Rough Guide Rundowns and Tips

Tips & Quick rundowns of part's of the game I found confusing or felt lost. I added some of the achievements I felt confused about.

What to expected

Life after death has 14 achievements, including a afk achievement where you afk for 30 mins in any level as long it's not the game menu but you need to finish that level.

I'm not very experienced in writing guides but if you're reading this it probably means you are stuck in the game and it's not on the list i'll happily add it to the list.

Please note Im a broke college student and I do work so I write on my free time and this might take a awhile.

Quick description of the same without spoilers: Jesse finds himself in a familiar place but not knowing why he is here. Can he unravel the past to remember the events that have brought to this moment.

Controls if you forget

Mouse Left- Use item / Pick up item

CTRL - Crouch

Mouse Wheel - Zoom In

F- Lighter / Flashlight

W- Forward

S- Back

A- Left

D- Right

Shift- Speed

If you are trying to use medical equipment in later levels, you are unable to use it till you lose health.

The Achievement's

The game has begun - Start the game

Adulthood- Blow out the candles (chapter 2)

Waiting for a miracle - Afk for 30 mins in a level then finish the level

Let there be Light - Turn on all the light switches and lamps (chapter 4) Wait till you open the basement door if you want to unlock it in chapter 3

Coffee Lover - Make and drink coffee (Chapter 2)

Culinary- Reheat Pizza (Chapter 2)

Glutton - Eat Pasta ( Chapter 2)

Diligent Son - Complete all sticker tasks (Chapter 2)

Skeleton in the closet (Chapter 3 Bedroom)

Great Doctor- Enable the Defibrillator (Chapter 5)

Welcome to Paradise - Good Ending (Chapter 5)

Welcome to Hell - Bad Ending (Chapter 5)

Healthy as a Bull- Drink antibiotics (Chapter 4)

Nightmare- Sleep on the bed or Sofa (Chapter 4)

Level 1

Hello Filled with Spoilers Ahead.

Waking up in the room I call the Pasta closet due to the pasta on the floor.

Opening the dresser and in one of the many drawers should have a piece of clothing you can remove and find a screwdriver. Keep in mind this dresser will typically have new notes on it every level so keep checking it out.

If Stuck
Take the screwdriver and use it on the door.

Welcome to the weird layout of this place.
To the Left is the hallway One towards the basement and currently locked room.
To the Right is a hallway Two towards the bathroom(Left) and living room (Right).

Please check out the house and explore.

If you are stuck
On the way to the Living Room is a little closet with a very important dresser, Check it out the top drawer is stuck currently.

The living room itself will typically have a note on the coffee table.

Head back to the pasta closet and head into the basement, down the stairs and on a workbench has a crowbar. Grab it and head back to the hallway with the stuck drawer.

Congrats a Flashlight you're best friend
Head towards the basement and look around.

If you are stuck
There should be a shelf with a Red Valve on it and grab it, Go to the other side of the room and grab a wooden slab. Put the wooden slab on a barrel, It's going to roll and you are going to walk on top of it and throw the valve on the pipe.

You are now free to go through the door and start chapter 2.

Birthdays (Candles) Chapter 2

In this chapter we have a couple easily missed achievements. We start this level hunting candles we are looking for 5.

We wake in the pasta closet, check the dresser for battery. Once you find your way out of the closet I recommend going through the house and turn on all the light's you can. The Goal of this level is to find all the birthday candles throughout the house. You will notice the room in hallway 1 is locked but allows you to see a way inside by breaking a chain so that is a goal as well. If you are unable to figure out the way to breaking the chain I will write the spoiler.

The basement holds the tool you are seeking, head into the basement and find a ladder it will be located on the right side coming down. Now heads towards the left and where you find the valve in Level 1 is now a spot for a ladder. Climb up the ladder and grab the hack saw.

If you give up hunting here's the locations

The pasta closet should have one in the dresser
The bathroom should have one by the toilet
The closet between the living room & bathroom it should have one in the drawer
Living room, Coffee table
The Birthday Room near the coffee maker

Once you find all the candles head to hallway 1 and go to the mystery door you can now open. This area holds 4 achievement's easily missed.
1. Glutton
2. Coffee Lover
3. Culinary
4. Diligent Son
If you are stuck on getting one of these achievements but wish to not be spoiled on the others I will have each of them numbered

Glutton is by eating pasta in the mystery room Should be located by the sink.

Coffee Lover we know is about making a pot of coffee and drinking it, click the red button then the black button next the coffee pot. We click the coffee mug it should unlock.

