This guide will briefly explain how to get your .exec files to be recognized by the console in Counter Strike 2.

File Location
If you just downloaded CS2 Beta and went to the console to get your config file loaded in you may have noticed the console simply returns an error and doesn't work. To fix this problem you just have to put your .exec file into another file location. All I did is copy and paste the file in and it works flawlessly.

The file location you need to drop the .exec is here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg

Obviously if you have stuff saved a little different than I do just find the CSGO file location and follow this path:

Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg

General Notes
I haven't done a lot of research but here are a few things I found that do and don't work in CS2 as far as console commands.
  • Your quickswitch bind will still work
  • If you have a bind to make your crosshair infite length for nade lineups, it will still work
  • Jumpbinds no longer work
*Edit: I found some commands online that will make a jumpbind that works for CS2:

    alias "+jumpaction" "+jump;"
    alias "+throwaction" "-attack; -attack2"
    alias "-jumpaction" "-jump"
    bind c "+jumpaction;+throwaction;"

You should be able to copy/paste this directly into your CS2 config and it should work. Just replace "c" with the key you want your jumpthrow to be bound to.
  • Remove decals no longer works
  • I couldn't get godmode to work in practice servers
Again, I haven't done a lot of research into the console commands for CS2 so if I have something incorrect here please let me know in the comments and I will fix it.

Would really appreciate some likes on this guide as it really helps with publicity.
Have fun and if their are any questions feel free to ask in the comments!
