the legendary items in Risen 3 - location, effects, way to obtain, etc...
First of all, the best and fastest way to obtain an item is "parrot" form. When use it, nobody attacks you, so you can travel wherever you want with high speed and without any problems.
Second, i want to say some words about the structure of this guide. There are several categories in each chapter:
Effect - it describes what effect will give you the legendary item;
Difficulty for the book - it describes how much trouble you get:) when try to receive the book. There are four categories: easy, medium, hard and extremely hard. Remember, to obtain most of the items, you don't need to read the books. "Easy" means, that you need to come to the right place and get the item, only weak monsters like Sand Devils or Scavengers can prevent you. "Medium" means, that you need to complete easy quest (drunken duel, daggers duel, etc...) or fight with average monsters. "Hard" means, that you need to fight skilled monsters like Dragon Snappers and Dark creatures of any kind, or complete some annoying quests. "Extremely hard" means, that you need to fight with a lot of Dark creatures or skilled monsters and to have a high-end gear to obtain the item. Also, it could mean, that you need to complete some real annoying quests with a lot of exploring
Difficulty for the item - it describes how much trouble you get when try to receive the item. There are four categories: easy, medium, hard and extremely hard.
Is the book needed to reach the item? - some items required to read books before you can obtain them. When you see the answer "No", it means, that you can come to the right place and get the item even if you don't have quest for it. When you see the answer "Yes", it means, that you MUST read the book first, receive quest marker and only after that go for an item.
Special comments - there are some items, which can be only obtained after the third chapter, or have some specific requirements. Here i'll give you the full report about it.

FOG ISLAND

Freddie's Shackles

Effect:

+10% to glory points

Location of the book:

Go to the Fog island, you need the inquisition base, which located near your arrival point. Sneak into the room behind Carlos and read the book "Spectacular jailbreaks".

Quest "Freddie's Shackles" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Move to the quest marker, desired item located near shipwrecks in the South-Western part of the Fog Island.
Find a ruined hut.

Come in and receive Freddie's Shackles.

CRAB COAST

Hardened Crab Shell

Effect:

+10 to Bulletproof attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Medium

Difficulty for the item:

Easy

Location of the book:

Go to the Calador, you need the mine, which located north from the tavern in the center of the island.

There are some Skeletons in there, get down to the bottom of the cave and read the book "Encyclopaedia on Alchemy".

Quest "The Hardened Crab Shell" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Crab Coast and swim to the small round island in the east.
There are several Sand Devils there, move to the pass to the center of the island.

Continue climb to the summit through 3 Scavengers and in the end of the road you'll see a little camp with the chest in it. Open it and receive The Hardened Crab Shell.

CALADOR

Booze for Aiming

Effect:

+10 to Critical Hit attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Hard

Difficulty for the item:

Location of the book:

Go to the Tacarigua, you need the cave, which located southeast of the Skull Cave across a suspension bridge.
There are Ghouls, Goblins, Hellhounds and many other pretty stuff:) Move to the end of the cave and read the book "Battles of the Last Century".

Quest "The Booze for Aiming" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador to the Demon Hunter's Citadel.
Enter it and turn to the right, where you can see the stairway leading to the upper floor. legendary item is located on a shelf in a small room where stairway begins.

Blunt Ritual Knife

Effect:

+10 Daggers attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Hard

Difficulty for the item:

Medium

You must win an arm-wrestling match.

Location of the book:

Go to the Antigua and move to the marker, there are a lot of dark creatures on the road.
Read the book "Traditional Cultism".

Quest "The Blunt Ritual Knife" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador to the Demon Hunter's Citadel.
Wait till the evening and after that ask Henrik, who stand in main hall, to have an arm-wrestling match with you. Win it and receive the item.

Tuning Fork

Effect:

+5 to Spirit attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Location of the book:

Go to the Antigua and move to the Emma's house.

Move to the second floor of the house into the bedroom and read the book "Ritual Practices".

Quest "The Tuning Fork" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador to the cemetery.
The Tuning Fork is located behind the most northern gravestone.

Broken Lock Pick

Effect:

+10 Lock Picking attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Location of the book:

Go to the Kila and move to the marker. You can reach that hill two ways: simply use the "parrot" spell or travel around as i show on the map.
Move to the small flat rock with a warthog nearby and read the book "Legends of Calador".

Quest "The Broken Lock Pick" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

This legendary item is located inside a hut in the mountains.
Go inside and pick up the Broken Lock Pick.

