Introduction

This guide is intended to present the skits in Tales of Symphonia in a chronological order, and to show not only precisely where they trigger, but how they trigger as well. Skits are short conversations between characters that have hardly any bearing on the game itself, but provide some extra character development and lore for those interested. The skit title will appear in the bottom-left portion of the screen: press the relevant button, and the skit will start playing. In the Japanese version of the game all skits were voiced, but sadly they are unvoiced in the English translation.

All skits can be accessed by talking to the Elder in Katz Village in a New Game Plus playthrough. The skit library in Katz Village assigns each skit a number, but this does not strictly reflect their chronological appearance in game. Additionally, certain skits are missing from the Katz Village list. My guide will give you the earliest possible instance I've found of a skit occurring, but many will be available for a while longer, only disappearing once you pass certain points in the story.

Not included in this guide are the skits triggered by walking over the glowing spots in the overworld, as these are multiple choice conversations which change Lloyd's standing with his companions, rather than being "true" skits. I recommend Phaelin's Affection Guide for more information on these.
This guide does include spoilers, so I recommend it only for those who have beaten the game once and want to see every skit possible in their next playthrough.

If you just want information on the skits that grant titles (and therefore Steam Achievements), I've put these at the top of this guide in their own section.
The Big Three: Title-Granting Skits

T01 Mizuho, the Mystical Village
---
At a certain point in the game you'll visit a village called Mizuho. You'll be directed to speak to the Vice Chief Tiga: do so. After the cutscene, simply wait in Mizuho Village until this skit pops up. There should be two or three other unrelated skits that appear beforehand, then this one. It grants Zelos his "Idiot Chosen" title. Finally, although this skit references earlier "Mizuho" skits, you don't need to have viewed those for this skit to appear.

T02 Poke Poke
---
This skit grants Presea her "Paw Mania" title. It first becomes available when you rejoin with her after the Toize Valley Mine section of the game. She'll join you again in Ozette, then you should go and stand in the overworld until this skit appears.

T03 Paw
---
Finally we get Regal's "Paw Dandy" title. It requires you to have seen "Poke Poke". It first appears after you rescue Colette from Rodyle and are dropped on the overworld just outside the Temple of Earth. Just stay right there on the overworld and it'll pop up soon.
General Rules for Skit Hunters

1. Keep a tally of each character's Affection level, and during the Sylvarant portion of the game, have Kratos in the lead, but not so far in the lead that it becomes impossible for characters to overtake him in the Tethe'alla portion of the game. Additionally keep Sheena in the top three for Sylvarant so she joins you in Luin. Keep the rest of the party as level as possible with each other, so you can get multiple "Combo!" skits. There are also two skits in Tethe'alla that require Raine being first in Affection, so if you're going for most skits seen, she is the best choice for the second half of the game.

2. Make sure you get into as many battles as possible, even if you run away from them immediately afterwards, as the game keeps track of the number of battles and some skits are triggered based on that. The highest number you need seems to be 200. Furthermore, some skits require specific party
members to have been in a specific amount of battles. These are: Colette (150); Genis (150); Presea (100); Sheena (70, for a skit in the Sylvarant part of the game). Plan your party accordingly.

3. In Sylvarant, take the Easy Path by going to Palmacosta after going through the Ossa Trail. Leave the final seal to the very end as this will take away Colette's voice, stopping some skits from appearing.

4. Unfortunately, a lot of skit hunting involves standing around doing nothing. The standard waiting time for a skit to appear on the overworld is only 40 seconds, but in dungeons it tends to be a whopping 10 minutes. In some dungeons, like the Forests of Gaoracchia and Ymir, it's even longer. Time spent in battles doesn't count. For dungeon skits, it is also recommended you interact with the Sorcerer's Ring stations, as they are often a requirement for triggering as well.

5. Finally: save often in multiple slots, so if you miss a skit, you can always go back.

(I will reiterate a lot of these points in the main body of the guide.)
The Oracle (14 skits)

Note: Affection
In Tales of Symphonia there is a hidden mechanic called Affection. All of Lloyd's companions have a certain Affection value towards him, represented as a hidden number in the game's code, that can rise or fall depending on the dialogue choices he makes. Several skits in the Sylvarant portion of the game require you to have Kratos as your highest Affection character, therefore if you want to see as many skits as possible it is best to raise Kratos' Affection as high as to make him number one.

158 It'll Be Fine
---
This skit generally pops up 18 seconds after Genis and Colette join your party. Wander round Iselia and it will show up soon.

000 What's the Temple Like?
---
As soon as you leave Iselia for the first time, you should see this skit appear.

102 Test for the Chosen
---
You get this one in Martel Temple. After obtaining the Sorcerer's Ring, go back to the main floor of the temple and get into a battle. The skit will pop up after you've defeated the enemy or escaped.

162 Lloyd's Thoughts on Angels
---
This one shows up shortly after Colette receives the Oracle and leaves the party with Kratos. Get it in the top floor of the Temple or the entrance hall.

161 Do I Have To?
---
18 seconds after the previous skit, this one will appear.

160 The Oracle
---
Another 18 seconds past the previous one, and this skit appears.

001 The Journey
---
Leave the exterior of Martel Temple for the overworld, and this skit pops up immediately.

163 Sole Redeeming Feature
---
After Lloyd is brushed off at Colette's house, this skit will appear in Iselia, after about 10 seconds.

101 Through the Forest
---
This one's a little different. On the overworld, instead of going to Iselia Forest, head south. Eventually you'll hit an invisible wall and this skit will show up by itself.

164 Genis' Friend
---
You get this skit in Iselia Forest after 18 seconds. Don't go to Iselia Ranch before seeing it.

002 Restless Noishe
---
After leaving Iselia Forest for the part of the overworld where Dirk's House is, this skit shows up automatically.

