Bonus Tips

This event doesn't require you to gild any hobbies or jobs, so you can save your beachballs for other purchases if you wish. I'd suggest saving your beachballs to buy the x8 speed boost in the shop as soon as you reach 50 beachballs, and then buying it a second time when you reach another 50 beachballs. Saving for the x64 straight away will save you some beachballs, however the amount you save is not worth the amount of time lost as you wait to actually get there in the first place. Aside from this, here is a list of all the hobby requirements, so you don't level your hobbies higher than you have to!

@kalanyr As Fytayn stated, Marine Biologist would be the highest job you get early on in the game, so you would gild it first. Florist comes dead last once you unlock the hobbies for it later in the game, and by then you would have all jobs unlocked. It wouldn't matter since you should essentially already have it by then and ideally gilded. You still need to meet the requirements with the other jobs for the other girls, which actually take a while if you're not gilding them.

As a note it's probably a good idea to include the Profit/Time Block/Sec as well as the time / sec because eg Marine Biologist is actually nearly twice as efficient as Florist blockwise and nearly as good time wise

To anyone looking at this right now, January 2024, I'd suggest Gilding Marine Biologist as soon as you get it. It's the second most profitable job and helps speed up progress enough that the 3 Beach Balls aren't really a loss on the way to getting the two x8 for the x64.

@skullymassie you don't "activate" these events. They appear when they're on schedule to appear. In this case, it is happening right now. At the time you commented, it would seem you missed this event (especially when you're new to this). This is an old guide, mind you. So everything that's in here may have changes. important thing to keep in mind is just to save up for the 50 (of whatever reward you get each time you level up the girls) and use that for the x8 speed boost. Then, 50 more again for the x8 boost at which point you would have practically maxed out the speed you can get while getting the extra boosts over time through this event.

Or, just splurge with your gems you have earned from the main game to get ahead of it all after you convert them to that currency so you'd max out your boosts early - but it can be better to not do that unless you're desperate.
