The cover-up achievement

Hi, I'll show you how to get the cover-up achievement. Screenshots will be with dialogues in Polish, but they are not important. Alternatively, they can always be translated. This is my first guide and I hope that it will be understandable for you :) The words are translated by a translator.

Step 1 - Capute the Bari

The most important thing in my opinion is not to occupy airports near bari, same about the largest airport in fogglia. When we take over the port of Bari. In the next turn or several (probably it's random) we'll get information that Bari is the main target of German bombers and we should strengthen our anti-aircraft defense. Of course, we don't do that and keep waiting.

Step 2 - We wait

We will notice that several ships will arrive in the port of Bari, which are targeted by bombers.

Here I waited several turns for the bomber plane to move from the airport towards bari. Of course, I still didn't do anything with my units.

When the bomber is already moving then we know that half of the success is behind us.

Here it is about the damage caused by the raid on the ships.

Step 3 - Complete a side quest in Bari

After the bombing, the side mission "Bari Health Disaster" will pop up.

General Norton is talking here about the casualties that are in Bari and that we should get reinforcements there.

Now we must direct our troops to Bari. The time to complete the task - 5 turns. Importantly, our unit must be in the port for 3 turns.
2 / 3 turns

Step 4 - Enjoy the completed task and the achievement.

After 3 turns our quest is done and we get our the cover-up achievement :)

how did you get to bari without land connection? Did you go through enemy territory, or did you land there with ships? Because I did not try to go around the peninsula with my ship, I thought that it was not possible.

I did not conquer any airport, only Potenza and some hubs and resources locations, and still nothing happened after conquering Bari. Did I do something wrong? I did not conquer any other city. Should I wait more time?

Hi update august 2025

I was able to get it going. I first failed by not having a company inside Bari when it was bomber making me waste 20 turns before going back to a previous safe.

I did not go north being Nocera and Montella.

I did capture Potenza.

After taking bali (send to units of paratroppers there you can get there easily enough with taking an airport. You can drop them off next to Altamura using a Douglas from Monte Corvino Airfield and then just move to turns before paradropping into the Italian territory.

After winning Bari I chose use supply.

I defended rest of my areas but didnt attack out. I the entrancement mission by using the battleship to just bomb it and did the repair vehicle as it spawned next to Bari.

I waited around 5-6 turns from taking Bari and hearing the dialogue betwen the generals.

In this save I started by taking Salermo and not going for the airfield first.

Couldn't reproduce the steps on my old single player save, so started a new one with the help of @CaptainCanary 's guide below with a bit of changes and details:

1-6 steps done the same~~
7. I choose the option to capture Naples, but completely ignored that questline anyway.
8. Once the C-47 is built, move the airborne company to Monte Corvino and select the Paradrop Company action.
9. Drop the company as close to Bari as possible, near Spinazzola.
10. My company got immediately hit by a plane and artillery - i dropped a supply drop with the C-47 used before - which replenished their health and got them another supply bar - thanks to that it is possible to march and take GRUMO
11. Force march the airborne company into Bari as fast as you can.

Be patient, it took 5-10 turns for the plane and questline to appear.
I can provide a save file if that doesn't work for you.

Glad I am not alone here. It started getting annoying after spending too much time grinding on this. It's probably an unreasonably conditioned RNG (or maybe even bugged now with 0.3% success rate). I suggest to not waste more time if you are unlucky (but happy to be proven wrong if anyone can share a guide works for a recent patch)

@JokerXL In the same boat. I have played the campaign through on each difficulty at least twice each and still cannot get this to trigger. Even went by the screenshots to map out the same territory but to no avail.