159 Dirk, the Craftsman
---
Somewhat incongruously, since it doesn't quite match the moment, this skit always appears for me when I arrive in Iselia after Colette's departure.

003 What is Colette Hiding?
---
Enter the part of Iselia where Colette's house is located, and this skit will pop up.

103 Desians Attack
---
During the Desian attack on Iselia, go to the school and save the militiaman outside. This skit will then trigger.
Leaving Iselia (12 skits)

Note: Branching Paths and Triggers
From here on the game really opens up, and in a similar fashion, what determines skit triggers can get more complex too. For example, if you've visited the Ossa Trail before breaking the Seal of Fire, you will miss out on a skit where Kratos explains where the party need to go next. I will try to mention every time something like this happens in advance, but just know that if you can't get a skit to trigger, you may have done something out of order (so to speak) that prevented it from appearing.

168 Get Strong!
---
An overworld skit that shows up when Lloyd and Genis are travelling. It should take 40 seconds to appear.

167 Why Do Desians Exist?
---
Another skit that will appear on the overworld with Lloyd and Genis, 40 seconds after the last one.

166 Lonely Departure
---
A third skit that shows up on the overworld with Lloyd and Genis. Don't enter Triet before you see all of these. Again, you have to wait 40 seconds between these skits.

165 Evidence of Colette
---
This skit also pops up when travelling the overworld with Lloyd and Genis. However you must have entered the Triet desert before it shows up (the sandy section of the overworld.)

129 I Don't Sleep in Class
---
This is one of the skits that you can't miss, as it plays automatically when you get close to Triet town.

128 The Wanted Poster
---
In Triet, examine the wanted poster of Lloyd. You'll see a short cutscene. Examine it again, and this skit will play.

169 Unknown Technology
---
Once you're captured by the Renegades, you should see this one pop up very soon.

104 Feels Different
---
I got this one after the battle with the Renegades guarding the door of the room you start in.

171 Help, Genis!
---
This one shows up in Sylvarant Base, but only after you've been there a long time. My estimation puts it between 9 and 10 minutes, and remember that time spent in battles does not count.

172 Good Job, Noishe!
---
After Lloyd is rescued from Sylvarant Base, linger on the overworld for 40 seconds before returning to Triet and this skit will appear.

170 Lloyd Acknowledges His Mistake
---
As the above: wait 40 more seconds, get skit.

K01 Know the Enemy
---
This is the first of a series of skits between Kratos and Lloyd that do not appear in the Katz Village skit viewer and hence have no number attached to them - I've invented my own designation here, "K" for Kratos. They always involve Kratos giving Lloyd some advice and end with the Training Manual being updated. This one plays automatically when you approach Triet after Sylvarant Base.
The Seal of Fire (10 skits)

173 Journey to Save the World
---
This skit generally shows up for me in Triet, almost instantly after Raine officially joins the party.

130 Prayer
---
The first of many skits triggered by resting at an inn, you can get this in Triet. However, you may have to sleep there multiple times, as the "nighttime intruder" subplot, along with its cutscenes, takes precedence over the skit triggering.

371 Genis' Decision
---
This skit will only trigger if either Genis or Raine is your highest Affection character - an impossibility for this point of the game, unless you carried over Affection as a New Game Plus feature. If you did it will trigger shortly after Raine joins the party. More information on Affection is found below, for #105.

177 We're Not on Vacation
---
This skit appears on the overworld whilst travelling to the Triet Ruins.

176 Kratos' Intention
---
Same as above.

175 Noishe Worries
---
Same as above.

174 The Hole in the Wall
---
Same as above. They should all be showing up 40 seconds after the other.

131 Sense of Direction
---
If you try to visit the Ossa Trail with Kratos in the party before the Triet Ruins are released, this skit will play automatically on the overworld as you approach.

105 Combo! Lloyd and Colette
---
The Combo! skits are triggered by your Affection level and how much each character likes Lloyd. Whenever a character becomes Lloyd's best friend, ie. has the most Affection for him, they will get a "Combo!" skit with him the next time they fight a battle (even if they didn't participate in it themselves.) Now, unless you carried Affection levels over from a previous game using the New Game Plus feature, you will always trigger #105 after the battle at the entrance to Triet Ruins. This is because Colette will always be top in the Affection levels in a normal game, since she starts with a 500 point bonus. Finally, it is possible to see almost all combo skits in a single playthrough if you know how to manipulate Affection and keep all party members roughly level with each other. Phaelin's Affection guide is an excellent place to learn more about this.

179 I'm Fine...
---
This is the only skit found during your initial visit to the Triet Ruins, and requires you to linger there for around 10 minutes before it shows up. Additionally, it will only appear before you release the Seal of Fire.
The Ossa Trail and Izoold (12 skits)

Note: Affection (Pt. 2)
At this point in the game, we start getting dialogue choices that affect Sheena's Affection. To recruit Sheena at the earliest opportunity, and access an extra skit, she doesn't need to have the highest Affection, but we need her in the top three. Practically speaking, this means keeping Genis' and Raine's Affection lower than hers.

004 To Palmacosta
---
Once you leave the Triet Ruins after releasing the Seal of Fire, this skit should pop up on the overworld. This skit, which references the Ossa Trail, will not show up if you've visited the Ossa Trail already.

108 Combo! Lloyd and Kratos
---
This combo skit generally shows up for me here and is the earliest point you can get someone to overtake Colette as Lloyd's best buddy. The reason I go for Kratos is that it seems to unlock some extra skits (see below). As with all combo skits this one appears after battle.

