The melee options on soldier are pretty interesting.
You can use the escape plan to run away like a coward, you can use the market gardener to paint hightower with some poor snipers blood, you can use the disciplinary action to spank your teammates, you can use the half-zatoichi to be a weeb and you can use the equalizer to be a dissapointment to everthing in the known universe.
Or you can just simply equip the stock shovel or as I like to call it S.P.A.D.E short for Soldiers Perfect Aimless Damage Ejector.

While all of soldiers melee weapons are boring, lame and disgusting the shovel is a useful tool in many situations. You can use it to kill somebody, you can dig a trench with it, you can kill somebody with it, you can dig a grave for their body and most importantly you can kill somebody with it.

With this much power you get with the stock shovel you might as well just use the stock shovel as your primary weapon.

how to NOT die

Transforming from a sweaty tryhard to a literal meme god can be pretty hard and challenging.

You will die a lot, but this is a part of the transformation you have to play as soldier exactly 69 (nice) hours before you can even imagine of becoming a meme god. Try avoiding death it may seem like a vacation but those 3 or 15 seconds you are not helping your team might cause them to lose the entire game. The shovel is an extremely hard weapon to master since it does nothing special other then giving you +100 charisma points and a huge c*ck (male chicken).

Think of dying as your annoying math teacher from 8th grade, he gave you 20 pages of extremely hard math problems, what do you do? you can't kick his ass, you can't do the assignment because you have a life, you do the 3rd best thing and simply don't do it. Avoiding death may sound hard but after those 69 hard and painful hours you will be able to avoid death like you avoid your moms calls.

Ejecting Damage ?

Not dying with the shovel was the easy part, the actual hard part about shoveling is ejecting damage without dying.


To the left is the picture of scout from TF2, the default fastest class in the game you can kill that thing with 2 mighty swings from your shovel. Its important that you are good at math so you can calculate how much hp your enemies have left if they try to escape.

As a soldier you are the 2nd slowest class in the game, but with rocket jumping you can become one of the fastest moving objects known to mankind. You can and should equip the rocket jumper as your primary since rocket jumping that much might cause you to take damage and become an easier target for the enemy.

Above is your shovel it is the perfect killing machine, you can kill a lot of things with it and you should rightfully do so.
When you see something you want to kill be at least 48 hamer units close to it
thats about 96 cm when you are 48 hamer units close to it you'll have to press m1 once to hit them once if they don't turn around immedietly hit them a second time while you still have the chance once they turn around get away from them because they will probably fight back, if they miss their melee hit punish them by hitting them a 3rd time. Do this until they die or kill-bind from depression.
