Explanation of how to install and use PCOT, the PC game translation support tool

What is PCOT?

A tool that uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to read text and automatically translate it.
It is a free software[www.gc-net.jp] made in Japan, developed and released by “Nuruppo”.
There are a total of 35 languages available for translation!
Both source and target languages are available in 35 languages.
Full screen and some processes are not supported. Also, real-time translation is not supported.

It is very useful for role-playing games, simulations, adventures, visual novels,
and other games that require text to be displayed in a fixed position.
It supports not only games but also all kinds of applications such as Kindle and PDF.
It also works on Windows 11.

By the way, PCOT stands for Process Connect Ocr Translator.

　Pressing the “Free Choice (フリー選択)” button launches the scanning screen,
　allowing you to translate the area you have dragged.

　By registering the translation range in the “Title Setting (タイトル設定)” section,
　the specified range can be translated with a single click of the “Translate (翻訳)” button.

　Shortcut keys are also available so you can translate without clicking.

　By default, Google Translate is used, but you can link to the more accurate DeepL,
　so we recommend that you check the translation results with both!

　Translation results are displayed in an instant.

Introduction

　1. Download from the official website[www.gc-net.jp]

　　　

　2. Download and install the runtime[www.microsoft.com]（vc_redist.x86.exe）
　　 ※ Please download in Japanese（日本語）

　3. Download the app version of Deepl[www.deepl.com] to work with PCOT

　4. Install a language pack to use “Windows 10 OCR” which is
　　more accurate than “Tesseract OCR”

　　・Choose a language from the Add a language list under Preferred languages

　　　　

　　・Under Install language features, select Install language pack

　　　　

　　・To translate Chinese, please install the following language pack

　　　　

　　　　

How to use

　1. Launch the game you want to translate

　　　

　2. Start “PCOT.exe”
　　 ※ For OS other than Windows 10, please start “PCOT_OTHER_WIN10.exe”

　3. Select the game you want to translate from the list

　　　

　4. By default, only English is available for translation. To translate other languages,
　　you will need to add Tesseract-enabled languages from the OCR language settings.

　　　

　　　

　5. Set OCR reading language and OCR engine from OCR reading settings

　　　

　　　

　6. You can translate by specifying the translation range from the free choice.

　8. It is possible to fix the translation range from the title setting.
　　An unlimited number of title settings can be created for each game,
　　but only 9 shortcut keys are supported for each.

OCR読取設定から、使用OCRエンジンをWindows10 OCRに変更できないという意味でしょうか？

読取言語の変更は、Tesseract OCR 言語設定から言語の追加が必要です。
言語の追加は、エンジンがWindows10 OCRでも必要となります。
また、Windows10 OCRを使用するには、Windowsの言語設定から言語パックのインストールが必要となります。