178 Kratos Trains Lloyd
---
This is a skit I've only seen a couple of times. Both times I've gotten it in the Triet Desert area after releasing the Seal of Fire, with Kratos as my highest Affection character. This leads me to believe it is dependent on Affection, which is certainly rare for a non "Combo!" skit but not out of the realm of possibility. If you can't trigger it by standing around the overworld, try getting into a battle. If that still doesn't work you may not have Kratos as your highest Affection party member.

117 Light Eater
---
This is the first of a series of skits triggered by cooking after a battle. In this case it does not matter who cooks, just go into a battle, cook a meal after defeating the enemies, and the skit will pop up.

114 An Adult's Sense of Taste
---
As above, cooking after a battle will trigger this skit. As only one skit can be triggered at a time you'll need to fight two battles and cook twice to see these skits, which are related to Colette's loss of taste and hunger.

005 The Ossa Trail
---
Enter the mine on the Ossa Trail map and this skit will trigger.

125 Elite from the Underworld
---
This skit plays automatically after defeating the Sword Dancer in the Ossa Trail. You can always come back to this one if you're unprepared, but I'm listing it here.

K02 Team Coordination
---
This unnumbered skit plays as you leave the Ossa Trail and unlocks the U. Attack option.

006 An Assassin
---
Back on the overworld after the Ossa Trail, this skit should show up.

180 Raised by a Dwarf
---
Travelling on the overworld after the Ossa Trail, this should pop up 40 seconds.

115 Chef Raine
---
This is a cooking skit and requires you to fail to cook a dish with Raine (after a battle). It first becomes available post-Ossa Trail.

309 Even if I Become an Angel...
---
This skit can be viewed by sleeping at the inn in Izoold at this point in the game.

Note: Easy or Hard Path?
At this point you have two paths open to you: take Max's boat from Izoold to Palmacosta (Easy Path), or cross the bridge to the north into the Asgard/Hima region (Hard Path). For the purposes of viewing as many skits as possible, you're definitely going to want to go the Easy route and take the boat to Palmacosta, as the Hard path invalidates several skit triggers. There are no skits exclusive to the Hard route, so you really don't gain anything by going that way.
Palmacosta (14 skits)

K03 To Fight the Strong
---
Another unnumbered skit between Kratos and Lloyd that adds a section to the Training Manual, it first shows up in the harbour of Palmacosta after about 18 seconds. You need to have been in 150 battles for it to show.

007 Dorr of Palmacosta
---
This skit will show up after seeing Chocolat defy the Desians in the shop, however, if you've visited the area with the church and town hall first, it won't. Just an example of how skits can be finicky and have very brief windows of opportunity.

181 Colette's Imposter
---
After talking to Dorr and Neil and hearing about the imposters, leave the town hall and walk around for 12 seconds or so, and this skit will show up.

008 Imposters
---
This skit will show up after the party decide to follow the imposters to Hakonesia Peak. Therefore, it can trigger outside the church if you gave the imposters the Palma Potion before talking to Dorr, after giving them the potion if you talked to Dorr first, or even after speaking to Dorr if you went to the church, then the imposters, then the government building. It's also a skit triggered by moving from one screen to the next, so you may have to enter a building in some of these cases.

Note: More Triggers and Ordering Issues
You're going to want to do the Genis subquest at Palmacosta Academy before you leave as this unlocks a skit down the line. You might want to do all of the Dorr / Imposters stuff in Palmacosta before visiting Palmacosta Academy, just to be sure. Once on the overworld, you should visit Nova's Caravan for a skit much later, but avoid the Thoda Sightseeing Dock, as that will stop a skit from appearing.

106 Combo! Lloyd and Genis
---
If you've been going for Genis as Lloyd's soulmate, this is the earliest point in the game you can unlock this skit, as the boost from the Palmacosta Academy test will allow him to overtake Colette. Therefore I'm listing it here, even though you should be going for Kratos and then Sheena if you want to see as many skits as possible.

336 Qualifications as a Teacher
---
This is an interesting skit. I've generally gotten it to appear on the overworld when travelling in the Asgard region, but recently had it appear here on the way to Hakonesia Peak. Due to this fact and the subject matter I think it must be related to your affection level with Kratos and require him to have the highest Affection in the party.

329 Lloyd Admonished
---
At Hakonesia Peak, wait 12 seconds after hearing about the Desians attacking Palmacosta.

069 Lloyd Praised
---
Leave Hakonesia Peak after talking to Koton, and this skit will appear.

182 Mystery of the Imposters
---
A skit that first shows up around 10 seconds after saving Cacao at Palmacosta.

070 Palmacosta's Future
---
After saving Cacao, exit her shop and the skit will trigger.

009 Don't Tell Lloyd
---
A bit of an obscure one: you have to have completed Genis' event at Palmacosta Academy, then after saving Cacao, enter the part of Palmacosta with the market and harbour and it should trigger.

338 Defeat Magnius
---
Travelling the overworld after saving Cacao will cause this skit to appear, after a standard wait of 40 seconds.

183 Strange Raine
---
This is the skit I alluded to in the note earlier, that requires you to not have visited Thoda Dock or spoken to the priests at the House of Salvation to appear. You also have to be standing somewhat close to the Thoda Dock on the overworld, or it won't trigger.

107 Combo! Lloyd and Raine
---
This is the earliest point you can get Raine's affection level to the point where she'll like Lloyd the best, triggering this "Combo!" skit after a battle. Again, prioritise Kratos and Sheena if you want to see the most skits, and get this one later.
Palmacosta Ranch and Thoda Geyser (15 skits)

089 The Second Ranch
---
This skit will trigger on entering the Palmacosta Ranch map on your way to meet Neil.

330 Dorr's True Intention
---
If you decide to confront Dorr before taking on Magnius, this skit will trigger on the overworld on your way to Palmacosta. The standard 40 second wait time applies.