Culinary we reheat the pizza, Grab the pizza from the fridge and open the oven. The next step is to throw the pizza in the oven. Next to turn on the oven click the button far left on the oven knobs (It should turn red), then the first knob on the right of the oven. (You may need to close the oven door first or after to have the achievement trigger.)

Diligent Son do all the sticky notes instructions, they are located on the fridge and it should have the following
Pick up the trash, It should be 4 items total for the trash. 2 take out boxes, 1 glass bottle of beer and 1 can of beer. The beer's should be located on the floor.

The first item is the beer can in front of the oven on the floor, Second and third are the take out boxes on the kitchen island in front of the birthday cake. The glass beer bottle is between the back of the couch and the kitchen island also its on the floor.

This is what it looks like in the trash.

Eat the pasta which you should have done anyway & Lastly reheat the pizza and brew up some coffee

Check the drawers near the stove for matches to light the birthday candles. Once you light up the candles and blow them out. Check out the note and grab the key.

If you aren't sure what to do next
Check the basement and on the left in the second set of shelves you will see a locked box on the wall. Unlock it

Congrats on finding the tool, I would look around the house to see where you can use it.

In front of the pasta closet the flooring looks like it can be ripped up

You found one of the last items of this level look around and see where you can put it
The pasta Closet

Welcome back everyone fav spot the pasta closet you should see a note at the door read it and head to the dresser then back to the door. Magically the door can now be opened. Check out where to go by the note.

Light's (chapter 3) "Bike"

This level can be selected in the level section by clicking the bike.

This level has some difficulty for players. If you keep failing to complete the level I can say a simple solution. Do not turn on any lights Edit for clarification I would avoid turning on the lights right away I would check out the washroom first before trying to do turn on the lights and finally turn on the lights in the child room before all others

If you are looking for the achievement of level 3
[/spoiler] In the level once you are able to get into the bedroom check the wardrobe for the skeleton in the closet. [/spoiler]

If you are stuck with finding mission objectives
Light bulb 1 the dresser close to the living room, Light bulb 2 pasta closet

There are a couple packages of Antibiotics throughout this level however I wasn't able to use them till level 4.

So keep those notes in mind when playing the level.
Welcome to starting in the living room, check the notes & the battery on the coffee table.
Once you are ready start to head down the hallway but check out the dresser Light bulb 1 before heading to the washroom or whatever you plan on going.

The pasta closet has another note if you care to read it
The basement door has 3 locks on it
The mystery room has turned into a young child room look around for the notes and see what they want.

If stuck

The Desk Note
Asking to change the light bulbs the first light you can change is on the desk itself and the second light is very close to the pasta closet door on a little table in the corner.

The Dresser Note
Asking to drink the vitamins which you can find in the washroom wall storage

The Storage Note By the Bedroom Door
Put things away note is asking for you to go into the Pasta closet and grab the laundry basket and bring it to the Bedroom closet and put it in the shelf basket. Check the Storage by the bedroom door again.

Give a good look through the room and closet when you finish the task you're ready to unlock the basement door. Once you have the three keys click on the locks it doesn't seem to matter what order of locks you choose.

Down into the basement isn't much to see but a brick wall instead of a doorway. You gotta break it down. If you can't figure out how The bedroom closet has a tub of tools which has a hammer you can take with you

Down the stairs check the table and grab the memory fragment. Once you got it head back to the main level.

Oh no the basement door is re locked from the outside well go farther down in the basement where you found the memory fragment and go through the new door. Welcome back to the Pasta closet.
Fragment memory on the board and you are starting the next level.

Dolls (Chapter 4)

Welcome to the Pasta closet Red light edition you can select this level by clicking on the dolls.

*This is the level for the nightmare achievement if you are looking to complete it

As always check the dresser for batteries but this time no note.
Feel free to walk a little bit and try to turn on the lights but check out the phone when it starts ringing.

Head towards the basement for the first puzzle.
Welcome to the hallway of paintings so all three doors are trapping you in but its an easy fix if you want to try first. Check the note on the floor of one of the doors.

Fix the photos of the woman I believe 3 of them. See the little floating bookshelf a green book fell down and a key that should be on the shelf where the book once was.

Unlock the door you are free. Head towards the living room and turn on all the lights you want.

DO NOT GO BACK DOWN THE HALLWAY till you read what going to happen.

Something important going to happen. Basically you will need to run into the basement if you are wanting a achievement get hurt once because you can heal in the basement There is a medic item on the worktable by the stairs.

