Succubus Dungeon - A playable civilization

Description
IMPORTANT: This mod requires DFHack.
Without it, many features will not work.

WARNING: There is an issue with scripts if you open multiple saves. In case of doubt, press Ctrl + Shift + D and run "enable succubus-dungeon" in the DFHack command prompt.

Succubus Dungeon features a playable evil civilization, taking inspiration from Dungeon Keeper and other “be the Evil” games. In this mod, roles are switched. Goblins come to trade with you and the dwarven, elven and human civs are hostile to your forts. You can also install the mod if you wish a new invader against your dwarven fort. Succubi bring new challenges to overcome, thanks to their selection of creatures.

Features
  • A new race of evil demon girls (and demon boys).
  • Defend yourself with various monsters.
  • Fire immune citizens.
  • Generate magma anywhere, make magma forges, traps, waterfalls...
  • Get slade blocks to build an authentic demonic spire.
  • Attract visitors and turn them into half demons.
  • Capture invaders and turn them into zombies.
  • Give magic powers to your select citizens.

Troubleshooting
Are you encountering a bug? A workshop that does nothing? Here what you can do.
  • Open the DFHack command prompt by pressing Ctrl + Shift + D.
  • Type "enable succubus-dungeon" and press enter.
  • If that does not help, type "show" in the command prompt and report error messages to the forum threads below.

Other issues and gotchas
  • Make sure slade is enabled for use in non-economic jobs in the Stone menu. Otherwise, you won't be able to make slade slabs.
  • Many buildings require magma. If you cannot assign jobs, try to reconstruct it as you would build a magma forge.
  • You will get kidnapping alerts every time merchants leave your site. You can ignore that.
  • DF is not fully aware that succubi are resistant to heat. They still treat magma as an obstacle and might be paralyzed by fire. In the worst cases, use DfHack's liquids command to give them a dash of water to shake them back.
  • Remember that creatures store heat in their bodies. A succubus may burn items, and their blood can cause burns because they took a dip in magma.
  • Visitors corrupted by the den of iniquity may not obey you right away, they may have unfinished business and leave your site before coming back.
  • Not all frog demons can join the military, this is a weird behavior from DF that consider some of them unfit. All those who are born in your fort should be eligible.

Playing as Succubi
The gameplay is a variant of your usual dwarven fort, with more of this and less of that. You cannot make steel but instead rely on magma traps and powerful monsters. A few of them are intelligent enough to complete jobs and wield large weapons.

You can generate slade at will. It’s free but very heavy and will require careful stockpile management with wheelbarrows. Make sure to enable both slade and flux stones to use in non-economic jobs in the Stones menus. Alternatively, the Float Glass Furnace allows you to produce glass materials in large quantities.

Don’t forget that some jobs, such as “Make Metal Bed” let you select materials by clicking on the magnifying glass icon.

Mod Compatibility
This mod is designed for minimal conflicts. There are minor edits to vanilla creatures and both dwarven and goblin entities.

I recommend installing CGE Extended for consistent visuals.

Positions
Here are the administrative positions and their matching dwarven equivalents:
  • Matron and Matriarch → Expedition Leader and Mayor
  • Keeper of Secrets → Both Bookkeeper and Manager
  • Dealer → Broker
  • Battle Leader → Militia commander
  • Battle Guide → Militia captain
  • Enforcer and Oppressor → Sheriff and Captain of the Guard
  • Whipper → Hammerer, they also meet unhappy workers.
  • Chief Nurse → Chief Medical Dwarf

Credits
This mod has been developed thanks to many contributions from the Bay12Games community, the DfHack developers and Steam modders. It is here thanks to you, you are all awesome.

The succubi portraits has been released, enjoy.
For safety, as I touched on how succubi are born, it requires a new world.

I sent a bug report to the DFHack team. Until then, be careful if you close and load saves or generate new worlds or type "enable succubus-dungeon" in dfhack when you load your save.
To reduce the number of moving parts, I'm dropping the script that add or remove magma well directions. If you launch the mod, you'll have plenty of jobs that do not work, but I believe nearly everyone here figured out how to install it.

Okay the first issue I found that no matter what, if you return to the main menu, DFHack does not rerun the needed scripts. I am sure that was not the case before so I'll ask around what changed.
I hope to have it sorted out soon. I finished the portraits and I'm just testing things before the release.

i can put down one well, but v7 production produces 3/7 thick lava. if i put down a second well it immediately stops producing lava and those two workshops disappear.

I tried doing the enable succubus-dungeon, it told me it was all enabled, but no lava would produce, tried deleting the wells and doing enable again then remaking them but still no lava :(

Okay I had it happen too and now I'm investigating this.
Until then, in the console window you can try typing "enable succubus-dungeon".

If it says something about adding workship and reactions you should be good. If I cannot fix that, I'll just make the mod dfhack only and put the scripted parts visible no matter your setup.

thanks for your hard work, i checked for any civ patches but none for dwarven core harvesting.

hopefully this doesn't give you too much trouble, the sucubi is one of the most fun mods with the dagonkin civ, when they start fighting the whole map starts burning hehe

It seems to me that there is a script failing, sometimes. I'll redo the steps and see what is broken.
Also to get another mod to work require either me or the mod maker to write it down first. I can add them in for the next uptade.
You canalso look up for the civ patches in the workshop, there several that add them in.