075 He's a Father
---
After Dorr's death, this skit will pop up on entering the area of Palmacosta where the inn is located.

074 Parental Love
---
Like the above, a skit triggered by entering the entrance area of Palmacosta after Dorr's death.

073 Mystery of the Desians
---
The same as the two above, this is triggered in Palmacosta after Dorr's death. Entering and exiting buildings like the inn will get it to show up.

341 At the Palmacosta Ranch
---
This skit will appear while exploring the interior of Palmacosta Ranch. It won't take long to show up.

090 Make Sense?
---
This one automatically shows up on the overworld after Raine blows up Palmacosta Ranch.

337 Justice and Strength
---
Travelling the overworld after Magnius' defeat will get this skit to appear.

072 Someday
---
Another overworld skit that appears post-Palmacosta Ranch, but this one requires you to enter a location, then exit, rather than being time-triggered.

328 Tower of Salvation
---
After you retrieve the Spiritua Statue from Thoda Geyser, wander the outside of the geyser for a few seconds and the skit should pop up.

343 Seal of Water
---
This skit will appear after spending 10 minutes in the Seal of Water without releasing the seal. Additionally, you must have interacted with the Sorcerer's Ring station for it to show.

342 Get Bored Before Lloyd
---
As the above, spend 10 minutes in the Seal of Water, while having changed the Sorcerer's Ring to water power. Again, you must not release the seal beforehand.

148 Sleepless Night
---
After Colette releases her second seal and loses the ability to sleep, go rest at an inn and you'll get this skit. I usually get it at the Thoda Sightseeing Dock after releasing the Seal of Water.

063 Getting Bored
---
This one will show up on the overworld when you leave the place where you released the second seal. This can be any of the seals after the Seal of Fire, but I generally do the Seal of Water second.

071 Angel Language
---
Give the Spiritua Statue to Koton and read the Book of Regeneration. Leaving Koton's cabin, this skit should pop up.
The Seal of Wind (7 skits)

157 Human Ranch
---
After crossing into the Asgard region, go to any inn and sleep. You should get this skit.

076 Leave It to Me
---
After gaining the Balacruf map in Asgard and picking up Raine at Aisha and Linar's house, return to the main part of the city and this skit will appear.

345 Test in Ruins
---
This skit appears in Balacruf Mausoleum after around 10 minutes. Don't release the seal or the skit will become unavailable.

344 Traps in Ruins
---
Exactly the same as above.

311 That's Enough
---
Release the third seal, whichever order you may do them in, and you'll get this skit while travelling the overworld, after 40 seconds.

310 Assassin with Kind Eyes
---
Travel the overworld after fighting Sheena a second time, but before meeting her in the devastated Luin, and this skit will show up after 40 seconds.

312 Colette Not Cold
---
Another skit that will be obtained by travelling the overworld after releasing the third seal. However, you have to be in the western half of the Asgard continent, around Hima, or it won't appear.
Luin Destroyed and Asgard Human Ranch (11 skits)

077 Tragedy in Luin
---
This skit should pop up immediately after encountering Sheena in the devastated Luin.

335 Corrine's Happy Too
---
This skit should appear shortly after recruiting Sheena. I usually get it almost immediately after she joins.

109 Combo! Lloyd and Sheena
---
Strangely it is possible to have Sheena as number one in Affection as soon as she joins, and if you have taken that path you'll unlock this skit after a battle. If not you can just get it at any later part of the game.

331 Let's Make Them Pay!
---
This skit will only be available if Sheena offers to join the party the first time you find her in ruined Luin. To do this she must be in the top three in terms of her Affection level, relative to the five party members at this point. After she joins, this skit will appear after spending 40 seconds on the overworld before going to Asgard Human Ranch.

333 Truth About Exspheres
---
After you've had the discussion about Exspheres in Luin, this skit will pop up after 40 seconds on the overworld.

340 Kratos...angry?
---
This skit should pop up shortly after receiving the Desian Orb from Pietro and Sophia. I've gotten it in Hima, and also on the overworld.

339 Lloyd's Parents
---
After you've received the Desian Orb and before going back to Asgard Ranch, this skit should appear after 40 seconds on the overworld.

088 The Power of Exspheres
---
Coming back to Asgard Ranch with the Desian Orb, this skit will automatically appear when you enter from the overworld.

084 Kind Heart
---
These next two skits are related and depend on your party composition. Firstly, you must take Colette with you to fight Kvar at Asgard Ranch. Wait 10 minutes, then move to another screen and this skit should pop up. Time you spend as the deactivation party also counts towards this skit, but it will only appear once you return to Lloyd and Colette.

085 I'm Sorry
---
All the requirements for #084 apply here. After getting #084, leave the room you're in and go to another screen, and wait 10 seconds or so. This skit should appear.

346 Restless
---
This skit requires you to take a party of Lloyd, Kratos and Raine to fight Kvar. After 10 minutes of waiting around in the Ranch you should get this skit to show up. It is therefore impossible to get this skit and #084/#085, since those require Colette to be with Lloyd, and there's no switching round party members once the teams are set.
The First Pact and Healing Pietro (14 skits)

Note: Don't Become an Angel
At this point we want to prolong releasing the 4th seal, as this will rob Colette of the ability to speak, and deprive us of a number of skits. Essentially releasing the 4th seal should be the last thing you do, though you will have to briefly visit the Tower of Mana for Boltzman's Book of Healing. Furthermore, you don't want to start restoring Luin now if you want to see all the Luin skits. They're some of the most annoying skits in the game to trigger and it's better to do them all in one go later.