Welcome to the basement go farther down the stairs through the doors and welcome to the living room. Check the note on the coffee table. Turn on whatever lights you wish and head towards the bathroom.

Keep in mind whats new in the bathroom.
Head towards the pasta closet when you are ready and keep turning on lights if you wish. There should be a note in the pasta closet on the dresser.

Head towards the basement when ready but take a moment to check out the special room.

Welcome to what I call the pink room or the light red room.
Keep in mind the lights in the room including the desk. You can close the window if you want i didn't notice it doing anything. Head towards the bed.

Now you understand why I call it the doll level and the job of the day is to dress the doll up. Don't forget the lamp on the dresser. If you are unable to find whats missing for the door it will be down below
The closet has a wardrobe on the right hand side has a doll dress

The bathtub has a Doll Eye but you have to empty the tub first

The bathroom sink has another Doll Eye but once again you have to clear it first

There is a closet in this room which has a light switch near the door outside of the closet.
Go inside the closet check it out. When you are ready check out the basement.

The basement is a mess again so take a good look around and if you are stuck
The second shelf area of the basement has a sink sticking out with an orange bucket. Grab the left faucet handle

When you are ready head upstairs and check out the Pasta closet. Another Faucet Handle Keep playing with the lights if you want but head to the bathroom. Once you are done with your business I would check all the lights around the house and head back to the pink room.

At this point you should be able to get the doll all dressed up and get a memory fragment from her.
Put the memory on the board of the pasta closet, head into the basement and welcome to the next level.

Medical Wing (Level 5)

it's a short level with 2 achievements.

Welcome to the final level. Check out the small room and play with the tube tv.
Once you are ready this is a T shaped level. You will want to go Left but explore a bit first if you like.
Near the end of the hallway left on the left side is a room you can enter. Look around.
You should find keys

Explore outside the room you should find your next room but I would stop for a second. This is a pathway for two game endings which both have an achievement. If it doesn't matter to you then you can skip this part.

One achievement is failing a timer to help the man on the table which I would do first so you can explore this room deeply so for the second achievement where you save the man on the table easier.

Once you are ready to enter the room you will see the man heart is failing. Do what you can to save him and try to beat the timer. If you want the spoiler how it is below. If no spoiler then there is a board with sticky notes with tips / instructions.

Turn on the lights and slightly move as lights will turn off and you have to turn them on again.
Close to the door you will see a sink and a white dresser. There should be a defibrillator part 1 out of 2. Same side of the room in the next corner is a shelf with the oxygen mask grab that. Behind the man is another white dresser check the right bottom cub for the second defibrillator part.

Throw the mask on the man and go to the right side of the man for the white tower of tech. Put the two defibrillator in the tech tower. Left side of the man another tech tower click the switches.
I did it left to right not sure if that makes a difference.

Back to the Right tower and click the switch then the man and you're done

Hey ZombieTaco It def been a while since I played the game but I know I got the achievement in chapter 4 maybe try a run through with just the antibiotics and no pills? I know I had to do this game in multiple runs to get all the achievements.

Can't figure out the "healthy as a bull" achievement. I drank the antibiotics in the bathroom cupboard AND healed with pills after getting hurt but nothing happens. Is there multiple locations? Google isn't helpful 😭

ok I don't know wtf else I need to do to get that 30 minutes achievment - I've tried 4 times beeing afk for like 40 minutes and this stupid achievment just won't work.

Come on guys this game isn't that genious that I want to play it over and over again! this achievment is ♥♥♥♥

Достижения с антибиотиками и выключателями выполняется в 3 главе. После того как проснулся, необходимо выпить таблетки и можно спокойно идти нажимать на все выключатели.

So I finally got it with the help of the community. By following this guide you will not get it.
- Start level 3
- Get battery from the table infront of the fireplace
- Make your way through the house and press all the light switches along the way. (Here the guide says otherwise so the grandma will not spawn here.)
- Grandma starts chasing you
- Run to you room and click on the bed (Pillows don't count)

Hey Muckelchen Sorry I had it listed in the achievements I believe it's chapter 4 the dolls though I don't fully remember at what part of the chapter you get the option to sleep I did choose the sofa in the living room. Maybe you have to be injured to have the option to sleep instead of finding a healing item?

Hi, thanks for the guide, however you did not mention the "Nightmare" achievement in your walkthrough. From the description I tried sleeping multiple times at the sofa or the bed, but nothing happened. Can anyone help?
