Castle Wackersberg

Description
Niklas Leon is on his way to marry his fiancée Helene, the daughter of a wealthy Bavarian count, Gottfried von Wackersberg. But he is about to discover that true darkness lies within the human heart.

STORY
You are the son of a wealthy industrialist from Munich, with aristocratic roots. Some time ago, you became engaged to Helene, the daughter of Bavarian Count Gottfried, the lord of a remote castle named Wackersberg. You first met Helene at a ball, hosted by Elector Maximilian Joseph at Nymphenburg Palace. Your relationship has blossomed, and the two of you decided to marry.

The wedding will take place at Wackersberg, where you are now traveling. Helene requested that it be a modest affair. Your father, due to medical reasons, was unable to accompany you, so you are making the journey alone.

As you look out the window of your carriage at the dark forest surrounding you, an unsettling feeling stirs within you—something is not right. May God be with you.

Take your time to explore the environment carefully, for every map holds one secret, a note, and some useful items. The secret in the entrance hall will not be accessible during your first visit. It will become available later, after you repair the elevator.

You are not required to read the secret notes, but they may provide additional insights into the world in which this story unfolds.

Yes, I get notifications. Could you please send me your save file? I'd check it and eventually fix the issue, if there's any.

Yup did it all, just check my playthrough at around 4:18:00. I wonder if it might be the coal being bugged out. I basically did one half of all the puzzles when i first got to the main hall and the other half of the puzzles now many months later now that ive collected all the items to fix the elevator. I notice the furnace already has 3 coals in it and the levers are stuck at the botton and the pistons are already in, and I did everything else now. Are you sure it does not bug when you try to fix the elevator at very different point of the game? You can see here to check if I did everything right https://youtube.com/live/UT8X0qT9uuI?feature=share

I don't remember any pipe, there are the 6 rods, each with a different color. They are definitely needed. You can check Swankest's walkthrough https://youtu.be/w3VqSO6I53o?si=EnUKuGUcKljy2FxC

Tbh the elevator/machine room is really so complicated that even I sometimes have to spend some minutes thinking what I missed. But that's how Swankest wanted it to be.

IIRC the coal and other items should respawn if lost, the same applies to most of the story-related items in the machine room. There's also more coal in the storage.

- get at least three pieces of the coal and place it in the furnance/boiler
- get some oil from the cellar and pour it to the funnel next to the boiler
- get 2 cog wheels (can be found in the machine room) and place them on the cogwheel wall
- solve the flow control room puzzle (first blue, last cyan. Similar colors should not be next to each other)
- lower both pistons
- set the levers on the steam pressure control panel to the correct positions (4 up, 4 down)
- finally, pull the lever next to the furnace in the boiler room, that will start the elevator machine

I did everything correct in the machine room and the elevator wont start, i think i finished the pistons puzzle near the start of my playthrough they are in place cant move the levers, i think i also added the coal to the boiler at the start of the playthrough and i added more coal, i dont know if this glitched the game out. One of the coals i tried putting in fell outside because it couldnt fully fit inside the boiler, and its stuck on the floor and i cant pick it up. Could any of this have contributed to a glitch? I added water, put proper rod colors and got the sanity and music effects, and added the cogwheels. Do i have to put the pipe somewhere?

Hi Paralyzer,
thanks for the comments, the music player is in the dining room as far as I remember. There's a box where you can drop (or take back) the music boxes if you don't want them in your inventory.

What do you mean by launghing has stopped?

Also, where tf is the friendly music player?!?!?! :steamsad:

I am finally nearing the end of Castle Wackersberg. I left comments over a year ago on moddb so I have taken more than a year to finish this mod, but not for any bad reasons. It is a long mod and I like taking and being immersed while playing, also had to restart at one point. I remember talking to HeadlessCyborg about putting back the OG voice acting. (I am not sure if other people pushed for this decision as well). So far this mod has been a very memorable experience, easy to follow, I struggled a tremendous amount with the party room puzzle though. I think it's part of Amnesia mods charm that people have broken english but from what I remember it doesn't make a lot of sense. I am so hyped to finally reach that top balcony on the ceiling of the Main Hall and see the view at the top. But I realized the laughing has stopped?!?!

(PS. I originally wrote this comment on moddb and I see now that other people mentioned the ai voice and cyborg's reply 😂💀, I wonder what words were censored there, I think the real idiots were the people who said the original voice was bad. It is a damn comedy custom story and already has better voice acting than even some serious ones. Dont be mad at us for wanting it back 😂. but its cool that there are 2 different options, (it depends on your sense of humor which one is better) thanks for this experience! Looking forward to meeting Mr. Wackersberg himself (I am zooted right now I might not remember the main villains name)