152 Born to Save the World
---
After defeating Kvar you'll end up in Asgard. Just rest at any inn there and you'll get this skit.

091 Avenge
---
After defeating Kvar, leave Asgard and this skit will be available.

332 Chicken or the Egg
---
A skit that shows up travelling the overworld after defeating Kvar. 40 seconds wait time, naturally.

116 Too Hot
---
Cook a meal with Colette after a battle at this point in the game and you should see this skit.

316 What's EC?
---
This skit becomes available after defeating Kvar and will show up while you're travelling the overworld, but it takes a long time to appear - around 10 minutes. Therefore, you may wish to get it later instead of waiting around now. It's available until you rest in Hima before going to the Tower of Salvation, and doesn't feature Colette.

064 Lloyd's Bad Habit
---
Go to Lake Umacy and Sheena will reluctantly propose making a pact with Undine. Back on the overworld, this skit will pop up.

K04 The Pursuit of Strength
---
On your way to Thoda Island to make the pact, you should encounter this last Training Manual skit between Lloyd and Kratos. It requires having been in 200 battles, and will show up after 40 seconds.

317 Sheena Afraid of Failure
---
This skit pops up on your journey to Thoda Island. It can appear on the overworld or the island itself, 40 seconds after the last skit.

065 Summoner Sheena
---
After you make the pact with Undine, go back through the warp point and this skit should pop up.

153 The First Pact
---
Resting at an inn after making the pact with Undine should unlock this skit.

078 The Truth
---
Leave the Thoda Sightseeing Dock after making the pact with Undine and this skit will appear. However it requires Colette to have the ability to speak.

068 To Become an Angel
---
After you get the horn from the unicorn at Lake Umacy, this skit will appear. It also requires Colette be able to speak.

315 Do Goddesses Get Sick?
---
After getting the unicorn horn, travel the overworld for 40 seconds and this skit should show up.

334 Master Boltzman
---
After retrieving the Book of Boltzman from the Tower of Mana lobby, being on the overworld for 40 seconds will cause this skit to appear. It requires Colette have the ability to speak.
Other Pacts, Tower of Mana, Finishing Up Sylvarant (12 skits)

318 It Just Got Hotter!
---
Before going to Tethe'alla, go back to Triet Ruins and wait around until you see this skit - it shouldn't take long. You don't need to make the pact with Efreet if you don't want to, but Sheena has to have made the pact with Undine for it to appear. If you do make the pact with Efreet you can still get this skit afterwards.

079 Just Another Pact
---
Having got the pact with Efreet, leave the Triet Ruins for the overworld and this skit should appear. It may require you to have watched #065, since it references that skit. Alternatively, you can get it after making the pact with Sylph instead.

156 Sheena's Nightmare
---
This one's a real doozy, I had trouble triggering it in the past. Basically you need to have had 70 battles with Sheena in the party, then go and rest at an inn. Additionally, the skit involves Colette speaking, so it must be seen before the 4th seal.

347 Splitting Up is Nervous
---
This next bunch of five skits require you to linger at the Tower of Mana for 10 minutes before releasing the seal, and have certain party member combinations when you split up. This first one is between Lloyd and Colette. The nice thing is that you can go back to the lobby and exchange party members if you want to see all of them - you don't need to wait 10 minutes for each one, they'll show up after around 20 seconds of changing the party. However, you need to be waiting in a part of the Tower other than the lobby for them to appear.

348 Splitting Up is Anxious
---
A conversation between Lloyd and Genis at the Tower of Mana.

349 Hurry and Regroup
---
Conversation between Lloyd and Raine at the Tower of Mana.

350 Difficult to Fight Separated
---
This one is between Lloyd and Kratos at the Tower of Mana.

351 Splitting Up is Worrisome
---
This last one is slightly different, it's between Kratos and Sheena, and requires you have the two of them in the non-Lloyd party at the Tower of Mana.

314 I Want to Save Colette
---
Travel the overworld after releasing all four Sylvarant seals and this skit will appear.

313 Are You Tired Genis
---
Same as above, it should pop up 40 seconds after #314.

149 Why is Colette...
---
Sleep at an inn after releasing all four seals and this skit should start playing.

150 Kratos and Noishe
---
The last Sylvarant skit on this list can be found by resting at the inn at Hima on your last visit there, just before you go up the mountain to meet the "dragon tours" guy. I'm reasonably sure it requires you to have Kratos as your highest Affection character, to show up.

Note: Fight Hard!
At the Tower of Salvation, make sure you win the second battle, or you will miss the next skit.
Journey to Tethe'alla (13 skits)

186 Lloyd Humiliated
---
This skit will pop up when escaping the Sylvarant Base, but only if you won the second fight at the Tower of Salvation (against Kratos.)

185 Betrayer Kratos
---
This will also appear in the Sylvarant Base, after 18 seconds.

184 Yggdrasill's Aim
---
As above, it will turn up in Sylvarant Base after the same time has elapsed.

010 They're Elves
---
As soon as you get to Tethe'alla, you'll get this funny skit.

193 I'm a Hypocrite
---
A skit that should show up on the Fooji Mountains in a jiffy.

192 Flying
---
Exactly the same as above. These skits come thick and fast, every 18 seconds.

191 Angel Yggdrasill
---
Exactly as above.

U01 Tethe'alla's Chosen
---
This one also shows up at Fooji Mountains. This skit was left out of the Katz Village library, likely by accident, so it doesn't have an official number.

187 Kratos, Our Enemy
---
Another one of the bevy of skits that appears on Fooji Mountains.

012 Don't Give Up
---
Much the same as the rest above, except you have to have advanced off the mountain's peak for it to appear.

