Worked perfectly. ;) .. Steam updated the empty folder, and didn't complain when running the un-updated Skyrim game. :steamthumbsup:

That is what I have done. I made another directory with my Skyrim SE folder away from Steam and will just use that if the main one is damaged.

I renamed the Steam install of Skyrim as well in the hopes Steam can't find it to update it.

I'm backing up everything, and I'm NOT updating, lol.. I rather keep all my mods than get their anniversary fishing pole. ..I know the update will be forced, but it's easily circumvented by renaming the folder, letting steam install what it needs to, then renaming back again.
