Report a translation problem
1. You could be forgetting to get the ending 3 first. The game will allow you to use the lazy method as long as you got one of the two ending, and getting both ending 3 & 4 without the lazy method is literally the same except for the lust level.
2. You could be using a save file that you didn't get one of the two endings before for a new run.
That's all of the possibility I can think of so far. If you can't really get the ending 4 with the lazy method then you should maybe try to get the ending 3 or 4 with out the lazy method to see if there're any difference.
After reading your comments I reinstalled the game and tried to get ending 3 & 4 exactly like in my guide but with a completely new save, and I didn't see any problem with it. I tried both endings with and without the lazy method, and all work just fine. And after getting either one of the two endings I can access the tank(lazy method) at any lust level as well. And I also was never asked to go to the entrance to get anything, I didn't even go to the entrance at all while trying to get the ending 3 & 4.