Intractable Liana

Effect:

+10 Slashing Weapons attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Hard

Location of the book:

Go to the Kila and move to the pirate's wrecked ship.
In the upper rear part of Cunningham's cabin (upstairs) there is a book "The Early Expeditions".

Quest "The Intractable Liana" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador and move to the marker.
There are a lot of Golems and even the evil mage:) so be careful. Intractable Liana simply lie on the shore.

Diamond Grinder

Effect:

+10 Piercing Weapons attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

You must complete Blacksmith Wilson quest.

Location of the book:

Go to the Kila and move to the eastern hut In the northern part of the pirate's nest.
Read the book "Blacksmithing".

Quest "The Diamond Grinder" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador, move to Blacksmith Wilson and take the quest "The Engagement Ring".

Now, go to the Antigua and give the ring to Grace. She will be happy :)

Go back to Blacksmith Wilson and receive the Diamond Grinder.

Ornamental Belt

Effect:

+5 Toughness attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Hard

Location of the book:

Go to the Taranis and move to the cave, which located in far east of the island.

On the crossroad turn left.

In the next room there is a broken cart with the book "Faded Diary", read it.

Quest "The Ornamental Belt" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador to the marker in the old fortress.

Dig the grave.

Open the chest and receive The Ornamental Belt.

Crankshaft

Effect:

+10 Crossbows attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Extremely Hard

Special comments:

Area with the item become available only in the 3 act.

Location of the book:

Go to the Taranis and move to the forge in the mage camp.
On the first floor there is a book "Common Weapons", read it.

Quest "The Crankshaft" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Calador and move to the marker. This area become available only in the 3 act and there are tons of monsters, so be prepared.
Item is located on the first floor of the lighthouse.

TARANIS

Blood-Soaked Cloth

Effect:

+10 Resist Magic attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Hard

Location of the book:

Go to the Taranis and move to the cave on a small island south of the pier.
On the table near the entrance there is a book "Brittle Diary", read it.

Quest "The Blood-Soaked Cloth" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Simply move to the end of the cave and find The Blood-Soaked Cloth lying on the ground.

Blue Quill

Effect:

+10 Silver Tongue attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Medium

Difficulty for the item:

Medium

Location of the book:

Go to the Tacarigua and move to the small camp southeast of Puerto Sacarico.
There is a book "Womanisers", read it.

Quest "The Blue Quill" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Taranis, The Blue Quill is located in the open box on the eastern beach (see the marker on your map).

Small Gripping Pliers

Effect:

+10 Pickpocketing attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Medium

Special comments:

You must win alcohol duel to obtain the item.

Location of the book:

Go to the Antigua and move to the second floor of the eastern building in the town.

There is a book "Thievery II", read it.

Quest "The Small Gripping Pliers" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Taranis, wait till night comes and move to the back room of the tavern in the Mage Camp.
There you find Gordon, standing with a bottle and ready for a alcohol duel. Win it and receive the item.

Sun Crystal

Effect:

+10 Crystal Magic attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Easy

Area with the item become available only in the 3 act.

Location of the book:

Go to the Calador and move to the room in the Citadel of the Demon Hunters, where dealer Connor stands.
Read the book "The Power of Crystals".

Quest "The Sun Crystal" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Taranis and move to the main mage tower across the bridge (you must turn on the mage reactor to open this area).
In the hall turn right and you see the stairway leading to the high floors.

Climb up on the last floor where you see the chest.

Open it and receive The Sun Crystal.

Small Stone Tablet

Effect:

+10 Rune Magic attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Extremely Hard

Is the book needed to reach the item?

Special comments:

You must complete "The Gourmet" quest to obtain the item. Area with the item become available only in the 3 act.

Location of the book:

Go to the Kila and move to the Natives camp.
From the enter turn left and you'll see the book "A Traveller's Diary", read it.

Quest "The Small Stone Tablet" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Taranis, move to the mage tower and speak with Lumbrok. He gives you quest "The Gourmet"

Now the real pain begins :)
Delicious Ham is located in Calador inside Bran house in the chest. Use sneak or parrot spell.

Dainty Mussels are located in the chest on the second floor of the tavern in Antigua. You need sneaking skill or parrot spell to obtain it.

Aromatic Wine is located in Kila inside the closed chest near the entrance to the pirates wrecked ship. You need 20 lockpicking skill to open it.

Exquisite Cheese is located in Taranis in the main mage tower on the last floor in the chest (area opens in 3 chapter).
In the hall turn right and you see the stairway leading to the high floors.

Climb up on the last floor where you see the chest.

After you gather all the ingredients, return to Lumbrok, complete quest and receive The Small Stone Tablet.

