I spent an embarrassingly long time plotting how to bring Arctis back from a wipe as quickly as possible before realizing that, actually, Arctis's gimmick was going to eat the malevolent alien intelligence alive as soon as it flipped, which it did.
But I'm still going to try to do a bunch, unless I get really tired of him and realize I'm starting to make a character I really like less fun for myself.
For a while I also used a second set of statistics that Sentinels Digital tracks. Those stats were missing for a while but are back now. The new stats currently aren't as good for analysis, but that should change in the future. However, Arctis only has 13 played games in the time that digital stats cover (2025/10/06 to today). I don't know how many games I'd need to wait for in order for the numbers I get to be statistically meaningful, but 13 is nowhere near enough. If you keep playing him and he is overpowered, I should eventually notice in those stats, but I don't know how long it will take for that to happen.
For now, the best I can say is to keep playing him (if you like playing him, of course), and I'll keep an eye on his stats.
Sidenote, I'm sorely tempted to take him into a battle with OblivAeon and see if he can finally chart me a win. I'm concerned he won't have the time to really get up and moving, but...
I always get myself killed with Hot Pursuit, so I've considered easing up the redirection damage. I also dislike that you have to remember damage that was done in previous turns, although that's not a concern for digital.
The Baroness/Cloud of Bats issue is a more complicated issue. Realistically I should change the card for a bunch of reasons and remove the interaction with Resurrection Ritual that way, but any change I make to Cloud of Bats is going to be a big change in how Baroness plays. If I made the card behave as the rules say it should, it should put hero cards into play (as hero cards) instead of resurrecting bats, and it should dump all the hero cards into the villain trash when destroyed. Then later, she should start playing hero cards. I think the freeze is just the game moving the bats without displaying the changes. I think that would happen even if I changed it so that the Baroness played Hero cards.
Really Cloud of Bats should just be a target that uses Blood Cards to deal damage somehow and I should just stop putting off making the change, but I feel like people are going to have a lot of opinions about me making that change.
To me, Burgess's main role is to be a effective drawing supporter with scene manipulator as he's very reliable when it comes to getting rid of ongoing and environment cards. So for the damage dealing role almost always the player has to rely on other heroes.
Serve and Protect is already perfect, since it's not only a great card to make him a tanker, but also a reliable method to setup for "Hot Pursuit".
As for "Hot Pursuit", IMO it's already fit the theme of "by the book" vibe and it's very fitting when it comes to late game where some of the heroes are already out. It's getting easier and easier to use. If a player needs more reliable damage dealer, they can't go wrong with PeaceKeeper or Ember.