013 Angry Noishe
---
Leave the Fooji Mountains for the overworld, and this skit will pop up.

011 Lloyd Confesses His Love
---
Once on the overworld, go back to the Fooji Mountains, then leave for the overworld again and this skit will pop up.

014 Tethe'alla, the Flourishing World
---
When you arrive in Meltokio for the first time, you'll get this skit.
New Friends and Enemies (15 skits)

132 Intellectual Hunnies
---
With Presea and Zelos in tow, visit the Sancta Cassius inn before you leave Meltokio. This skit will occur on staying there.

112 Combo! Lloyd and Presea
---
Unlike the rest of the party Presea has two "Combo!" skits, one for when her heart is sealed by the Cruxis Crystal, and one for when she is released. Now generally you cannot see #112 (the Cruxis Crystal one) because it is impossible to raise Presea's Affection that high during the portion of the game where her heart is sealed. To see it, therefore, you have to carry over Affection from a previous game where Presea is the highest Affection character using the GRADE Shop, which is a New Game Plus feature. Furthermore, Presea's Affection will have to be very high, as half of your characters' Affection levels will be rising during the Sylvarant part of the game, so if any of them overtake Presea's before she joins the party, this skit will again be unavailable.

That said, if you do all of Presea's side-quests and find her overworld conversations in your first playthrough, whilst neglecting all other characters, you'll have her Affection at such a high
level as to offset the Sylvarant portion in the second.

189 Presea's Job
---
You'll get this skit on the overworld before going to the Grand Tethe'alla Bridge. It takes 40 seconds to appear.

188 Hunnies of the World
---
Another 40 seconds and this skit will show up on the overworld, before you enter the Grand Tethe'alla Bridge. A little unfair, since it takes much less time than that to walk from Meltokio to the bridge, and once you enter these two skits are gone forever.

367 Nicknames
---
A skit that appears while you cross the Tethe'alla Bridge.

195 Ozette and Colette
---
Another skit that appears while crossing the Tethe'alla Bridge. They all show up in 18 second intervals.

194 Happiness Charms
---
A third skit that pops up on the Tethe'alla Bridge map.

190 Sharp-nosed Spotted Jerboa
---
The final skit that can be found on the Tethe'alla Bridge. These last two lead on from #189, you must've seen that one or they won't show up.

015 Similar
---
On leaving the Tethe'alla Bridge for the overworld, this skit will pop up.

196 Tethe'alla's Architectural Technology
---
Linger on the overworld 40 seconds before entering Sybak and this skit will show up.

198 Curiosity Towards the Unknown

After Sheena rejoins the party at Sybak, this skit becomes eligible. You can just wait in the basement for 10 seconds or so until you see it, or get it as you leave the town.

197 Sheena's Spell
---
Like the above, a skit that appears shortly after Sheena rejoins the party. Should appear 18 seconds after the last one.

016 Hurry Along the Tethe'alla Bridge
---
Leave Sybak and once on the overworld, this skit should immediately pop up.

017 Half-elves in Tethe'alla
---
Leave the Tethe'alla Bridge after rescuing Genis and Raine, and this skit will show up on the overworld.

199 You Changed, Too
---
Hang around on the overworld for 40 seconds before going to Fooji Mountains, and this skit will soon present itself.

018 Corrine in Danger
---
After reaching Meltokio via the sewers, this skit appears when you enter the part of the city with the castle and cathedral.

202 EC
---
Once Lloyd receives the Wing Pack in Meltokio, this skit should pop up shortly afterwards.

206 Two Chosen
---
This skit pops up starting from when you use the EC for the first time. It takes 40 seconds to appear.

204 Zelos' Power of Observation
---
If you go back to Meltokio after getting the EC, and wait for 40 seconds at the entrance, this skit should show up.

205 Cute Ribbon
---
A skit that first becomes available at this point in the story. Colette must've been in 100 battles, and Presea in 50, for it to show up.

203 I'm So Tired
---
A very hard skit to witness, this one requires you spend a full hour on the overworld without visiting any inns. It's available until you visit Ozette for the first time, just make sure never to rest in this part of the game or the hour-long counter will reset.
Gaoracchia Forest (7 skits)

369 Labyrinth Forest
---
Pops up not long after you start exploring Gaoracchia Forest.

210 Legendary Strategy
---
This one will show up after spending 10 minutes in Gaoracchia Forest.

211 Best Strategy
---
After 15 minutes in Gaoracchia Forest (not counting battles) you should see this skit as well.

207 Mizuho, Kingdom of Gold
---
In Gaoracchia Forest after fighting Regal, this skit should show up quickly.

208 Mizuho, the Mysterious Kingdom

Linger in the forest (or the overworld) for around 18 seconds before visiting Mizuho to get this skit.

Mizuho, Ozette, and Altessa's (13 skits)

After meeting Tiga in Mizuho, hang around the village and you'll get a bunch of skits, of which this is the first.

214 Small Knight
---
A skit found in Mizuho after speaking to Tiga.

212 Reasons for the Shackles
---
A skit you get in Mizuho after recruiting Regal. As usual, they show up after 18 second rests.

T01 Mizuho, the Mystical Village
---
This is the last skit that shows up in Mizuho after speaking to Tiga, and one of the three skits in the game that grants a character a title, in this case Zelos' "Idiot Chosen" title. It doesn't show up in the Katz Village list so I gave it its own custom number. Although this skit references earlier skits, you don't need to have viewed those for this skit to appear.

119 Chef Regal
---
After Regal joins the party, have him cook a meal after a battle and this skit will trigger afterwards.

213 Chosen from the Other World
---
Back on the overworld after seeing Mizuho, this skit should appear after a short while.

127 Elite from the Underworld Returns
---
Now that you have a full party, you can go back to Gaoracchia Forest and fight the Sword Dancer again. When you defeat him, this skit starts playing immediately.

