Con Bravo 2016
Game on Hold!
Release date: Est 2015
Fantasy Life is an RPG game taking a harvest moon spin on final fantasy style gameplay. In Fantasy Life you will have choices that shape your world and your story leading you down the path of a Hero, Villain, or anything inbetween.

While Fantasy Life looks like your traditional RPG Maker game I can assure you IT IS NOT!

Fantasy Life is a life simulation RPG game. While the basic premise of the game will be to explore, raid dungeons, level your character, and save the world, there is so much more to this game than that! Maybe instead of being a dungeon explorer you would rather buy a house and start a farm? Or maybe you feel obligated to open a store or perhaps go out for a night on the town with a beautiful lady or handsome man? While seasons an time pass, so does the game move on. In winter you'll have to find other forms of income if your a farmer, as time moves on plagues might affect areas, or natural disasters occur.

The story of the game is generate base on your back story you give your character an how they progress in their lives in the game. If you save a town in one instance your heroism may be called on in another. Or if you destroy a town the game will adjust to make you the villain, giving you more access to evil options an missions.

But out of all this my favorite part is the story. In Fantasy Life the story doesn't throw you in as the hero, or the villain, or even an anybody. Your just a new person who moved into a town. Nothing bad will probably even occur for your first couple of days there, but after a random interval of time one of many different events will occur opening the doors for you to become the hero, or the villain, or nothing at all. Every choice in the game is yours, if a city is burning you can save it or leave it. If a villain is trying to control the world, you can oppose, contend with him, partner with him, or ignore him entirely! (Well attempt to)

Our goal is to release this game in beta as soon as it's greenlit, so we can keep adding your ideas to the game. We love player feedback and it is what has driven the game to where it's at now!
Our greenlight will be up soon, so when it is, come back us for a copy of the game and get yourself in it! :D

In short this game is meant to be a fun way to explore an experience a fantasy style life live by you! Every choice is made by you, an affects you.

Q) This looks like it is mostly just RPG Maker VX Ace Graphics.
A) While most assets are made using the engine or used from the engine, that's what the engine is for. By handling the tedious extra tasks I was able to fully focus on the code and gameplay with all the dynamic generation of characters, events, and choices. I would like to enhance the graphics in the future, but from what I've seen core gameplay is more important than graphics.

Q) This game has a lot of content, but what about a story?
A) While there is no set story I can assure you the story is still fantastic through generation. Each time you play (even if you've made the exact same character) your story will be different each play through. How do I know? I've presented this game to over 100 people for demos, and only about 5 were dissatisfied. We took their problems with the game and adjusted it, an now they're on board again.

Q) Will it only be on Windows?
A) Unfortunately it probably will be, but I am eagerly looking for a solution to get it on MAC an Linux, however I need to focus on the finished product first.

Q) But Fantasy Life 3DS...
A) I know, but if it comes to it I'll just alter the name even though I already have copyright on this one, and had the alpha out for a long time (almost 5 years, I even used a couple previous systems to test my ideas, but none really suited them until now) being tested by 10 others, and there is no co-relation between the two games. I have no idea what Nintendo's game is about and it has had no influence on the creation of this product. If you really want Fantasy Life 3DS then go buy it and support Nintendo :)

Q) This seems ambitious...Why release in beta?
A) The game is a big project, an we want to bring as many ideas humanly possible into this game. This means that I will take your feedback during the beta and attempt to improve the game as we go. Got a new idea that you think would be awesome in the game (Serious or silly) and we'll try it in game if it fit's we'll keep it in. We've had tonnes of suggestions from fans, and so far testers have loved them :D

@hsuzumiya6 Thanks for the heads up. The final release is having a name change, but for now we are keeping Fantasy Life RPG for search purposes.

hope legal troubles hasnt hampered progress, Guardlight are on the case of a Pokemon Go clone called "Bajomon Destiny" so i was worried, as you did state your IP to not be like a Level 5/Nintendo game on 3DS, (still worth a buy.)

@hsuzumiya6 The dev team right now is 2 programmers, 2 storyboard, and 2 artists.
By developing narrative I'm planning on doing branching story paths in the game, but I have room build in to add more content later. I never planned on charging for dlc. :)

i do however have a few other questions but first, some info. Level 5 developed Fantasy Life and it was published by Nintendo, this means Nintendo owns that IP. secondly, i have seen the FMV of the game it is done similar to Professor layton, and so my 2 burning questions, Dev team size, how many developers do you guys have? secondly "developing narrative", honestly, thats the first time i have heard it but does that include a branching plot or terminology of plans for expansions?
(if it is expansions, i trust you will be able to price accordingly with the Steam market...)

i however will have further queries but for now i am satisfied.
