Why this guide?

Most info is hidden away behind help messages that most people probably skipped over, or can't find out to reactivate again. This guide is meant to help and educate, while also giving you information to get the fastest car around.
General Info
These info boxes can be brought up in the F1 World garage by pressing [F10] (default)

Notables
  • Unique upgrades can be upgraded indefinitely, as mentioned above
  • Your F1 World garage will start with common upgrades, but you will always receive uncommons or above
  • Tech level starts at 100, the current cap is 1000. The cap will be increased with every seasonal update.
  • You can have a maximum of 14 of the same item.
Engineering new items

Most items can be engineered. This is a skill that is unlocked after completing the Welcome to F1 World Event.

You can bring up the engineering menu by pressing [F1]

A notable here is that there seems to be no downside for engineering resources as for example 50k cash can be exchanged for 50 insight but also vice versa.
Upgrading existing Items
Uncommon, Rare, Epic and Legendary items can be upgraded a total of 3 times. The current upgrade level is marked by a white indicator on 3 sides. When all 3 white indicators are white the item is fully upgraded.

Contracts
Before we can start with team mods, we first need to understand contracts. Just like the other upgrades contracts come in different rarities. Contracts however can't seem to be legendary.

Contracts can have different durations. The contract level also does not per say correspond to it's duration. For example :
  • Uncommon contracts can last for 10 races
  • Rare contracts can last for 15 races
  • Epic contracts can last for 5 races

If your team members contract expires, his bonuses will be rendered invalid

Each sort of team member has their own sort of contract. This means that you might have just received an epic contract which can then only be used for a sponsor.

Contract bonuses
These can range from :
    Sponsor contract bonuses
  • Cash bonus at Low/Medium/High tyre wear events
  • Cash bonus when starting in the top 10
    Principal contract bonuses
  • + Insight from events

Thanks for the reply. Would also love a F1 24 guide but I guess EA didn't change a lot. Tnx for your work!

Any clue what's better? "higher chance" or "20% chance"?

@emilio, the default button should be F10 or F11 on your keyboard, if you do not have those look into FN keys

great guide

I've been saving some parts around the 100 marks indeed, but since most people will just want the most overpowered car, and since the hard limit of 1000 will be increased each season, it won't be possible to keep onto all those items.
Frank Bullitt Jul 7, 2023 @ 6:13am
I heard That it is important to keep some low level vehicle upgrades and not dismantle all of them. You should keep for example a 100,200,300 400 ……800,900 upgrade for later to keep the game and opponents a challenge and parenting the game to get easy boring
