Hi everyone. September 2019 brought us cool 600*900 covers for Steam library.
But not for all games. We decided to correct this flagrant injustice!


It so happened that so far:

• Some developers ignored these covers.
  
• Managers of some publishers cannot figure out which covers to upload.
  
• Also, some filled out the game page a long time ago that they don't even know about the change in the cover format in the library.
  
• And there are even those who upload random pics instead of the original covers, which all the fans know about and which shine on old CDs.

Being real perfectionists we couldn't help but fix at least the most popular titles. And alongside with that we wanted to bring them to a overall look. Some ready-to-go covers can be immediately googled, others we work on and create from scratch.

If you want a thing well done, do it yourself! :D

And since we started to fix the covers, we couldn’t resist to fix the backgrounds, logos, along with their positions and small covers of the last game:


It's clear that we already fixed a lot and do not want to insert all this into the folder by hand. It's time for an app. Kind of a one-button solution. We dug into the STEAM files and it turned out that this is possible. And so the app was born


It's incredibly simple. The application scans Steam for account IDs in the ..\Steam\userdata\ folder, then reads the IDs of the games in the Steam profile itself via a public link, then compares it with our database and suggests to a user to update his library then downloads these files and copies them to ..\Steam\userdata\000000000\config\grid\
(where 000000000 is a unique user ID)


We made the first working prototype very straighforward: You can get high-quality covers, backgrounds, logos for your games (I'm also QA, so I guarantee 95% quality coverage :D)

Update

Further update of the database of fixed games will depend on the popularity of the project and the mood to photoshop something (this is a great stress reliever)

Security

The application uses only GET methods and only one POST to send us a list of games for comparison. We do not store any information on submitted requests. More details about the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use can be found on the website below

Known Issues

• if you set custom Windows wrong time - app would not work
  Can be fixed by set time to auto

Updated to 1.8.0
• When going back, the selected user now remains selected instead of the selection being cleared
• A new parameter has been added that searches for games slightly better
• The method of retrieving deleted games has been changed. So now there is no games with "Unknown Name"
• Adding a reading of titles from a local file, for extra caution

Updated to 1.7.0
We did hotfix because third party services has changed API

We sepatated all errors and negative user cases
- After Steam update now error of private games and error of absence of games are on one screen with hints (because steam do the same response and we can't tell them apart)
- If we do't have files for your games you see new screen
- Also if Steam folder was moved to else path now you can find path and select steam.exe manualy

Minor changes:
- Now UPDATE button updates project directly without need to open landing page
- On many screens now added BACK button
- Now games searched with some additional parameters and it is more correctly
- We did rebuild for setup.exe and update.exe and it verified by Microsoft and VirusTotal

- Also now you can select to remove all files at once and see how much they take up memory

Now we use Steam Web-Api to read games of players because steam profiles now can't be readed without login even if they public (it is new rules of new steam client update)