020 Weird Guest

222 Bomber Ring
---
After you get the bomb power for your Sorcerer's Ring, this skit will become available.

220 You and I are...
---
This skit pops up shortly after meeting Vharley on your way out of the mine.

229 Colette's Secret
---
After Presea rejoins the party in Ozette, hang around 18 seconds and this skit will appear.

225 I'm Not a Kid
---
This skit can first appear in Ozette shortly after Presea joins the party. You have to have had 100 battles with Genis in the party, and 50 with Presea.

133 Pray for Colette's Safety
---
Rest at the inn at Ozette and you'll see this skit.

T02 Poke Poke
---
This skit grants Presea her "Paw Mania" title. You can get it on the overworld, once she rejoins the party after Toize Valley Mine. Don't advance the plot any further before getting this skit as it can become unavailable later in the game.

230 Presea's Wish Tag
---
Travelling the overworld after Presea rejoins but before Colette returns will yield the following series of skits. They take 40 seconds to appear.

231 Wish Tag from Sacred Wood
---
A sequel to #230, it can appear anywhere a short time after you've viewed the previous skit.

232 When the Wish Comes True
---
A third skit concerning Presea's Wish Tag, this will appear shortly after viewing the first two.

228 Small Hope
---
Another skit you can get on the overworld after Colette leaves the party, either on your way to Mizuho or going from there to the Temple of Lightning.

113 Combo Again! Lloyd and Presea
---
This is also around the earliest time you can get Presea as your highest Affection character, triggering this skit.

---
Spend around 10 minutes in the Renegades' Tethe'alla Base and this skit will show up. You must have interacted with the Sorcerer's Ring station.

305 Renegade's Technology
---
As above, it will show after 10 minutes in the Tethe'alla Base.

Note: Rheiards and Exire
With the Rheiards, you can now visit a few new locations, among them Altamira, Flanoir, and Exire. Visiting Exire, however, will stop a scene from appearing in Mizuho, which in turn triggers a skit. So basically, avoid Exire for now, I will mention when it is safe to visit later in the guide.

238 Common and Silly
---
This skit first becomes available on the overworld after getting the Rheiards. It will show after 40 seconds

134 Not the Time to Wander Off
---
If you attempt to enter areas like the Temple of Earth, Temple of Ice, etc., before saving Colette, this skit will play and prevent you entering.

023 Fight with Your Feet
---
A fairly unique skit that I first noticed showing up here. Basically you have to spend all your Gald in a shop or the like, then wait a little bit, possibly on the overworld, and this skit should trigger. Your Gald must be at zero, which makes it incredibly hard to trigger once you have millions, as might be the case in a New Game Plus playthrough.

110 Combo! Lloyd and Zelos
---
If you really plan ahead you can get Zelos as your highest Affection character by this point in the game, which will trigger this skit after a battle.

111 Combo! Lloyd and Regal

For this skit to appear, Genis has to have been in 150 battles, while Presea has to have been in 100 battles. Battles you fled from also count. This starts the longest chain of skits in the game.

319 Zelos' Lecture
---
A sequel to #241, it will appear 40 seconds after watching the above.

---
While on the hunt for Raine, go to an inn and rest. You should see this skit between Mithos and Genis.

As soon as you touch down in Sylvarant, you should see this skit. If #094 takes precedence, you'll see it on leaving a location for the overworld again.

094 Aska...Fascinating...
---
This skit first appears here and requires you to have started the Aska quest by speaking to Nova. In addition, you have to have picked up an Exsphere Shard from either Dirk or Altessa. You may also need to have made a Pact with Sylph, so if you don't see this skit here, go and fulfil those requirements.

373 Again on a Journey of Regeneration
---
Travel a little in Sylvarant and this skit soon shows up.

---
This skit appears after you've formed Pacts with all Summon Spirits except Luna. I usually see it in the Temple of Darkness on my way out.

098 Where Shall We Live? Sylvarant Team
---
These next two skits appear when leaving locations after forming pacts with all Spirits except Luna. I've found that if you start the mini-event added in the PS3 version of the game, where the party visits a bunch of locations in Tethe'alla, you'll actually stop these skits from appearing, so be careful.

097 Where Shall We Live? Tethe'alla Team
---
I generally get this skit when leaving the Linkite Tree after restoring it.

This skit will appear when leaving a location after restoring the Linkite Tree, but before making the pact with Luna.

---
Crossing the bridge to Dirk's House will make this skit play automatically.

Restoring Luin (10 skits)

361 Luin Rebuilt 1
---
The Luin skits can be a pain to trigger. While you can get the first two skits earlier than this, it's much better to do them all at once. This first skit becomes available after the 3rd payment to restore Luin, for 21,500 Gald. Once you've payed Pietro this, go to the overworld and wait 40 seconds. This skit should pop up.

362 Luin Rebuilt 2
---
After seeing #361, wait another 40 seconds on the overworld and this skit should pop up too.

274 Luin Rebuilt 3
---
Here's where it gets complicated. You must have made the 6th payment to restore Luin, for 25,000 Gald. You have to then go out to the overworld, come back in to Luin, but not make the next payment, just go out immediately again. Then wait 40 seconds on the overworld and this should show up. This skit references Palmacosta's destruction, so you can't get it earlier than that anyway.

275 Luin Rebuilt 4
---
Fast forward to the 9th payment, for 45,000 Gald. As before, leave, come back to Luin, then leave again without making any further payments. Wait 40 seconds on the overworld and this skit will appear.

276 Luin Rebuilt!
---
Give Pietro the 10th payment, of 50,000 Gald, then leave Luin. Come back to see how it looks and leave immediately after. Wait 40 seconds on the field and you'll see this skit.