KILA

Old Bow

Effect:

+10 Muskets attribute

Go to the Calador and move to the Demon Hunter fortress, the book "Old Stories" lie on the table in the room of Smith Wilson.

Quest "The Old Bow" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Kila and move to the eastern entrance in the cave with a lot of spiders.
Go inside and take The Old Bow, there are no any crossroads there.

Ancient Pestle

Effect:

+5 Alchemy attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Medium

Difficulty for the item:

Medium

Location of the book:

Go to the Antigua and move to the warehouse, there are two ways to obtain the book: if it's your first time on Antigua or you didn't complete quest "Chaos in the harbor town" - only way to reach the book is to use parrot skill. If Antigua had already built up, simple enter inside warehouse from "sea" side and go to the second floor by the stairway. Read the book "The Art of Alchemy," which is on a crate. And remember that stairway, where Ramon stands, is leading to the third floor not the second.

Quest "The Ancient Pestle" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Kila, Ancient Pestle lie on the eastern beach near the entrance to the spider cave, guarded by Gorilla.

Tirimia’s Monocle

Effect:

+10 Astral vision attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Medium

Special comments:

You must win a knife match

Location of the book:

Go to the Calador and move to the Ernesto's hut below the Windmill in the center of the island.

Come in and read the book "Stories from Antigua", which is on a table.

Quest "The Tirimia’s Monocle" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Kila, wait till midday and speak with Buddy, who throws knives near pirate's wrecked ship, about knife duel. Win it and receive the item.

Pirate Flag

Effect:

+10 Intimidate attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Hard

Is the book needed to reach the item?

Yes

Special comments:

Area with the item become available only in the 3 act.

Location of the book:

Go to the Calador and move to the Fishermans village. You need the last house on the hill (most eastern on the map).

Read the book "Modern Pirates".

Quest "The Pirate Flag" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Kila and move to the large gates which leads to the Forbidden Valley. Speak with the Baraka and he let you in, but only after the third chapter, remember it.

Continue to the quest marker, there are a lot of spiders in the forest.
When you get to the grave, dig it, open the chest and receive The Pirate Flag.

Glass Eye

Effect:

+5 Ranged attribute

Difficulty for the book:

Easy

Difficulty for the item:

Extremely hard

Special comments:

Area with the item become available only in the 3 act. You must defeat Margoloth.

Location of the book:

Go to the Antigua and move to the second floor of the tavern, there is a book "Rotting Diary" lying on a table. To read it unnoticed, use sneak or parrot form.

Quest "The Glass Eye" now appeared in your logbook.

Location of the Legendary item:

Go to the Killa and move to the temple in the Forbidden forest. Baraka allows you to pass only in the third chapter. Continue to the quest marker and enter the temple. Don't even think about trying to get that legendary item without skilled hero and good weapon.
After defeating Margoloth, move to the left pass.

Then turn left.

And to the right immediately.

Follow the pass and on the crossroad turn right and climb up the hill.

You'll see a Golem, who guards a chest with the item. Open it and receive The Glass Eye.

ANTIGUA

Glass Sword

Effect:

+5 Melee attribute

Go to the Kila and move to the pirates wrecked ship, enter it and turn left, there is a closed door and a small room with the book "Secrets", read it.

Go to the Antigua, The Glass Sword lie on the southern beach near the town (see the marker on your map).

TACARIGUA

2) Damaged Cuirass also in Antigua but need to dig up, To start you have to find a book in Tacarigua its in the dead part of the map along the coast should be a dead soldier and 2 or 3 graves with it.

where the hell is item for +10 sword bonus? i found it before but i am replaying now and can't remember where i get that thing.

Perhaps I failed to notice them, as I was already mid-level by the time I got there, so I was cleaving through most enemies fairly effectively. I just remember the rats in the cave as they were quest-related.

There are several Dragon Snappers near the entrance to the cave and there is no way to avoid them, only use parrot form. I think that they are really tough one enemes, so i marked it as "hard". But you are right, i should add more info about diff levels.

I am wondering how you classify things as 'easy', 'medium', or 'hard' to get. The Blood-soaked Cloth for example, you rate as hard... but I only remember some low rank enemies on the way to the island and rats in the cave. Unless I'm missing something, the only hard part is knowing where to look, as the book and cloth are in the same location.

Demon Hunters have an advantage in finding it, as they have to go to the island and can clear out the cave for a quest giver during their promotion quest searching for the books of evil. The rats I cleared out of the cave were related to that quest. Do other enemies exist if the quest is not active?
