South China Sea Swimming Bug Fix

In this guide, I want to help make the swimming section in South China Sea possible.

Since DICE can't fix a near soft lock bug for over 10 years, I am making this guide because everyone else's crappy advice never worked for me when I went through it all these years.

I tested and completed this section twice in under three minutes both times by locking down my FPS to 60.

I may be lucky but every time I had it above 60, it would take me 10 to 45 minutes to complete the swimming section.

Preparation

ALL OF THIS IS DONE IN-GAME. NOT IN NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL.



In your in-game video settings, turn VSync on.

If your display refresh rate is above 60 FPS, in-game, change it down to be limited.

Idk what your monitor may be like but my option is 2560x1440 - 59.95hz.


This option can vary. Some people have 59.97hz, 59.95hz, etc. You get the point.

Action (Just Keep Swimming)

After you have that set, start swimming.

Hold W. Do not ever let go unless you want to go flying all the way back.

Wiggle left and right using A and D keys. This depends on you but you can wiggle fast or slow depending on where you are at and how stuck.

DO NOT move your mouse unless you are turning a corner. Even then, be easy with it.

I think I heard of this solution as well but I am too tired of this mission to want to try out more solutions for something this broken and annoying.

just press Esc button and unpause right away, this somehow removes the backward thrust while holding W

2025 Update, set to 30hz or 30fps. Appears to make it tremendously easier.

You can set a FPS limit in the game using the console command:
gametime.maxvariablefps 60
For 60 fps for example and it can be set back to the default 200 or higher/lower if desired.
Access the console using the ~ or ` key below the Esc key.