277 Luin Reborn
---
Same as the last two, make the 11th payment (75,000 Gald), leave, come back again, leave again. Wait 40 seconds outside and get this skit.

278 Living Our Days to the Fullest
---
Make the 12th payment of 100,000 Gald to Pietro, leave for the overworld. Come back to Luin, leave again. On the overworld after 40 seconds, you'll see this skit. Phew!

280 Sheena's Statue
---
These last three are slightly different. You have to make the payment, come back again, but instead of leaving immediately you have to examine the relevant statue. Then wait 40 seconds on the overworld for the skit to appear.

279 Lloyd's Statue
---
Lloyd's statue is made after the 14th payment to Luin, for 5,000 Gald.

It also makes it possible to see a scene in Mizuho which will point you to Exire and set a flag for a future skit - but only if you haven't visited Exire already. Also, you have to beat Kuchinawa first, as entering Mizuho at this point in the game triggers that particular event. Once you've completed that, go and talk to Tiga, and you'll see a scene where Exire and Maxwell are mentioned. You now have the flag to receive #374, which will pop up later. Acknowledgements and Thanks

Although this guide is my own work, and based principally on my own research, in the course of searching for information on skits I was missing, I have become indebted to a few sources, which I'd like to mention here.

The first is a Japanese fansite, mj-phantasian, which illuminated for me the requirement that party members have to have been in a certain number of battles before some skits will trigger. This applies to skits #156, #205, #225, and #241, just to name a few, and was therefore undoubtedly critical info.

Credit for #203, #235, and #371 goes to one "Tsuyoi", who posted their discoveries on a Japanese Playstation message board many years ago. Truly invaluable knowledge, once I ran it through an online translator - this guide would not be complete without it.

Lastly, thanks to Steam users: mat.duf for helping me out with information for skits #374 and #376; and Dwarven Crusader for the specific conditions for triggering #186. Your reaching out was greatly appreciated.

And lastly lastly, thank you to anyone who used this guide, I hope it helped you get more out of your playthrough of Tales of Symphonia, if only a little.

So to confirm it, Skit #230 needs to be viewed first, but does not mean Skit #231 and Skit #232 will not pop up until the rebel base and Reiards are stolen from the rebel base. Then you go walk around the grassy area near the dock near Ozette and they should both pop up. This is how it happened to me. You might want to write this in your guide as it is confusing as it is at the moment. So i can confirm i seen both Skit #231 and @232 only AFTER the Rebel base and getting the Reialds.
RPG Gamer Man Mar 11 @ 7:48pm
And yea, Skit 231 and 232 probably still require players to view 230 still.
RPG Gamer Man Mar 11 @ 7:47pm
Well saying it happens after getting the Reiards, finishing the Rebel base, and walking around Ozette area in the grassy area near the dock, all these triggered it just now in my game. I suggest updating your guide to prevent confusion to other players using this guide. Anyways, great guide, thank you.
RPG Gamer Man Mar 11 @ 7:40pm
Aha, just had it pop up AFTER the Rebels Base sequence when you regain the flying vehicles. I guess if you try to get it before then, it does not always pop up. I still waiting for skit #232, but it looks like it may pop up soon. Anyways, wanted to let you know. Also, yes, went around Ozette area where the grass is near the dock and it worked.
RPG Gamer Man Mar 11 @ 6:12pm
Just made it to the rebels base before i get colette, so im worried if i go any further into the game i will lose them. I will try to go close to Ozette. I have no clue where a poison marsh is, nor where that came from. Maybe your missing up skits?
Catterick  [author] Mar 11 @ 2:17am
I would try walking round Ozette, and the overworld around Ozette. It's possible there's a location component to #231, as the text mentions a poison marsh. Once that one triggers, #232 should follow. I hope that makes them appear. :Genis:
RPG Gamer Man Mar 10 @ 4:45pm
Skit #231 and 232 never popped up for me. I saw the first one, which is required on the lightning island, but the other two never popped up for me. I did see all the other skits for the island though. Should i enter volt's dungeon and leave it again for the skits to pop up or go into the boat thing and see if it pops up then?
Catterick  [author] Apr 5, 2024 @ 7:41am
Interesting! I'll have to check it out, and test it. The endgame skits can be sort of weird, and I know I was a little unclear on that particular one. I'll also try and put a reference to your comment on "I'm so Tired" in the guide so people can perhaps save it for just before Ozette. :Zelos:
Dwarven Crusader Apr 4, 2024 @ 4:30am
I'm doing a Regal playthrough right now and Zelos's affection is 720 according to a memory scan I'm using. He has the third lowest affection of all the characters and despite this I just managed to get skit 286 "When this Journey Is Over..." so that one doesn't require him to be the soulmate. It did take a long while to appear, I flew around Tethe'alla a few times shopping for items and such before it popped up.
Dwarven Crusader Mar 26, 2024 @ 4:44am
Lemme tell ya, the skit "I'm so tired" is a pain in the ASS to get. I got the EC, went back to Meltokio to see the scene with Zelos, left, and saved. Then I waited an hour, even set an alarm for 55 minutes so I could watch for the skit to pop up since sometimes one skit can get overwritten by a subsequent one (like how "legendary strategy" will disappear if you let it sit too long and "best strategy" will pop up to replace it), but it didn't show up. So I went to Sybak to progress the story and get the definitive orders to go through Gaoracchia Forest to get to Ozette. I went to the overworld, saved, waited an hour (watching intently after 55 minutes) and it STILL didn't show up. So I went through Gaoracchia, got all the skits there, got all the skits before, during, and after Mizuho, and only after standing outside Ozette for an hour did "I'm So Tired" show up.
