General Tips
Starting Apartment
While the studio apartment is cheaper, the low-income apartment is also affordable early game. The studio apartment takes a long time to drive out of because of that annoying intersection between it and the rest of the city. This is especially bad because you start with a very slow car, meaning it will take you a long time to get to work. Because of this, I recommend always going for the studio apartment first. Make sure you pay rent! You can see when it's due next in the money tab.

Side Jobs
There are several ways to get cash in Little Lives, though none of them as lucrative as actual careers. Side jobs are good for getting some extra cash, especially on days off or when you don't have rent money (they are not very helpful lategame).
You can:
  • Stack shelves at the minimarket in midtown or downtown for $9/hr.
  • Walk dogs at the forest, the park downtown, and the beach downtown for $10/hr. (5 times a day per location)
  • Play a gig at the bar using guitar skill for around $0-100 (only works 1-3 times a day).
  • Play in a chess tournament using chess skill for around $0-100. (only works once a day)

Character Creation
Most of what you do when you initially create your character cannot be changed. You will get different clothes later and can change your hair, but otherwise everything is permanent.

World Events
There are a few interesting characters scattered about the city. Here is an explanation of their events:
  • Raven: Raven first appears in the parking lot, offering you $200 to go over a ramp. This is achievable with the first car. Once that is complete, she appears just North of the parking lot, beside a road. There is another ramp that is not completable with the first car, for which she will give you $400. The final challenge is to ramp up onto the highway, which you will need the best car for (may be possible with 2nd best, haven't tested).
  • Shell collector: The shell collector appears in the forest after someone you know tells you about him (this will happen a couple days into the game). He will buy shells from you for $400 five times. This is very good for getting money early-game. You can get shells by foraging on the beach, or occasionally buy them at the pawn shop for only a few dollars each.
  • Park merchant: Occasionally, a person will show up at the park offering some item of clothing for a significant discount. You will know they are there when the green question mark symbol shows up on the park (it is in uptown).
  • Witch: I don't know how to trigger meeting the witch, but she is in uptown and will sell you health potions that do the same thing as the hospital but for much more money.
  • Pyramid scheme: When I tried to test out the pyramid scheme, I was not given the social card that it said I would be given. I believe I had the maximum amount of cards at the time so it glitched and locked me out forever. If you want to do the pyramid scheme events, make sure you have a free card slot when you go to hotel d'opulence (the uptown hotel).
Character Traits: Cost, Usefulness, and Explanation
When you create your character, you have options for positive and negative traits that will affect gameplay. You are given 4 points. These traits can not be changed later.

A * in the usefulness column means that I have not tested that particular trait by using it in a run myself.

So for the pyramid scheme, if you do do the first 3 steps, you get the option to turn them into the police, and can make a profit of $2500.

The max position for the technology branch is, Chief Technology Officers at $70. the one before that is Director of Technology for $58. Which honestly seems a bit low for a tech field job especially compared to some others that are near $100.
