The Milky Way Overhaul

This addon replaces the default Milky Way with a new model and high-quality textures, primarily focusing on realism with some artistic liberties to represent what our galaxy might look like.

The texture is based on real-life imagery of spiral galaxies like NGC 6744, UGC 12158, NGC 5194, and from Nick Risinger's concept art.[commons.wikimedia.org]


This addon doesn't change the texture responsible for the procedural generation of stars and nebulae in the Milky Way, so all of your saved locations within the galaxy should still exist.


Press the subscribe button, and the installation will begin automatically. After that, right-click the game on your Steam library and click properties, then go to local files and click browse local files. Look for the cache folder and delete it. It's important that you also follow this procedure If you wish to uninstall this addon or install a new addon update.
