Celestialreich is a fictional history mod made by Chinese hoi4 players, which includes many bold settings: Changed political landscape of East Asia based on the Sino-Japanese War, Soviet Union without Lenin assassinated, dilapidated Portuguese-Brazilian Empire, Spanish Civil War with serious interventions of the great powers, United States with a one-party system… Some of them have been installed in the game while some of them not (We’re really working on it!) In any case, we all hope that you can enjoy your game journey!

The year was 1936, eighteen years after the Great War had drawn to its bitter close.

France still bores its labyrinth of scars: barbed wire, trenches, unexploded shells – or rather, War itself – still lived vividly upon the land, alongside the hatred that had since grown into what men called Hell. The British Empire sank into twilight, its Crown Jewel now teetering, threatening to drag the aged colossus into the abyss. Over Berlin, the black eagle soared with undiminished arrogance – master of the World Island’s skies, gazing down upon sun-bathed lands whose prosperity seemed an endless summer. Yet its ally, the Habsburg brilliance, was stained with blood: the Empress assassinated, the throne vacant – the fragile realm’s entire weight now rested upon the shoulders of a single person, "Patriot" Borojevic.

On the western rim of Pacific, victories in the Sino-Japanese War and the Great War had failed to resurrect the world’s oldest nation. Outwardly, the old feudal literati and the nascent industrial bourgeoisie stood united beneath the banner of the Aisin Gioro. But behind the soaring economic figures printed in newspapers, the grasping tendrils of both factions had sunk deep into the rich soil of the East, twisting into knots. Victory bought with betrayal ignited the tinder; as the Qing court shattered, China descended once more into the long night of warlords.

Across the new world, the Eternal Republic had stood for sixty years. Steered by Benjamin F. Butlers and his successors, this single-party state held little democracy, yet its self-proclaimed Manifest Destiny drove the giant to stretch its claws across the Pacific: Japan, the Philippines, even the Republic of China. America’s frontier verged on piercing China herself – but with the collapse of the Coolidge Prosperity, the Republican Party faced its deepest schism since Cox：ruin loomed.

The year was 1936. Less than four years remained before the world would again be plunged into war.
