I started making the no-recycling mall and was then immediately trying to recycle items by placing logistics on the storage and clogged it up. Fortunately I'm not to far along. :)
The reason I even ask is this: When you are setting up this mall, especially someone who isn't as familiar with all the requirements for a given building, it is easy to place too many of the needed items on the same side of the builder - I have to have one output on the outside part of the factory, meaning I can only draw in two items from that side. If I set it up such that THREE of what I need are on that side, then reworking the entire belt line to remove that one item to relocate it is...
... well, it's messy. I made it work on my own after a great deal of trial, error, and messy cleanups, but knowing from the start exactly which items should be on which belts will save a great deal of time in setup and cleaning.
Hoping that made sense.
- stone
- magnetic coil
- photon combiner
- plasma exciter
- glass
- titanium glass
- negentropy singularity
- crystal silicon
- [made in-place] thrusters
Belt 2:
- steel
- graphene
- motors
- copper ingots
- turbines
- super-magnetic rings
- matter recombinator
- dark fog matrix
- [made in-place] reinforced thrusters
Belt 3:
- gears
-
- carbon nanotubes
- titanium alloy
- processors
- particle broadband
- energy shard
- silicon-based neuron
- [made in-place] annihilation constraint sphere
Belt 4:
- iron ingot
- frame material
- titanium ingot
- particle container
- plane filter
- microcrystalline component
- unipolar magnet
- diamond
- [made in-place] graviton lens
Belt 5:
- circuit board
-
- strange matter
- accumulators [with charging station]
-
- quantum chip
- grating crystal
- high-purity silicon
- [made in-place] engines
But I'll post the exact breakdown in a separate comment in case it's helpful to anybody. As mentioned in the guide, on each belt, the first listed item occupies 1/3 of the belt, items 2-6 occupy 1/9 of the belt each, and items 7-9 occupy 1/27 of the belt. So important items come in first place, and unimportant stuff is placed towards the end.
I am curious which things you put on which belt as an overall - you give comments about the most common items (IE, slot one for each of then nine-slot rebalancers), but a full list of which items you put where would also be useful.
Especially to those of us who might, possibly, be a bit overwhelmed by the sheer number of things that are needed in various places.
Btw, I'm also old, so we'll just try to help each other out where we can. :)
HOWEVER! - One thing that is not immediately clear from the guide is the need to set the filters on the rebalancers (on the back side as noted above) - It is really important to set these BEFORE feeding anything into the mall. Because I didn't, and of course my belts ground to a halt, and it took me a little while to work out what was going wrong. But that may just be a me being old problem!
